licensing stuff

1. Go to the tag search and click on _image only.

2. Check for image sources - this can range from licenseboxes to image modules attached to the ratings module, as well as the comments or even in the page source.

3. If there are sources for every image used (you can verify by going into the page source and doing cntrl+f terms like "image" "png" "jpg"), then just create a licensebox with all the information necessary and then change the _image tag to a _cc as well as tagging _licensebox. If the article has a licensebox already, then you only need to change the _image tag.

4. In the event that not every image is sourced, first try to reverse image search it yourself. Each browser has a different extension that does the job: for example, Mozilla has one literally named Search by Image. Generally, Google, Bing, and Tineye are reliable enough.

5. In the event that you still can't find the image, send the author a DM about the image and give them a week to respond. If they fail to respond or provide correct licensing after a week, then you can remove the image.

Note: sometimes, people will link to an image rather to the licensing page specifically. When that happens, you will need to manually change the url so that it redirects to the correct information.

Wikimedia and Flickr are generally easy enoug; the rest you'll have to figure out on a case by case

The second link looks like a piece of shit due to being characters but the premise isn't as abysmal (ideally you'd be using link shorteners in the licensebox anyway)

As for flickr, you do a similar thing

The only thing you care about is the first string of numbers directly before the first underscore, in this case

4387489763

Plug those numbers directly behind this url

so that you get something like this

When you hit enter, it should redirect you to the image page, assuming it still exists. (This is also helpful for flickr links in general if you come across an abysmally long link - most of the shit after that first underscore is because of a photostream and can be cut)

If you do end up having to remove an image, just remove it from the page source and state in your edit history
