Log of applying Typhoon Reagent to atypical subjects.
Species: Dog (Canis familiaris)
Test: Unintended exposure. During the retrieval of a SCP-9398 Carrier, the retrieving team's K9 unit ingested a Typhoon Reagent contaminated corpse. It was then transported to a Site-19-B enclosure to observe its changes in a controlled environment.
Results: Within two hours, the Carrier began displaying enhanced aggression, Typhoon Reagent leaking from its eyes. Over the next thirteen hours, Carrier gradually shed all hair from its body, its barking becoming hoarser. Carrier refused dog food when offered; raw chum was provided as an alternative, which it ate without hesitation. One day after initial infection, a chitinous jaw was seen poking out of its mouth occasionally.
After three days and two hours, the Carrier began to make heaving sounds while rocking its body back and forth. Within two minutes, an insectoid mass ejected from the mouth, leaving behind deflated skin. The Carrier remained quadrupedal, but with chitinous plates covering the body, a dragonfly-like head with compound eyes (still leaking Typhoon Reagent), biramous arthropod feet, and curved protuberances sticking out from the gaps in the chitin.1 It proceeded to consume the cast off skin. Carrier under observation at Site-19-B.
This occurrence led to the SCP Project's awareness of Typhoon Reagent's unusual effects on non-reptiles. Further tests were approved, with the goal of discovering useful applications of the substance.

Test: One of SCP-9853's waste objects was injected with Typhoon Reagent.
Results: The individual who touched the waste object described the perceptual sensations of EIC-4, along with the feeling of a "ghost lizard" moving around within their body. This new mass was felt crawling up the throat when the waste product was brought close to their lips. The prospect of using this form of modified SCP-9853 waste against detainees who experience sensitivity to nausea is under discussion.

Species: Human (Homo sapiens)
Test: Comatose subject was injected with Typhoon Reagent. This was done to see if the substance could jump start the brain and restore motor functions.
Results: No change in the state of the Carrier, minus excess Typhoon Reagent leaking from the ears. However, individuals sleeping in Site Black's medical wing began experiencing nightmares in which a dragon-like monster hunts and mutilates them. Employees and others reported feeling lingering pains from the parts of their bodies injured in the dream. This was determined to be purely psychological. The Carrier was transferred to an isolated wing in Site Black.

Test: To see if the compound could be used to reanimate corpses as a bioweapon.
Results: Rats, flies, centipedes, maggots, snakes, and fleas spontaneously generated from the dead matter. No loss of mass was observed. The remains and animals were dissolved.

Test: A M1301 Infantry Squad Vehicle's gasoline tank was filled with Typhoon Reagent. As the compound contains ████████████████, it was hypothesized it could act as makeshift fuel. This was also done to further test Typhoon Reagent's effects on inanimate objects.
Results: No differences were noted in the ISV compared to a normal one, until 8 days after the initial experiment when the vehicle stopped working. A large mass of irregularly shaped metal was found in its underside, partially intersecting the under-hull and pushing vital components of the car out of their placements. Cutting open the mass revealed 5 small figurines, made of clay and steel. The figurines depicted a horned monster, a fish man, a dragon, an █████, and an unidentified featureless blob.
FAILURE
Species: SCP-8546
Test: Tissue samples (a head, a toe, and a strip of muscle) extracted from the creature were injected with Typhoon Reagent. Done to further observe the compound's effects on the paranormal.
Results: The muscle immediately began moving, developing a flatworm body plan. It attacked the physician administering the chemical, flaying skin from their arm before the individual was rescued and the subject locked in a vacuum. The toe grew into a lumpy mass, expanding in size until bursting; the emerging creature was an arachnid-like mass of canine legs. The head ceased crying and began laughing, with appendages beginning to emerge from the neck stump.
All 3 Carriers were thrown into the same chamber and immediately converged on each other. Upon contact, their flesh became red and gelatinous, melding together into a shifting mass. Two new voices joined the sound of laughing. Carriers separated after 43 minutes, each now identical in appearance. ~5ft in height, bodies are cloaked in curtains of red flesh. Heads resemble a skinless canine's, with prominent veins and muscles along the skull. Jaws are distorted into a smile. Subjects' viability as assets for the Bioweaponry Division is under discussion: while their regenerative capabilities, hunting strategy, and cruelty are useful traits, their lack of loyalty and alien psychology make them difficult to control. Of additional note is the lack of Typhoon Reagent produced by the subjects' tear ducts.
SEMI-SUCCESS
The Carriers, codenamed Furies, have been sent to Site-19 for storage. Due to unusual developments, the Furies are under the purview of Dr. Wrenley Wisp.
Species: Emperor scorpion (Pandinus imperator)
Test: Injected with Typhoon Reagent. Purpose was to learn if animal Carriers with a lower number of brain neurons could be controlled more easily than intelligent Carriers.
Result: The previously non-pregnant Carrier gave birth to 17 offspring. These offspring rapidly grew to maturity and each gave birth to a similar number of offspring. The amount of Carriers could not reliably counted after this. The population grew into a ~4ft tall mass, with individuals on the surface interlocking with each other's bodies.2
Long hairs began growing from the carapaces, eventually obscuring the mass. After 43 minutes, a large annelid-like appendage fell out of a new opening in the mass. This appendage was tipped with a cluster of various stingers, later found to contain venom matching the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. The mass then began crawling around the chamber floor. When presented with a live pig, the mass attempted to swing it's appengage at the animal; the pig was believed to have died from repeated blunt force trauma rather than the venom.
FAILURE
Both esoteric and standard animal training failed to control the Carrier-mass. This, along with the risk of rapid reproduction, has led to the prohibition of testing with female animals. The Carrier-mass died upon removal of the stinger appendage. Dissection revealed the mass to be a colonial organism.

Test: During the escape of a Carrier in Site-19-B, Dr. Monroe's right foot was exposed to Typhoon Reagent at boiling point. This caused the transmutation of his foot into a hoof; Typhoon Reagent was not located in his body afterwards. Repeated experiments found this was a consistent property of the compound, albeit with the resulting transmutation differing. The following test would involve submerging a volunteer into a vat of boiling Typhoon Reagent.
Result: Initially, the volunteer3 reemerged with a layer of fur covering most of the body. Patches of scales were present on random points. Head matched closely with a lion's, with accompanying mane. Bat wings had grown from the shoulder blades, with average control over their movements. Feet were transmuted into bird talons. Skin secreted a greasy substance that prevented the triboelectric effect.
After 3 hours, volunteer began complaining about a headache. The pain increased as the head experienced noticeable swelling, becoming debilitating until the head exploded into a mass of intestines. This did not cause the volunteer to expire. Their skeleton grew to twice its original size, along with an increased production of fat. Fur fell off, with a wood-like carapace developing over the skin after the growing ceased. A tail appendage emerged from the lower back, tapering into four root-like tendrils. The wings remained unchanged, and allow flight despite the volunteer's heavy weight. The greasy substance continues to be produced, and as been shown to neutralize electrical currents.
SUCCESS
Free therapy has been offered as a way to mitigate the volunteer's severe body dysmorphia. Repeated testing has shown the extreme changes to the body were due to the overly long time the volunteer was submerged in Typhoon Reagent. Further additions to Project Chimera are not to be exposed to the substance for longer than 20 seconds. No new volunteers have been found.
