This article scares me, to a degree, because I'm not entirely sure how I did it. I wrote the documents— the main "punch" of the article, per se— in a sort of manic creative fever, and looking back I can't imagine, like… outputting something on that level again.

It's close to 40. Who cares. Let success speak for itself.

SCP-7094: The Rust Belt

This is a very near-and-dear article to me for two reasons. First, Rat's Nest is one of my favorite canons on the site. It's been a sort of long-term sub rosa goal of mine ever since I started writing for the site to make a Rat's Nest article— and it's a very happy coincidence that it managed to, second, tie into my other long-term sub rosa goal: to write an article about the Midwest.

Am I entirely happy with how it turned out? No. What makes a good Rat's Nest article is the overwhelming sense of doom and apocalypse it brings. But, fuck it— there's enough subtle hints that things are starting to get much, much worse.

Also 7094-1 is inspired by a very certain character from season 3 of Fargo, which should not be that difficult to figure out if you've watched the show.
