Site Overview

Site-22 Loves You Too
Site-22 is the result of classified experimentation that began in June of 1963. Dir. Mikhail ██████ was responsible for the study of a large external organ structure, which resembles a human heart. At the time when Mikhail presented the object to the O5-Council, it weighed 997.90 kg (2,200 lbs), with an approximate radius of 3 meters and a height of 11 meters.
Mikhail and his research team developed methodologies which stimulated the object into muscle contractions (e.g., heartbeats). The primary methodology, later referred to as Modality Zero, involved physically stimulating the object with human hands placed at key locations on and around the object's ventricles. This had to be done lovingly.
Through testing, it was discovered that each "heartbeat" generated a large amount of kinetic force. While the details are classified Clearance Level 5, the end result of the project was the foundation of Site-22. The heart loves us so much, it made us a home!
In our modern day, the heart pulses at a steady rate. Each pulse is converted into electrical energy that is used to power the whole Site. The power generated by the heart is theorized to be approximately 3 gigawatts, or the equivalent of three nuclear power plants.
Site-22 loves you too. At times, you may feel the "heartbeat" in the floor as it speeds up in response to anomalous stimuli. This is used by personnel as an advanced warning system for anomalous events, such as the recurring local manifestations of SCP-7516. "Trust the Heart," as some staff say, and follow standard panic protocols whenever you feel it beating.
Due to the sensitive, semi-organic nature of the Site, personnel are to avoid touching the walls as much as possible. You may observe the walls rippling, shivering, gyrating, changing shape, or even groaning. This is generally considered normal and is not a cause for concern. However, in cases of extreme activity, you should immediately locate the nearest member of the Department of Massage Therapy to assist in showing some love.
The Site features two additional complexes, the Dormitories and the Stables. These structures are not a part of the semi-organic organism, and personnel do not need to follow special procedures in these locations. Be calm. I love you.
Therapy at Site-22
The Department of Massage Therapy loves you too! In addition to maintaining the walls, Massage Therapy is responsible for the Research & Development wing. Here, new massage techniques are discovered and tested by trained therapists. These techniques are designated as Modalities, and are capable of a wide range of anomalous effects, the majority of which are classified by the Department.
Not all modalities strictly fall under the nomenclature of massage therapy. Some modalities are based on contorting a body into specific positions, touching body parts in a specific order, or performing a series of gestures. Furthermore, some modalities are not themselves anomalous, but are used to mitigate or contain an associated anomalous effect.
Included below is a copy of Modality-HANDCA-22, the steps used for care and maintenance of Site-22's interior walls. This information is included for reference purposes only. Please do not attempt to perform any part of this modality unless you have been specifically instructed by a member of Massage Therapy to do so. Be cautious. I love you.
Please do not attempt to impersonate a member of Massage Therapy.
Staffing Information
Department of Massage Therapy
Description: The Department of Massage Therapy is the largest Foundation body at Site-22. They are responsible for various aspects of site operation, including the Containment Wing, the Massage Studio, Research & Development, and daily management of the Site Stables. The majority of the department's work consists of collaborating with the Containment Wing and the Medical Wing in the use of modalities. It's their job to spread the love!
№ of Members: 292
Department Head: Dir. Amias Aldrich
Research & Development
Description: R&D operates under the command of the Department of Massage Therapy. The facilities at Site-22 are highly specialized, and geared towards anomalous studies relating to: physical therapy, massage therapy, emotional therapy, speech therapy, human anatomy, equine anatomy, modalities, and love. All members of R&D are also at least Level 2 Clearance within the Department of Massage Therapy.
№ of Members: 68
Research Head: Dr. Merriam Lissel
Equestrian Division
Description: Like R&D, the Equestrian Division operates under the command of the Department of Massage Therapy. Unlike R&D, the Equestrian Division is its own body, and Massage Therapy clearance is not a requirement to become a member of the Equestrian Division. In addition to handling the daily management of the Site Stables and the containment of horse-related anomalies, the Equestrian Division is also responsible for acquiring new horses from the Veiled world to be used in testing and containment. The majority of horses living at Site-22 are acquired through rescue programs and slaughter houses, and because we love them.
№ of Members: 74
Research Head: Dr. Lucy Loudermilk
On-Site Security
Description: Security is responsible for handling containment breaches, managing power throughout the site, and maintaining the Veil around Site-22. Further details are restricted to Security personnel only.
№ of Members: 91
Head of Security: Peter Harsh
Janitorial Services
Description: Although a given at any Site, the janitors at Site-22 play an especially important role. Janitors must be trained to handle any surprises caused by the site's walls, including the periodic collapse of any objects hanging from the walls. Site-22 is also prone to unexpected growths or messes, which must be attended to quickly and with the proper precautions. The janitors here have a tough job, so be sure to tell them you love them the next time you see them!
№ of Members: 14
Head of Janitorial Services: Lars Laurent
NOTE: Head Janitor Laurent was fatally struck in the head during a containment breach on 09/09/2024. However, Laurent has continued to perform his job since the incident. Although he cannot speak and possesses no pulse or brain waves, his body continues to update cleaning schedules and process paychecks for his department.
During the incident, Rsr. K. Karnass attempted to revive Laurent using Modality-█████. It is theorized that the procedure successfully reanimated his nervous system, but failed to resuscitate Laurent himself. As Laurent is still performing his duties with admirable efficiency, the decision has been made to not replace him at this time.
Site Layout

Site-22 consists of three building complexes: the Dormitories, the Stables, and the Heart. The buildings are spread out over a space of approximately 20 acres, with an additional 60 acres of grassland surrounding the complex. The majority of this land is used for grazing and field work for the horses.
The Heart (main complex)
Cafeteria: In addition to standard Foundation amenities, there is also an on-site juice bar.
Cold Storage: Primarily reserved for containment of SCP-9220.
Containment Wing: Accessed via decontamination airlocks at all points of egress.
Employee Lounge A: Please refill the coffee machine after each use.
Employee Lounge B: The ceiling bubble, and the viscera left behind by its explosion, have been removed by janitorial staff. If, while within Lounge B, you feel that you can still perceive the ceiling bubble, please report immediately to Research & Development.
Guard Tower: Site-22 does not have a fenced perimeter. On the interior perimeter, tracking sensors are placed at undisclosed intervals which send alerts to the guard tower, enabling efficient responses to any containment breaches. Cognitive wards prevent approach on the far side of the perimeter. In addition, an undisclosed number of armed guards patrol the perimeter at all times.
Massage Studio: Personnel may request to receive massage services once every 9 weeks. Approval is not guaranteed. But we'll always love you.
Medical Wing: Site-22's medical wing is robust, with multiple subsections capable of responding to theoretically any medical emergency. Complex surgeries that cannot be performed at other Sites are often evacuated to Site-22 for completion. Spread the love.
Power Grid-1: The location of the heart from which Site-22 was formed. Only members of Massage Therapy are authorized to enter Power Grid-1 for any reason. There are no exceptions.
Power Grid-2: Primary command center for Site-22's power grid. Security personnel are authorized to enter Power Grid-2, with the exception of emergencies, during which all personnel with on-site clearance are authorized to override grid control.
Research & Development: R&D is primarily used by Massage Therapy for the development of new modalities. It is also used for the research of containment methods and other classified studies.
Dormitories
Each room in Site-22's dormitories is furnished with a bed, nightstand, desk, television, dresser, and closet. Bathrooms and showers are communal. The dormitories also feature a bathhouse with attached steam room. Be welcome! We love you.
Stables
Adjunct Barn: The adjunct barn contains 8 stalls measuring 5 by 5 meters each. It is equipped with a shower stall, cross-tie stations, a tack room, and a dedicated on-site farrier. The adjunct barn is multipurpose, and is most commonly used for the training of new personnel, as well as the housing of non-anomalous horses.
Arena Barn: The arena barn contains two large sand-filled arenas. Both arenas measure 24 by 36 meters and are fully enclosed and air-conditioned, with a reinforced retaining wall separating them. These arenas are used exclusively for the testing of equine-related anomalies, or the interaction of anomalies with horses. The arena barn includes four stalls, which are intended for the temporary residence of horses that are actively being used in testing.
Block Barn: The block barn, also called the Containment Barn, is the largest barn at Site-22. It contains █0 stalls measuring 5 by 5 meters each, all of which are specially designed for the containment of equine and equine-adjacent anomalies. There is a second-floor loft with short-term sleeping accommodations for personnel. The structure also doubles as an emergency shelter, with automatic shutters that can be used to enclose the space from anomaly- or weather-related events.
Containment Unit #7516: The specialized unit for SCP-7516 sits at the eastern end of the property, as far from the main buildings as possible while still maintaining cognitive wards. Horses taken to the containment unit are not to be returned to the main site for any reason, even if they survive Modality Shaffer-Muladhara.
Paddocks: Site-22 has six paddocks (A-F) measuring 18 by 6 meters. Three of the paddocks are grass (A-C), and three are shallow sand (D-F). The grass paddocks are to be used for free roaming and injury recovery, while the sand paddocks are ideal for outdoor training and riding. For testing with anomalies, it is preferred that personnel use the covered Arena Barn.
Pastures: Site-22 has four large fenced pastures (A-D), each of which are one to two acres in size. Pastures are used for letting horses free to graze and roam.
Round Pens: Site-22 has three round pens, one of which is furnished with a hotwalker.2 Each pen is 15 meters (approx. 50 feet) in diameter. Round pens are used for working or training horses, and are not to be utilized for free roaming.
Field Sketches
Included below are various illustrations of Site-22, made by personnel during visits and surveys.
