SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES: SCP-818 is to be stored in a Foundation-standard humanoid containment cell; excepting the provision of necessary resources and standard interviews, it is to be left alone. Researchers are to, on a weekly basis, measure the level of blue in the area within 50m of its cell. Should the level of blue ever increase at a rate 150% over the established baseline, no action shall be taken.
SCP-818 shall not be perceived as a threat. SCP-818 shall not be unduly publicized by the Foundation, in line with extant anomaly-handling guidelines. Once a day, SCP-818 will meditate. It is not to be disturbed while in the process of meditation.
Should the level of blue surrounding SCP-818 diminish, it is to be released back to its normal life.
DESCRIPTION: SCP-818 is a fifteen-year old female genetic thaumatologist. It lived an ordinary life with an ordinary childhood; raised in Kyrgyzstan to a family in poverty, it learned horseback riding and the tending of livestock before any formal education. It still misses what once was.
SCP-818, due to its anomalous nature, draws blue around itself: items, persons, concepts, beings, and structures that remain in contact with it become irreversibly colored-in blue. No other side-effects have been observed. It is unclear the extent to which this ability can manifest.
On the eve of SCP-818's twelfth birthday, it awakened to its powers, which consisted primarily of temporal foresight and manifestation. See documentation regarding Incident-818-BLUE for further information.
On the day of SCP-818's fifteenth birthday, it approached a Foundation facility in Kyrgyzstan and surrendered. The sky was totally blue. From there, it was transferred to Armed Biological Containment Area-40 in Borneo, under the purview of Site-512.
Various interview logs with SCP-818 are found in the attached Addenda.

Q: So, why don't you talk about why you turned yourself in?
A: It's safer here than elsewhere. I will not put my family in danger.
Q: <pauses> I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting that response. To be honest, I have no script. We don't get many situations where anomalies willingly turn themselves in.
A: Well, I did do that.
Q: And you also seem to be remarkably cooperative.
A: I try to be.
Q: Then, you say you're putting your family in danger by staying. What are they in danger from?
A: Blue.
Q: <Verifies with the translator there was no mistranslation.> Blue? I'm so sorry, but could you elaborate?
A: I can't elaborate if I don't know more, myself. In danger of blue. Do you see it? It's all around you, now, all around everything here. But it was worse in the open fields. The sky and the water is blue, there, and the grass was turning too. Grass should be green. Here, the floor is still grey… I think.
A: You can't imagine what it looks like if you don't see it. I'm sorry if the answer doesn't work for you, or your organisation. I look into the future, and the blue gathers back.
Q: Yes, we've got your foresight on file. You left your whole life behind, didn't you?
A: Not permanently, I hope. But yes, just for a moment. You can't imagine how… scary it was, seeing it all encroaching, it all creeping in. Seeing it all. It's so… I felt so alone. Nobody else understood.
Q: So how did you find the Foundation, then?
A: I'm not sure. I found myself finding you in the future, I guess… and I've always had a sharp intuition. I was nudged along this path, and once I found your agent, I knew what to do.
Q: <pauses> Was it very blue, out there?
A: Very much. It was beautiful, too… not to say here is that unpleasant… but the landscape deserved better than me. It deserved better than what I was doing to it, or what I was going to do. And, to be honest, I am still scared.
A: I don't want to taint this place too.
ADDENDUM 818.II: Eyewitness Account from Incident-818-BLUE
Statement taken 18/12/10
"It was, you know, nothing much. I just looked around and realised how vivid the sky suddenly was, and how vivid the water suddenly was. Something was wrong? Maybe, but I couldn't tell. Oh, but she was radiant, let me say. Little Assel. I couldn't help but focus on her. Yes, something was different about her, but I couldn't quite tell, and she looked a bit scared, but we all looked scared on our own important days.
Yes, now you mention it, her eyes were blue. I always thought they were brown."
Eyewitness was subsequently amnesticized and released.

Q: Talk me through that decision, then. When you made it.
A: Three golden years, and I knew it would end, but I didn’t know how. But eventually I realised. Their eyes were brown before; the day before my fifteenth, they had all turned to a different color. The same one… even my little baby brother, Tynch… he stuck out his tongue at me, and I tried to close my eyes, but I couldn't. We swam in the lake, so clean, but when they came out the colour stuck to them. Sharper as I came closer, waning as I went further.
A: Now it sticks to you all, instead. I was wrong. This place was not safe.
Q: You stay on, nonetheless.
A: No point running, is there?
Q: Let's go back, before the golden years, then. Talk about the day your powers awakened.
A: My first Müchöl year. I remember how terrifying it was. My parents slaughtered a little ram for me and dressed me up in red, but once the cloth slipped on my shoulders it had turned blue. And then it happened again, the next night.
A: I know now what had really happened. The night before I had slipped into the future; one day later I lived through the actual thing. And the coat was still blue, and so were my parents' hands — especially their nails, I remember. That same night as my hands clutched onto the cloth I probed further and further into the future. Gold, then blue. Like I’ve mentioned before.
A: If you need good news, the blue now is somewhat diminished, compared to its zenith as I foresaw. But, as I said, it’s growing. You would know, too.
Q: How can you sense it, even? It’s a curious phenomenon. Maybe half our staff sees it; the next day it’s half of that. Our detectors are the only reliable thing.
A: Well, same way everyone sees everything. With my eyes. <taps the side of her head> The more everything looks like the future, or the sky, or the water, the more it grows. It’s like my sight is blurring over.
Q: What if the blue were to go back down, then? We’re trying rituals, counter-anomalies, much of what we can.
A: Well, I wish you good fortune. It would be nice to be free and released. To see a sky and not feel… trapped.
A: But, I think, that kind of future is not there for me.

Q: Did you know, they're saying this will be our last interview?
A: I know.
Q: Aren't you at least a bit happy?
A: It isn't your fault, doctor. You have been very kind. The only one to engage me face-to-face.
Q: Sorry?
A: Why am I being released?
Q: Well, I don't know if I can tell you, but… <whispers> your blue readings have gone down significantly. It's a good sign.
Q: Well, maybe I wasn't supposed to tell you. But I guess you'd know anyway.
A: Have they gone down?
Q: Haven't they? I barely see blue around you now. Your eyes don't even look the shade they were when you first came in. We're very glad for that.
A: Have you ever seen the checker shadow illusion, doctor? I remember when I was eight. It was in one of the children's books that charities gave away.
A: It blew my mind when I was younger.
A: Nothing, doctor?
A: It really has been good knowing you, doctor. For what I have done to you, I would like to apologise. I think… I think I am ready. I hope you are ready, too.
Q: Let me make a call.
ADDENDUM 818.VI: Overview of SCP-818 Termination (Unauthorized)
BY ORDER OF THE UNDERSECRETARY GENERAL
The following file describes a para-threat entity which's liquidation was carried out against standing treaties with the group known as "The Foundation". At present, that group is unaware of our intervention. All necessary steps are to be taken to maintain this status quo. Relevant Foundation documentation will be wiped within forty-eight hours.
This file is to be deleted within seventy-two hours.

Threat ID:
LTE-818-Freud-Helmholtz-Blue ("Jade Prophetess")
Authorized Response Level:
4 (Severe Threat) N/A (Confirmed Destroyed, File To Be Deleted)
Description: Threat was an anomalous humanoid, presumed Type Green, that fled into Foundation custody three years after first manifestation of its powers. It was presumed to be a Phase 3 ("Stability") Entity; it was further presumed to be well on its way to Phase 4, owing to its growing influence around its surroundings: in particular, Area-40, the Foundation Facility it was housed at.
Its primary paranormal traits were its temporal foresight, and subconscious manifestation of imprinted desires or perceptions upon its surroundings, or other objects contextually associated. Notably, it subconsciously utilised these abilities to modify the mental states of the staff of Area-40, modify its own containment documentation, and significantly alter the structures and buildings near its location. Its fixation on a perceived "blue" in its own future led to an intermittent and irrevocable tainting of its surroundings.
Threat was identified following satellite imagery of hue distortions in the upper atmosphere, directly above Area-40.
Liquidation: LTE-818-Freud-Helmholtz-Blue was successfully terminated by Strike Team 0811 ("Soft Steps") on 01/02/2014; its growing influence on baseline reality, evident by the growing radius of effect surrounding the LTE, as well as its high risk of discovery by external parties were deemed an unignorable danger to the goals of the First (Survival) and Second (Concealment) Mission by the Council of 108. This, in conjunction with the acknowledgement of the rapidly-growing powers of the threat, resulted in the aforementioned deployment of Strike Team 0811.

Strike Team 0811 ("Soft Steps") Mission Log
[BEGIN LOG]
Three figures are positioned in an armoured vehicle outside Area-40, just beyond the reach of its surveillance. Agent Abiko peers through the lens of a sniper rifle. Agent Yamamoto stands guard. Captain Eguchi supervises.
The fences of Area-40 are covered in vivid blue.
Abiko: Hard to get a shot.
Eguchi nods.
Eguchi: The rot is deep. Take your time. Can't sniff at a Type Green, but it's still young, so our odds are not bad. And this Facility is not well-defended.
Ten minutes pass. Abiko does not move. Eguchi takes logs.
Abiko: I see a line of sight on Thule.
Eguchi examines the sightline through one of the nearby screens and nods his head.
Eguchi: Clear?
Abiko: One innocent in the room. Therapist, looks like. Or psychologist. No, two. A translator is present, too.
Eguchi: We might not get a better chance. Load explosive round. Make it the Mark Y.
Abiko reaches out, her eyes still on the scope; Yamamoto passes her the relevant round. She loads and chambers it.
Eguchi: Standby. Sitrep?
Abiko: Two corollary. Line of sight clear, blocked by one glass window.
Abiko adjusts the rifle slightly.
Eguchi: Line of sight maintained? Any alternatives?
Abiko: Not that I see. Threat appears to be highly distracted. Therapist appears to be in some distress. He's on his phone.
Eguchi: Besides the window, any other obstructions?
Abiko: It's clear. Permission to fire off?
Eguchi pauses for a second.
Eguchi: Fire.
Abiko fires off. One round soundlessly shoots out from the rifle. It smashes through a window. Noiselessly, an anomalous explosion engulfs the room containing the Threat, exploding in colours of green and orange and blue.
In the armoured vehicle, a monitoring device beeps.
Abiko: What was that?
Eguchi: Agent Yamamoto, did you see which device that was?
Yamamoto: Looks like the Akiva detector. We just got a large burst.
Eguchi: Huh, odd.
A pause. Smoke drifts out of the sniper rifle.
Eguchi: <Speaking through comms> HQ? Misidentification reported. Thule was a Type Blue. Nothing further. Requesting extraction, over.
