1.jpg
Item #: panda.png

Object Class: Euclid (?) (Provisional, or Euclid-Provisi.)

Special Containment Procedures: Researcher Santos is currently being investigated over their involvement in the creation of panda2.jpg. Personnel are to avoid mentioning 2.jpg outside of testing environments and interviews with Santos.

Further containment procedures are pending. (Is that good?) (I dunno, you tell me.)

-

Description: 3.jpg refers to a hazard of some type (? could be memetic??????) (This is hardly clinical. You can do better.) affecting mention of 4.jpg, and resembles a 5.jpg. This extends to all known mediums of communication, including verbal and written.

-

6.jpg initially manifested on 26 July 2026, when Santos called Site-55 to report the anomaly.

-

Further research is pending.

(Don't forget to include the note from the responding agent.) (Right, sorry.)

RESPONDING AGENT NOTIFICATION

Researcher Jaime Santos was in an agitated state upon being picked up by my team and I. The house was covered in 8.jpg, and they initially refused to go, but we figured this thing might be a cognitohazard so we pulled them out ASAP.

Recommending psych evaluation.

— Agent Rosenberg

The following is a log of Santos' intake interview regarding 9.jpg.

PERSONNEL PRESENT

  • Dr. Ava Langley, Parapsychology
  • Rsr. Jaime Santos, Memetics

<BEGIN LOG>

Langley: Good morning, Jaime.

[Santos weeps.]

Langley: I understand you're upset that maybe an anomaly followed you home or was created because of your work here at the Foundation. Don't worry, we aren't going to intern you unless we have to. You may have to move home, though. It's

become completely overrun by
10.jpg

[Santos continues to weep.]

Langley: Can you tell me if you recognize 11.jpg ?

-

Santos: T-t-that's my 12.jpg…

Langley: Your what? Sorry, it's just that the anomaly is—

Santos: MY FUCKING 13.jpg! AND YOU PEOPLE DRAG ME AWAY FROM 14.jpg AFTER SHE DIES?

Langley: I'm sorry, Ja—

Santos: I JUST WANTED TO GRIEVE AND LET YOU ALL KNOW WHY I WOULDN'T BE IN, BUT NOW 15.jpg IS A GOD DAMN MEMETIC AGENT OR WHATEVER! FUCK!

-

Langley: If what I am assuming to be the case is true, goodness. I am so sorry.

Santos: You're not stupid. And I am not letting anyone touch her body. 16.jpg is my baby.

Langley: I'll put in a request to the Ethics Committee. In the meantime, I would like to suggest something.

Santos: What.

Langley: Have you ever tried grief counseling therapy?

<END LOG>

(Not too shabby. We'll make an ETTRA case submitter out of you yet.)

SUBMITTING FILE FOR REVIEW…

SCP-L726

Item #: SCP-L726
18.jpg

Sample of SCP-L726 manifestation.

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Personnel working with Researcher Santos are to avoid broaching any dog-related topics of conversation within Santos' vicinity. No mentions of their deceased dog, Panda, are to be made at all. Santos has been locked out of this file, and cannot access it with their credentials.

Santos is to continue to attend therapy with Dr. Langley until such a time that SCP-L726 becomes fully neutralized.

Description: SCP-L726 refers to a narrativohazard produced when mentioning, attempting to describe, or otherwise talking, writing, or depicting Researcher Jaime Santos' deceased pet dog, Panda. When talked about, SCP-L726 will cause any mention of Panda to be replaced with an image taken by Santos of their dog while she was alive.

It is unknown whether the source of SCP-L726 is Santos or Panda. The corpse of Panda could not be studied due to intervention by both Santos and the Ethics Committee. It is buried in Santos' backyard.

Addendum L726.1: Most Recent Therapy Session

Attached below is a transcript of Santos' most recent grief counseling therapy with Dr. Langley.

PERSONNEL PRESENT

  • Dr. Ava Langley, Parapsychology
  • Rsr. Jaime Santos, Memetics

<BEGIN LOG>

Langley: Good morning, Jaime. Shall we jump right in?

Santos: Morning. Sure.

Langley: How have you been feeling?

[Santos takes a deep breath, then sighs.]

Santos: It'll have been five months on Tuesday. I— I'm still not used to not hearing her little paws pitter-pattering on my floor. I miss her.

Langley: It will never truly stop feeling this way, and that's okay. What matters is that we learn to move on, little by little.

Santos: I still buy her celery by habit. She loved celery. Would start jumping up and down for it all the time.

Langley: It's the mundane details that are often the most difficult to let go of.

[Santos chokes up. Langley offers them a tissuebox.]

Langley: But look at you. You can talk about her now. A few months ago we would be getting bombarded by… whatever that was.

Santos: I don't want to forget her.

Langley: And you never will. She will always be in your heart, in your memories, in your spirit. You will carry her with you forever.

[Santos begins to weep.]

Langley: It's okay, Jaime. It's okay to cry.

Santos: 17.jpg.

[Santos screams.]

Santos: FUCK!

Langley: Hey, it's okay. We can't expect things to be perfect. It hasn't even been a year. And it's not your fault this happens.

Santos: S-sorry.

Langley: Don't apologize. You're grieving. What you're feeling is natural.

Santos: I hardly think whatever that is… [Santos gesticulates.] …is natural.

Langley: I once had a patient who had their ancestor coming out of their rear end as a ghost. This is hardly the worst I've dealt with.

[Santos laughs slightly.]

Santos: Thank you, Ava. For everything.

Langley: Of course. By the way, I heard that Max up in Pursuit and Suppression has a dog that just had puppies. Maybe you can adopt one?

Santos: …

Langley: Just a thought! No obligation.

Santos: I've been thinking of getting a tattoo. To memorialize her.

Langley: That sounds lovely. Any idea of what?

tattoo.jpg

Oh, I've got an idea.

FROM DR. LANGLEY'S DESK

I think Jaime is just about ready to no longer need my services. I would recommend the con procs hold for now, though, but I think they are in a good spot. For these reasons, I will be requesting the article be moved to the -ARC designation.
