Description: SCP-L347 is a constellation of 26 inactive satellites (designated SCP-L347-1/DE001 to SCP-L347-26/DE026), as well as one destroyed unit (SCP-L347-27/DE027), developed and launched by the Global Occult Coalition in 1982 through 1987 as part of the "Dream Eater" Project. Initially classified as Euclid, SCP-L347 was reclassified as Thaumiel in ██/██/1998, after the Global Occult Coalition agreed to share partial details of the "Dream Eater" Project due to an unrelated incident.
SCP-L347-1 through -26 (along with SCP-L347-27 prior to its destruction) orbit the Earth at 40,000 to 45,000 km in quasi-zenith configurations. Each unit contains an amethyst tablet covered in thaumaturgic inscriptions and markings, designed to automatically harvest, analyze, and electro-thaumically transform Aspect Radiation at large scale from all across the Earth.
When active, SCP-L347 units were capable of harmlessly absorbing the reactive Aspect Radiation echoes generated by thaumaturgic workings2 and recycling the generated electricity to power their systems. The presence of SCP-L347 had reduced unexpected anomalous phenomena caused by these Aspect Radiation echoes by approximately 70% throughout its lifetime.
Addendum SCP-L347.B: Incident L347-N
SCP-L347 began demonstrating unusual activity at ██/██/2024, likely due to exponentially increased usage of thaumaturgic rituals across the world. This was known and expected by experts within both the Foundation and the Global Occult Coalition at the time, but was never acted upon.
At ██:██ UTC, ██/██/2026, unit SCP-L347-1 through -26 deactivated sequentially, likely due to the safety system detecting overload on each unit, triggering a cascade of system overload throughout the constellation. The accumulated energy caused the detonation of SCP-L347-27, as its safety system failed to shut down the unit in time. A joint operation to clean the resulting debris was proposed by the Global Occult Coalition, but was rejected by the O5 Council.
The remains of SCP-L347-27 have steadily dropped in altitude since its destruction. The debris are expected to begin re-entering Earth's atmosphere as early as 2044. As no reactivation are planned, nor could any such plan be feasibly achieved in the foreseeable future, SCP-L347 has been reclassified as Neutralized.
