Exhaustive net analysis are being made to discover the true effect of SCP-ES-337 due to SCP-ES-337-U Incident

Description: SCP-ES-337 is a phenomenon that affects non-adhesive posters, stickers, billboards and other advertising means in paper format detected in January 2026.

When one of these signs is damaged violently, the attacking subject experiences flaying wounds. The damaged skin's area is equal to that of SCP-ES-337 instance's area and the skin injury will be located in the body part which the sign was damaged with. This phenomenon expands to surrounding signs.

The teared skin shows generally unpleasant images. Some instances are described below:

  • A humanoid of unknown appearance putting a sign which says "don't touch".
  • A humanoid sitted down in the corner of a bed saying "What you don't understand!?"
  • A humanoid of menacing appearance gently holding a broken sign saying "you should not have done that".
  • A humanoid looking hand with the middle finger raised along with the sentence "last warning".

Moving away a sign without damaging it doesn't provoke damages in the subject. SCP-ES-337 does not distinguish between intentional and accidental damage, so any alteration to any anomaly's instance, even without intent, generates the same consecuences as if it was done on purpose.

SCP-ES-337-U Incident: As of 24/5/2027, the Foundation has learned of cases of people who suffered from skin injuries similar to the ones mentioned in the document after skipping an ad online, switching channel or turning off TV while an advertisment was being broadcasted.

A net analyisis has been made and it's been determined that more than 99,2% of existing advertising on Earth has been compromised by SCP-ES-337. The images in the injuries show the same humanoid laughing accompanied by mocking phrases.

The option to skip ads online has been eliminated and it's no longer possible to turn off a device or change channel while an ad is being broadcasted. The Foundation is implementing measures to restrict the use of advertising in physical format; after confirming the inefficiency of the attepts of avoiding civilian interference with SCP-ES-337 affected signs.
