This article has been in the works for around the last five months, but was almost entirely written in the last month. It's definitely been the most taxing thing I've ever written, and I will be sure to take a very very long break after this.
And now, some acknowledgements

gah! i completely forgot to commemorate +50!
this is now my highest rated scp. thank you everyone!
I'm going to novote, this was very well done with some great moments, but I didn't find the overall story or the interactive luck based style that interesting.
Criminally underrated. This is well made. It looks great, the gameplay is fun, and I find myself replaying it in my free time. Really cool.
dead antlers
this literally made my day brighter by several lumens. thank you!!!
The most interesting thing about the article is its new take on interactive article (as far as I've read). The Chancemaker and implant systems are really interesting because they add additional strategy to many decisions. For example, because of my high luck implant, I can choose the option that seems more luck dependant to increase my chance of success. This really makes the player feel more in control of the outcome of every action than other interactive articles like 8005 or PatGD 001, which is great. However, I do have some issues. The implants seem to be fairly linear (+5 luck in the elevator on the corpse), which may lead to it being repetitive on repeat playthroughs. There are also way too many stat types. This will lead to many stats almost never coming into play, making the implants feel less valuable. Perhaps the amount of stats could be lowered?
As for the actual story, I don't care much for any of the characters. None of the heist teams deaths really mean anything, since we don't spend much time with them. I liked Laufey's story about his dad, but that wasn't even real. Maybe more time could be spent in act 1 with the team? Also Moloch isn't a character at all. Overall, this isn't that big of an issue with the article, but it is a bit unfortunate.
I also like the worldbuilding a lot, but not much of it is seen outside of the explanation from Claude. I like the part where Moloch conjures up a pillow for the player, showing that the cyber world has no scarcity, but nothing like it is in the rest of the article (unless I missed something or I chose a different option). This also isn't a big deal, but I just wish the interesting worldbuilding came up more.
Act 3 also feels a bit rushed. The scene in the Underminer outpost is really short, and we barely see the underminers. Secretary's betrayal is also really quick. I do like the Reagen parts though. Possibly cutting out the Underminer outpost and having Braxton find the book on his own could make the act feel less rushed?
While I may sound negative, most of my complaints are ultimately nit-picks. This article is absolutely wonderful and one of my favourites in the contest.
(This isn't crit, I just need to vent (unseriously). I failed like 7 times because I had exactly the check requirement, but since it wasn't specified what to do in that scenario, I rolled my Chancemaker (<10 round down and fail, >10 found up and succeed (no i didn't plan for getting 10)) and got 1, so that was a bit (unseriously) frustrating.)
oh jeez, that's a lot of typos
thank you very much. this is extremely embarrassing.
Is the "the end" page supposed to be in the sandbox instead of a fragment on the main wiki?
i thought i fixed that
RAAHR I LITERALLY FIXED THAT WTF.
i apologise profusely ill fix that asap
update: i can't fix it. whatever.
This is pretty impressive, and I like what you did with the interactive aspects, however I can't say the same for the story itself. Some of the options that I can click on didn't really excite me and they didn't make me go "oh wow I like the different routes with each decision I make and seeing how these characters react with the decisions I make." I wasn't very engaged with the plot or the characters unfortunately. I like the effort you put in here, but for now I'm leaving this at a novote.
I think you already know most of my thoughts, so I'll only add new stuff:
-The D20 rolls didn't come into play nearly as much as they should have. I actually like this concept, cumbersome as it is, and I wish I had seen more of it. The ones that were there seemed a bit too easy to win (or maybe my D20 was just rolling in my favor), and I feel like there could've been a few more options (like major success if you rolled high, major failure if you rolled low, etc).
-Echoing a lack of care for most of the cast. They all felt like cardboard and hardly had anything that made them stand out. I know, deadlines. Also echoing how few of my choices really seemed to matter.
-The "black veins" anomaly is nice, but this feels like another good idea that was "wasted" (or at least underutilized) by being inserted into another SCP article. I forgive it since it does seem to add to the story a little, but honestly I feel like the original anomaly and overall story were strong enough to stand on their own. At least you didn't try to cross time-traveling historical figures with a piece of Mekhane.
If I'm being honest, I would give this one seven John Hinckleys out of ten, and part of that is due to simple spelling/grammar issues. Even so, the sheer effort it took to make all this in a short period of time is remarkable, so shut up and take my +1.
Wow, this was a WILD ride. Reaganpunk lives up to the hype. This was an actiony, fun, bizarre, surprising story with very charming and just as badass characters, a pretty sick premise, and a good execution, not to mention the of course super cool visuals. The humor did land for me, I never really felt lost and it kept me engaged throughout, so in my books, that's a pretty easy +1.
oh it, 100 percent is.
that being said, thank you so much!! me and astillo worked very hard and im happy for what you thought of it.
moloch was gonna have a face reveal and big plot twist, but guess what? deadline. act three was 10k words written in one day!
It's a shame about the deadline, but 10k words in one day is a crazy feat already ngl.
The fact you able to rush this with 10K of words alone, is feat on it's self, I hope you do bit of tinker to it, when you get the chance, friend.
I think storywise this would have too many issues for me to upvote as a linear story, but the interactive element mitigates that somewhat. The dice rolling was a fun mechanic, though I will say the options never specify what to do when rolling exactly the number. +1
this is really cool, I can never get through RPG skips because of my attention span, but I liked what I could get through (plus the idea of a God-emperor Reagan is funny to me)
also, small typo
Fear is the little death that brings obliteration.
Never in my life have I failed so many d20 rolls by exactly 1.
This article looks really cool! I put my window in full-screen so I could get the full effect, really immerse myself in it. I really like the ending, too. It's really well written, and it somehow manages to be bleak, cathartic, and a commentary on the way even the vilest demagogues are often really just puppets of a much larger and harder-to-eliminate force. The matter-of-factness of the document describing this horrific and absurd world is also, as the kids say, peak.
That said, it's very clear that this was rushed, especially in act 3. Such is k-con writing, I suppose. The things that suffer most from that are the Underminers, who get basically no development, and the atmosphere of the Cyberspace itself. I feel like a facsimile universe ruled by Ronald Reagan should have a very distinct and oppressive atmosphere, which is present in the Foundation facility and to a lesser extent in the vault, but mostly absent elsewhere. I want to know what Moloch's deal is, and I want to really see what this gnarly capitalist cyberhell looks like.
Lastly, I have mixed feelings about the dice rolls. It was fun and kept me engaged, but at the same time it seemed like most failed rolls would just kill me and boot me back to the last checkpoint. That's no good, because if I just restart from someplace else, then the only real consequence of my failure was frustration, and not anything that really mattered to the narrative.
I am waffling between an upvote and a novote.
