Item #: SCP-9059
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-9059 is to be kept in a 10m x 10m concrete chamber, with each surface lined with magnesium diboride. The chamber is to be kept below -234℃ at all times to ensure superconductivity, and all nearby metal is to be kept behind the walls in case of an attempt by SCP-9059 to assimilate it into its form.
SCP-9059 is to be viewed via an observation window on the southern wall, no metal research materials of any kind are permitted, and staff are to wear uniforms with all metal absent.
Additionally, a routine safety check is to be conducted regularly to ensure no metal is present in the room as well as to check the activity and potential attempts of a containment breach by SCP-9059.
Description: SCP-9059 is a 1m x 1m sphere composed of an unknown alloy similar in appearance to bronze, there is currently no known way to damage or destroy it. SCP-9059 has what appears to be a singular eye on the front of it, the eye appears to be functional rather than a decoration, as it has been observed to blink and dilate. The eye is surrounded by unknown runes; all attempts at translating these runes have led to failure.
SCP-9059 is highly magnetic, and appears to be able to control metals in a similar way to telekinesis. It typically uses this power to form limbs to move around, although it can float if needed. SCP-9059 has been observed to grow to extremely large sizes if exposed to large amounts of metal.
SCP-9059 is usually neutral, however, when it is threatened, or something is stopping it from growing, it will enter a state of rage. When agitated, SCP-9059 will become extremely violent, even being observed to throw objects or use trees or other large objects as weapons, even as advanced as using a tank as a gun or a small building as a club.
SCP-9059 was discovered on 13/3/2013 in Russia, at which point it was 30m tall, the subsequent containment operation inflicted 14 deaths, and 20 injuries.
Addendum: On 23/8/2013, Dr Bran unknowingly entered the observation zone with a metal fountain pen, which lead SCP-9059 to pull both him and the pen into its chamber, (Metal detectors were subsequently added to both the entrance of the containment and observation zone, and the glass was blast proofed.) Dr Bran died on impact with SCP-9059, and SCP-9059 breached containment via the entrance to the observation zone.
A mass containment breach ensued, as SCP-9059 proceeded to assimilate the metal from other anomalies’ containment chambers, allowing them to breach containment. SCP-9059 then made its way to gate B, before assimilating it into its body, and leaving site-25.
After the repair and recovery operations of other anomalies, SCP-9059 was recovered on 23/12/2015.
