I'm getting worried. I thought I had stopped this long ago. Why is it all suddenly coming back slowly?

Multiple instances of SCP-8676-1.

SCP-8676 is contained within a standard humanoid containment chamber in Site-47, which is outfitted with 1 Scranton Reality Anchors (SRA) consistent with containment of Class II ontokinetic entities. It is to be fed on a thrice-daily basis with a Class-B1 diet. SCP-8676 is allowed to engage in social activities during designated periods. SCP-8676 is to be restrained and sedated when not following protocol or displaying aggressive behavior. It may only be visited by Head Researcher Austin Walton. and Researcher William Knox.

SCP-8676 is not to come into contact with marking equipment such as pencils, pens, or chalks. The usage of marking equipment in testing must be approved by the Head Researcher.

SCP-8676's sleeping pattern must be controlled through designated time periods to maximize results from testing and operations.

SCP-8676 (2024)

SCP-8676 is Angela Acosta, a 24-year-old female humanoid of average height. It possesses dark brown hair and brown eyes. SCP-8676 was born in Lisbon, Portugal, and is of Portuguese descent.

SCP-8676 is an ontokinetic1 entity capable of exhibiting Class II reality-bending properties,2 but the activation of these capabilities is limited.

SCP-8676's anomalous properties activate when it draws symbols using tools such as pencils, markers, and even liquids such as paint. The symbols are designated as SCP-8676-1 and can vary in shape and style. These symbols are unidentified, but some instances have shown ties to culture, mythology, and folklore. When making an instance of SCP-8676-1, SCP-8676's internal Hume3 levels rise to 60-80.

Once SCP-8676 has finished making an instance of SCP-8676-1, a low to medium severity change in reality will occur. Past examples of this include:

  • Accelerating plant growth.
  • Altering information on books and electronic software.
  • Allowing a Junior Researcher's voice to be heard from his ID photo.
  • Producing an equestrian statue entirely out of beryllium bronze.4
  • Influencing a lightning bolt to strike an armored vehicle.

These changes may last in an instant or for a prolonged period. SCP-8676 cannot directly control the changes it can make or know what the changes are capable of.

SCP-8676's brain activity during dreaming.

SCP-8676's knowledge of these symbols comes from dreaming. Analysis of SCP-8676's limbic system and visual cortex reveals that these become more active than standard brain activity. Additionally, minor Hume, EVE5, and Akiva radiation6 readings can be detected. After dreaming, SCP-8676 possesses knowledge of a single instance of SCP-8676-1. When questioned, SCP-8676 is unable to comprehend the dream clearly but suggests that there is an underlying significance or purpose that influences the symbol's capacity to alter reality. However, one constant point is that it always completely sees the instance of SCP-8676-1 when dreaming.

SCP-8676 was discovered on 10/06/2025 by UIU agents investigating a hot spot of anomalous individuals who were all taken into custody by Foundation agents.

The nature of SCP-8676's anomalous properties presented an opportunity to benefit the Foundation's operations. Testing was proposed to place SCP-8676 in a state of unconsciousness through general anesthesia and then using experimental neurotechnology MORPHNOS7 to induce constructed dreams in SCP-8676's brain that handle dreaming. SCP-8676 will then be placed into a suitable chamber to demonstrate its abilities and assess whether the changes MORPHNOS made were successful or not. A Scranton Reality Anchor will be placed to control SCP-8676's abilities if the changes are unsuccessful.

Below is a condensed log of initial testing.

Researcher William Knox has been assigned to speak with SCP-8676 weekly due to it being more communicable and willing to cooperate.

On 08/07/2025, after a series of prolonged tests, MORPHNOS successfully influenced SCP-8676 to create a single piece of effective synthetic oriykalkos. The following day, an incident occurred as the specialist team prepared to mass-produce various items that would support Foundation operations.

After SCP-8676 had recovered, it was given 42 hours to recuperate and undergo a full analysis to understand why the incident had occurred. Brain scans indicate that SCP-8676 has been experiencing an anomalous nightmare, which is caused by escalating stress levels. The areas of the brain responsible for processing emotions such as fear and negative emotions, as well as memory and emotional regulation, show increased activity compared to those of typical humans. It is believed that SCP-8676's over-exposure to MORPHNOS induced these anomalous nightmares and weakened SCP-8676 physically.

Having Trouble Dreaming Angela?

A solution has been developed by the Special Technology Applications Group (STAG) and the Department of Ontokinetics that can help stabilize SCP-8676's long-term exposure to MORPHNOS by implementing various paratechnologies suited to address its issues. However, before the specialist team could initiate this, SCP-8676 was found to have inflicted self-injury and then used its blood to make an instance of SCP-8676-1. The instance of SCP-8676-1 created caused an earthquake of magnitude 5.3 within Site-47. SCP-8676 has been restrained in its cell and administered sedatives. Additionally, a Scranton Reality Anchor has been fitted to its cell.

On 28/06/2025, Researcher William Knox was discovered to have been bringing an earlier portable version of MORPHNOS, a black marker, and a piece of paper to SCP-8676's cell. Dr. Knox had used MORPHNOS on SCP-8676 while it was sleeping.

After the incident, Researcher William Knox faced punishment; his position was demoted to Junior Researcher, and he is now primarily assigned to SCP-1492 and various other anomalies. SCP-8676 will now continue undergoing the operation, and its privileges have been revoked.

After the incident, Researcher William Knox has been continuously displaying unusual behavior working on Site-47 ever since he was exposed to the instance of SCP-8676-1. He disappeared shortly on 31/07/2025. A team was dispatched to search for Dr. Knox, starting with his residence, where they found signs of a fight, a deceased male,15 and various amounts of notes and video logs. The following video is taken from Dr. Knox's phone. No other relevant content was found.

Below is a condensed log of the contents found.

On 02/08/2025, personnel discovered a digital message from an unidentified source in Site-47's network.
