Special Containment Procedures: A perimeter measuring 20km2 is to be set up around SCP-8554 and be guarded by Foundation security forces at all times.
Any individuals of Maya descent/origin are to be kept at a minimum distance of 120km2 away from SCP-8554. Should any individual of Maya descent/origin come within the minimum distance, they are to be terminated as soon as possible. Attempting to administer any amnestics or directly interact with SCP-8554-A Instances is strictly forbidden.

Description: SCP-8554 is a triadic pyramid located in the ancient Maya city of Calakmul, often referred to as Structure II. SCP-8554's base measures 120m2 and stands at 45 meters tall. Located in the remains of Structure-2A of SCP-8554 are two indestructible, immovable boxes made of limestone. Despite their unbreakable nature, one box is open and was presumably looted; the remaining box is still unopened, however, all attempts to view the contents of it have been unsuccessful. In addition to these anomalous boxes, the temple itself has an anomalous effect on human consciousnesses, specifically on those related to ethnic Maya groups.
When an individual of Maya descent comes within 110km2 of SCP-8554, they will enter a trance state1and immediately begin traveling toward SCP-8554, no matter the distance or obstacle. During this state, the Instance is emotionally and mentally unreachable by any means and will respond violently to any being that attempts to interfere with its objective. In addition to this, Instances will ignore all bodily needs and will display an immunity to all pain and shock. As a result of these effects, Instances are to be avoided at all costs and treated with utmost caution. Despite the lack of cognitive function, Instances are still capable of speech, although all of what they speak is an unknown dialect of Mayan. Attempts to translate this dialect have been unsuccessful.
There is no observable pattern in which these Instances appear and attempting to create one between appearances has been to no avail.
Once an SCP-8554-A Instance has reached SCP-8554, there are three possible Courses of Action the Instance could take. There is no predictable pattern between the CoAs, and all of them result in the death of the Instance.
- CoA 1: The Instance arrives at the base of SCP-8554 and begins ascending SCP-8554 to reach Structure-2A. Upon reaching and entering Structure-2A, the Instance attempts to open the remaining box to no avail. The Instance will then go as far as to begin assaulting the box, an action that leaves the Instance physically disabled and leads to their death, often via starvation or dehydration.
- CoA 2: The Instance arrives at the base of SCP-8554 and begins ascending SCP-8554 to reach Structure-2B. Upon reaching and entering Structure-2B, the Instance begins to claw at the floor in an attempt to dig beneath the structure. Eventually, the Instance will attempt to breach the floor via brute force, often leading to the Instance bashing their head against the floor, resulting in death.
- CoA 3: The Instance arrives at the base of SCP-8554 and begins ascending SCP-8554 until it reaches Structure-2A. Upon reaching and entering Structure-2A, the Instance will start to claw and rip at its own chest until they have created an open cavity. If the Instance survives this process, it will then attempt to rip out its own heart and hold it above its head while chanting unintelligibly. The Instance will hold this position eventually succumbing to its wounds.
Discovery: SCP-8554 was discovered on 11/6/20██ in the Mexican state of Campeche after Field Agent Ernesto Barrón went AWOL while searching for [REDACTED]. Soon after Agent Barrón went AWOL, his tracker continued on a linear path for two days until it stopped in the location of what is now known as SCP-8554, where it remained for approximately three days until a recovery team was sent. Once a recovery team was dispatched to Agent Barrón's location, his body was found just above a pile made of several other unidentified bodies inside Structure-2A of SCP-8554. Along with this, another pile of bodies was found inside of Structure-2B of SCP-8554.
Addendum-1: On 16/6/20██, a Foundation perimeter was established around the city of Calakmul in order to investigate the circumstances surrounding Agent Barrón's disappearance and death.
Addendum-2: Following the events that occurred on 18/6/20██, the investigation of Agent Barrón's death has been halted to refocus efforts on researching the anomalous structure that is now classified as SCP-8554. The following is archived information and footage of the investigation led by Lead Researcher Luna Moore.

Dr. Moore: (Whispering) It's on, cool.
Dr. Moore: I am Doctor Luna Moore and the lead researcher of this anomalous investigation. My team and I are currently investigating and researching a triadic pyramid that has been given the designation of SCP-8554. This comes after an incident during the original death investigation of Field Agent Ernesto Barrón wherein "anomalously resilient" individuals trespassed the Foundation perimeter and severely injured a lot of on-site personnel.
This is the first entry of that investigation. We're currently set up in front of 8554 itself. In order to do that, we had to cut down a lot of trees and I feel a little bad about it, but honestly, the city's too large and it's too hot to walk across that much distance, that many times.
First impressions of the area are "normal" for the most part, given its story. Matter of fact, when we began setting couple of hours ago, a personnel member found another body in the very top ruins of the temple. The strangest part is that, that body somehow appeared there in between the two investigations, and how it got there is still unknown.
[Dr. Moore looks slightly disgusted and nods.]
I've seen the pictures and it's just horrific. The poor guy's body was limp and distorted kind of like an octopus and his bones were sticking out any way they could. Even worse was his legs, they were like-like tree stumps almost. Th-They were swollen and black and riddled with holes.
I'm getting off-topic.
Honestly, other than that, there isn't much to note as of now because it really just looks like an old temple, and I wouldn't suspect a thing if it weren't for its history. I'll go into more detail regarding the SCP once we've settled in, but this is just an official notice that the investigation has begun.
[Dr. Moore looks around as if she were looking for something.]
Oh! I just remembered.
One last thing I do to have note is that there is an absurd amount of snakes everywhere, and granted, it's a jungle, but this is different. It's actually incredible just how many snakes there are in the area, and, notably, this is after Foundation personnel had removed most of the snakes again.
Interestingly enough, I was told that after the first removal, most snakes had returned during the initial investigation, which really makes no sense because the amount of activity that was going on would have driven most, if not all, wildlife away. Yet these snakes were not only removed, but they even returned, which is incredibly weird. I'm not a zoologist, so I don't know what to make of this behavior, but I believe it's strange regardless.
So, yeah, other than the bizarre behavior, there's nothing to note other than that the investigation has begun.
[Dr. Moore reaches over to the camera.]

Dr. Moore: And, now.
[Dr. Moore stands up from her seat.]
Dr. Moore: This is entry two of the investigation of SCP-8554 and the first "official" entry.
Dr. Moore: These fine individuals beside me were selected by the Foundation to aid in investigation and research of SCP-8554.
[Dr. Moore looks to her left and a white, brown haired man wearing a tour guide style outfit stands up.]
Dr. Chali: I am Doctor Leo Chali and the Senior Historian assigned to SCP-8554.

[Dr. Martello tugs his collar.]
Dr. Martello: It's hot over here, man.
Dr. Yanez: You didn't feel it on the way here?
Dr. Martello: I didn't think it'd be this bad.
Dr. Chali: Can we get an HVAC tech down here?
Dr. Martello: And put the A/C where?
Dr. Chali: Mini splits exist.
Dr. Moore: Alright, enough socializing, did everyone read the incident report?
Dr. Chali: Yup.
Dr. Martello: Mhm.
Dr. Yanez: Yes.
Dr. Moore: What are we thinking?
[All members look around knowingly.]
Dr. Martello: Mind control.
Dr. Moore: Yeah, figures. I was thinking that too, hence the camera.
Dr. Yanez: Just in case?
Dr. Moore: You never know.
Dr. Martello: Now we're just looking at why and how, yes?
Dr. Moore: Mhm.
Dr. Moore: Any mention of mind control from folklore or culture?
[Both Dr. Yanez and Dr. Chali disagree in unison.]
Dr. Chali: Even if it did, I wouldn't know. I only starting researching this particular region when I was assigned.
Dr. Chali: All I know right now is that we are in the "City of snakes" and apparently we've been using "Mayan" wrong this whole time.
Dr. Yanez: Yeah, not a lot is known about the Mayas in terms of tales or folklore, at least compared to the Aztecs. Most of their gods don't even have names.
Dr. Yanez: We call them "God" and then follow that up with a letter. Like God F, well actually that one has a name, but you get my point.
Dr. Moore: At least we have a starting point, even if it's a bad one.
Dr. Martello: What about the snakes?
Dr. Moore: What about them?
Dr. Martello: The report says here that when the trespassers appeared the snakes were biting them nonstop.
Dr. Moore: You think being mind controlled has something to do with the snakes?
Dr. Martello: That's my suggestion.
Dr. Moore: That would make sense, especially from the pictures of the most recent trespasser. His legs, if you guys have seen them.
Dr. Chali: We did, unfortunately.
Dr. Moore: My main concern is why?
Dr. Moore: Based on all we know, these trespassers walk through dozens of snakes and up the temple, only to kill themselves when they reach the top.
Dr. Yanez: I think it's too early to try and piece it together, we just got here.
Dr. Moore: I guess, but…
Dr. Martello: What is it?
Dr. Moore: I just feel like- like, I don't know.
Dr. Martello: You're thinking we're on a timer?
Dr. Moore: Yeah.
Dr. Chali: That's a scary thought.
Dr. Yanez: Hey, we don't know for certain.
Dr. Moore: Well, I don't exactly want to stay and try.

[Footage shows four individuals in a tent sitting at a table that is covered in scattered folders and has been rotated to ensure the that faces of all people are somewhat visible.]
Dr. Moore: So, what did you guys find?
Dr. Chali: Oh, we did some finding.
Dr. Chali: So, we did some searching and found out more about the history of Structure II. According to known history, SCP-8554 was constructed sometime during the Late Pre-Classic Period, so from about 300 BC – 150 AD.
Dr. Chali: However, that's not all. During its lifetime, it underwent a lot reconstruction, just some minor additions here and there, except one. In the fifth century, or during the Classic Period, they nearly rebuilt the whole thing.
Dr. Chali: I'm talking stacking another temple on top of the old one kind of reconstruction. Officially, this was because the new rulers wanted more chambers for whatever they needed and if the records are to be trusted, all they built over was some old tombs of past rulers.
Dr. Moore: And you guys are thinking different?
Dr. Chali: Naturally.
Dr. Moore: What are you thinking?
Dr. Yanez: Okay, so for context, snakes in the Maya religion were basically their messengers and link to the gods. So, if there was ever a way for gods and mortals to talk or communicate, a snake would be that bridge.
Dr. Yanez: As you know, we're in Calakmul, the "City of snakes" or "Snake Kingdom". Seems like a no brainer, City of snakes has dozens of snakes, but that's not why it's called that. That name can be traced back to it's rulers who wore serpent related garments. Now, that's intriguing and all, but what we're interested in is, in Maya culture, their rulers were often revered as gods.
Dr. Yanez: While that didn't happen all the time, and the history of Calakmul is a little unclear about what they thought about its rulers, generally speaking if there was a ruler of a city this big, chances are, the Mayas thought that they were a god.
Dr. Moore: I think I know what you're getting at.
Dr. Moore: You think the gods told them to rebuild the temple?
[Dr. Chali points toward Dr. Moore.]
Dr. Chali: Bingo!
Dr. Moore: That's definitely a conclusion, but we got both good and bad news.
Dr. Martello: Yeah, it's something.
Dr. Moore: So, you know about the indestructible boxes up top, right? Well, we went and tried to open the other one again to no avail. During this process, we found out that the floor of Structure-2A is also indestructible. So, we went all over the temple and found out that those are the only two places on SCP-8554 that are like that.
Dr. Moore: This is kind of why I like that god theory, because why just the boxes and floor? Even better, why is any of it indestructible? Y'know, maybe the gods did help.
Dr. Moore: However, we then tried to x-ray the box, nothing. According to the scans, it is literally just a cube of limestone. After that, we tried to x-ray the entirety of SCP-8554 and again, nothing. Despite not being physically anomalous in any other way that we know, the scans show that 8554 is pure limestone, there's nothing in or under it.
Dr. Yanez: Wha- Are you sure?
Dr. Moore: One hundred percent, look at this.
[Dr. Moore reaches for a folder in front of her and pulls out out four papers. She hands the papers to Dr. Yanez.]
[Dr. Yanez stares at the paper in confusion.]
Dr. Yanez: (Under her breath) The hell?
[Dr. Yanez hands the papers to Dr. Chali and he begins examining the papers.]
Dr. Yanez: How is that even possible? The records show centuries of construction! This is like if they dragged a giant cube here and then carved it down from there.
Dr. Chali: Holy shit, you're right.
Dr. Chali: This is definitely some sort of anomaly, t-that just isn't… real.
Dr. Yanez: There's no way they lied about that for centuries. Do you think that's another anomalous property?
Dr. Martello: We think so, but it wouldn't make sense.
Dr. Martello: The only thing we know for certain to be an anomaly aside from the temple's affect itself is Structure-2A and that's due to it's indestructible properties. That could partially explain why we can't get a scan into the box. What doesn't make sense the rest of SCP-8554 also sharing this unscannable property despite not being indestructible.
Dr. Martello: Physically speaking, aside from Structure-2A, SCP-8554 is just a regular old ruined temple.
Dr. Moore: I don't want to say that everything recorded until now has been a giant lie, but I'm skept-
[A man opens the tent entrance off-camera and yells unintelligibly. All members turn to look at him.]
Dr. Moore: What?! Are you sure?! Three?!

Dr. Moore: (Sighs) I don't even know where to start.
Dr. Martello: Listen, I think it was the right call.
Dr. Chali: Really? What could have we learned from any of them? How durable the human skull is? How resistant humans are when they ignore snake bites?
Dr. Yanez: Better than letting them kill themselves.
Dr. Chali: (Scoffs) Yeah, okay. Instead of them killing themselves we do it for them but only when they are about to die, how merciful. Matter of fact, what did you learn Martello?
Dr. Martello: I- It's information we got. Like when you said the two up top started chanting, we could translate that, right Yanez?
Dr. Yanez: We could possibly, yeah, but the problem is we didn't record a thing they said.
Dr. Chali: Fucking perfect. So we just watched three people march through hundreds of snake only for two of them to literally rip themselves apart and the other one bash her own brain into mush for nothing.
Dr. Martello: No, we learned something.
Dr. Chali: Like what?
Dr. Martello: Amnestics don't work on them, we learned that! I don't know about you, but I think that's pretty useful!
Dr. Chali: I'll give you that, it's useful, so we know not to waste supplies and instead just shoot them. Oh, wait! We didn't even do that! Lying in a pool of blood on death's doorstep and only then did we kill them!
Dr. Moore: Okay, enough! I need to think!
[The tent is quiet for a while until Dr. Moore breaks the silence.]
Dr. Moore: What happened was fucked up, I know, but realistically speaking, we have to let more come in.
Dr. Chali: What?!
Dr. Moore: I don't want to hear any protest, we can either fight about what to do with the Instances or we can be fucking professionals and deal with this properly.
Dr. Moore: Now, did anyone observe anything significant about the Instances before we killed them?
Dr. Martello: Aside from the amnestics, I noticed that the Instance that stayed at Structure-2B started clawing at the floor.
Dr. Moore: Anybody else?
[The tent goes silent for a few seconds.]
Dr. Moore: Okay, from here on out, here's how we do this. We're going to let in every Instance and let them carry out their objective, however, if we see that any of them are repeating the same path as a previous one, it will be terminated on the spot. In addition to this, I want a recording of every Instance that performs a different action. So, start recording any Instances and if they're terminated, just scrap it.
Dr. Moore: Yanez is right, we didn't record any of what they said and that can and will cost us lives and time. Another thing I will focus on is why this happening to only certain people. I just need a few more Instances and autopsies. Clearly something about the Instances makes them susceptible to whatever mind control or possession this is. Whether it's something they eat, drink, have, or done.
Dr. Moore: None of us here have been affected so far, even during first investigation, all personnel were fine and the only time Instances were recorded, they were random people from different places. So this clearly isn't a close proximity thing.
Dr. Moore: The faster we find out why this happens, the faster we can hopefully stop it. This means you guys aren't going to waste a second of the time we're given, are we clear?
[All other members agree in unison.]
Dr. Moore: Starting now, we're just going to continue our research as usual and I'll call us back here if something comes up in the results.

Dr. Moore: Alright, you guys have something?
Dr. Chali: Yeah, I think you'll like it. So, Yanez and I were observing the behavioral pattern of the Instance that appeared two days ago. We noticed that when it started clawing the floor it didn't stop no matter what, only when it's fingers became so damaged that using them wasn't an option, did the Instance switch to using it's head.
Dr. Chali: After switching to it's head, it didn't stop until it was dead. That's desperation or dedication, depending on how you look at it.
Dr. Moore: Your point being?
Dr. Yanez: We think everything they do has a purpose. For example, a week ago, when the two Instances up in Structure-2A did their thing, they essentially did their own version of a human sacrifice.
Dr. Yanez: We know that, like the Aztecs, the Mayas often did human sacrifices and one of the most significant and common methods of doing this was by taking the still beating heart out of a person. The heart was viewed as one of the best offerings you could give to a god. This, in part with the chanting that was heard could be significant.
Dr. Moore: Back to the gods?
Dr. Chali: You got a better theory?
Dr. Moore: Not right now. Was that it?
Dr. Chali: Well, no, we also think the snakes play a bigger part than we realize. We've been thinking about this for days.
Dr. Moore: Go on.
Dr. Yanez: If we're right in the theory that everything they do has a purpose, we think the snakes also have one. We think that the Instances and snakes are parts of two different forces at play.
Dr. Yanez: Think about it, the Instances try their hardest to make it up to SCP-8554 so much so that they ignore all pain and get violent with any thing that tries to stop them. The snakes on the other hand try their hardest to stop them, so much so that the snakes will relentlessly attack and bite the Instances until their legs are nothing but giant stumps.
Dr. Chali: It gets even better when you actually consider what the Instances are doing on SCP-8554. The non-stop digging in Structure-2B? The self sacrifice in Structure-2A? Even the Instance that was found before our investigation started, all evidence points to the idea that it was trying to break the box, but obviously couldn't.
Dr. Chali: If you look at it a certain way, this is just a giant cycle where nothing works. The snakes are terrible security and the Instances aren't strong enough to do anything.
Dr. Moore: Okay, well, that's a lot to take in.
Dr. Chali: Wait, we have one more thing.
Dr. Moore: What is it?
Dr. Yanez: We want you to approve the breaching of the floor of Structure-2B.
Dr. Martello: What?!
Dr. Chali: Sounds insane, we know, but if we're right in the theory that everything they do has a purpose, we could be looking at a big discovery here.
Dr. Moore: Okay, but we already established that there is possibly nothing in SCP-8554, for all we know the Instances are just digging at a giant rock.
Dr. Yanez: Just humor us.
[Dr. Moore leans back in her chair and looks around the tent as if contemplating.]
Dr. Moore: Okay, let's say you are right and the snakes are, in fact, protecting SCP-8554 for whatever reason. What's to stop them from rushing up there and eating us? You do realize we are outnumbered, like, ten to one, right?
Dr. Yanez: Yeah, but when's the last time you've seen them go up there? Never. They always stop the moment the Instance touches SCP-8554.
Dr. Moore: That's true, but hold on. You haven't explained what could be under Structure-2B.
[Dr. Chali picks up a large rolled up paper from his side and spreads it over the table.]
Dr. Chali: Take a look at this.
Dr. Chali: It's a schematic of what should be under Structure-2B's surface.
[Dr. Chali points to something on the paper.]
Dr. Moore: That's just a tomb. You think whatever is causing all of this is in there?
Dr. Chali: Precisely.
Dr. Moore: Okay, I like this, it's clearly got thought behind it, but what if whatever is down there, is down there for a reason?
Dr. Yanez: Well… we could contain it, kind of our whole thing, no?
[Dr. Moore looks over to Dr. Martello.]
Dr. Martello: I think they're onto something, honestly.
[Dr. Moore looks back at them.]
Dr. Moore: I'll think about, there's a lot that could go wrong, but if it can lead to more discoveries, I guess it's worth considering.

Dr. Moore: Alright, I have big news everybody.
Dr. Moore: So, today, I got the autopsy results for all the most recent Instances, even the ones that appeared yesterday. I had the Instances tested for nearly everything and what came back was, hopefully, a point in the right direction.
Dr. Moore: In terms of things the Instances consumed, it was normal for the area and the people, as for diseases you had nothing special, just the occasional flu and other local illnesses that varied. It wasn't something in the water either, if that were the case, we'd all be dead.
Dr. Chali: Just tell us, please.
Dr. Moore: The tests revealed that the one thing that all Instances had in common was their genetic relation to the Maya people. For more proof, I had the Foundation send me the genetic profile of Agent Barrón and it turns out that he was also related to the Maya peoples.
Dr. Chali: What do you mean the Maya people, because they weren't one civilization like the Aztecs.
Dr. Moore: I quite literally mean anybody that was considered "Maya", I made sure these tests were thorough.
Dr. Moore: Now, here's where it gets a little worse because it turns out that Barrón and one other Instance were only about four percent related to the Mayas. This means that even if it just a sliver of DNA, they were marked.
Dr. Chali: Damn.
Dr. Martello: I don't want to be that guy, but what does this mean for the investigation?
Dr. Moore: For starters, we're not on a timer like previously thought. Secondly, I've been thinking more on why this is happening specifically to them. Right now, I'm thinking it's some sort of ritual or an ancestral curse, maybe the Mayas sold their souls or their own people.
Dr. Chali: Now you're getting it!
Dr. Moore: That being said, I think it's still a very radical idea.
Dr. Chali: You're still on the right track.
Dr. Moore: Right.
Dr. Yanez: I also have some… news if you could call it that. It may not be as significant as Moore's, but it still worth mentioning.
Dr. Yanez: So, I was analyzing the footage of the Instance that "sacrificed" itself yesterday and I don't really don't know what it was saying. I mean, I know they are speaking Mayan to some degree, but it's not understandable.
Dr. Yanez: It's like the different between Portuguese and Spanish, but in this case, I only know Spanish. I tried cross referencing the chanting with videos of people actually speaking Mayan languages, I tried looking in the Foundation database for anything similar, but of course, they only have one, Yucatec.
Dr. Yanez: So, even after all this, I can only make out, at most, three words. So, I translated those three and got-
[Dr. Yanez picks up a paper in front of her.]
Dr. Yanez: "Will", "Corn", and "Offering". Keep in mind, these are the direct translations, in context they could mean anything. I'm not even sure that one means "offering" because there is about five different ways to say it. I think I need another Instance.
Dr. Moore: Well… until-
[A man opens the tent entrance off-camera and says something unintelligibly. All members turn to look at him. The man walks into frame and delivers a paper to Dr. Moore. Dr. Moore examines the paper and the man leaves.]
Dr. Moore: That's convenient.
Dr. Martello: Oh, is that it?
Dr. Chali: Wait, really? They approved it?
Dr. Moore: Yup, the Foundation said they'll send an MTF down ASAP. Which one? I don't know, it doesn't say.
Dr. Martello: Took them long enough, I was thinking we might see another ten Instances before they responded.
Dr. Moore: Yanez, depending on when they get here, you might have to wait on your research, we're gonna need you for this.
Dr. Yanez: I know.

[BEGIN LOG]
[Footage shows Cpt. Guerrero's squad standing in the ruins of Structure-2B around Melix and Mendez planting C4 explosives on the floor.]
Guerrero: Is the feed coming through?
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) Yeah, cameras are good for everybody.
Guerrero: Like the doctor said, it's starting approach 8554, so you guys almost done?
Mendez: Yeah.
Thorn: You guys are sure this won't open up a hole and just swallow us?
Dr. Chali: (Over radio) Something like that.
Thorn: What? What does that mean? Hello?
Beckett: (Chuckling) You're scared?
Thorn: You never know man, we could breach this right now and next thing you know, I'm some eldritch horror's personal toy.
Morris: You? You're ugly-ass? Hell nah, they'd want me.
Beckett: You think you could take it?
Morris: If I'm being real, I think I could. Y'know, back in basic-
Mendez: We're set.
[Mendez and Melix get up and walk down the stairs, just below the floor of Structure-2B.]
[The rest of Guerrero's squad follows and kneels near a ladder placed on the stairs.]
Guerrero: Alright, blow it.
[Melix grabs a detonator from her belt and squeezes it.]
[An explosion can be heard and debris falls all around the squad.]
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) Oh, shit.
Guerrero: What?
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) Don't be alarmed but the snakes are staring at you or at least up at SCP-8554.
Guerrero: We should be fine, right?
[The camera turns to face down the stairs of SCP-8554 to see tents side by side with the rest being hidden by trees. Guerrero stares for a minute.]
Guerrero: What are they doing now?
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) Still staring, all of them.
Thorn: I fuckin' told you man.
Melix: Shut up. They already told us something like this might happen.
[The squad stays frozen.]
Guerrero: Are they coming up here?
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) No, they're just looking at you guys.
Guerrero: Fuck it.
[Guerrero grabs the ladder and signals to his squad.]
[They all stand up and go investigate the explosion.]
Guerrero: Anything on the snakes?
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) Still staring.
[The squad reaches the hole in Structure-2B.]
Mendez: What's suppose to be down here again?
Dr. Chali: (Over radio) Well, technically a tomb but-
[Guerrero kneels right in front of the hole and places the ladder in the entrance.]
[The sunlight shines and illuminates half of the chamber, leaving the other half in the shade.]
Guerrero: A tomb you said? Just a room.
Guerrero: Wait, hold on.
[Guerrero reaches toward his helmet and turns on the light, revealing a stairway directly opposite him.]
Dr. Yanez: (Over radio) Holy shit.
Thorn: That wasn't in the schematics, was it?
Dr. Yanez: (Over radio) It was not.
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) Sorry to interrupt, but the Instance is here.
Guerrero: Alright, remember, don't touch 'em. At all.
[Guerrero's squad returns to the stairs of SCP-8554 and waits.]
Morris: What were they saying about it being a chance thing?
Beckett: Some shit about the Instances being inconsistent with where they go. That's why they told us to kill it if it walks past.
Mendez: Definitely better than what Dr. Martello was talking about.
Beckett: Ah, you didn't see the videos?
Mendez: You did? After he described them, I was like, fuck that.
Beckett: It's bad, man.
Guerrero: (Scoffs) Don't worry, Mendez, you're bouta see it live. All one thousand snake bites in full glory.
Melix: Hey, look.
[Guerrero turns to face down the stairs of SCP-8554. The Instance can be seen walking from in between the tents while ripping dozens of snakes off its body.]
Beckett: Goddamn.
Thorn: My god, that is fuuucked up.
[In the right side of the frame, Thorn can be seen reaching down and lightly brushing his leg.]
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) Don't worry, they'll stop when he gets to the temple.
Thorn: That doesn't help.
[The Instance continues dragging their swollen legs until they've reached SCP-8554 at which point the snakes stop biting and slither back.]
[The Instance begins walking up the left side of the stairs and in response the squad moves to the opposite side.]
Guerrero: Let's just hope first time's the charm.
[The Instance's eventually passes by Guerrero's squad and they trail behind it soon after.]
Thorn: You think it'll use the ladder?
Morris: Fuck, I hope so.
[The Instance reaches the hole and just stands there.]
Thorn: Should w-
[The Instance walks over the hole as if there was a floor and falls.]
[An audible crunch and squishy sound can be heard.]
Guerrero: (Sighs) Lets just make it quick.
[The squad walks up to the hole and looks down to see the Instance slowly dragging itself, leaving behind a trail of blood.]
[The squad goes down the ladder.]
Morris: Yeah, that ain't right.
[The squad turns on their lights and follows the Instance down the staircase.]
[The walls of the staircase are covered in Mayan hieroglyphics and at the end of the stairway is a vaguely colorful wall.]
Dr. Yanez: (Over radio) How are you guys not freaking out right now?
Guerrero: Maybe we're just not as connected to this place.
[Guerrero looks up and down the walls as he descends.]
Dr. Chali: (Over radio) We told you!
Guerrero: Anything wrong?
Dr. Chali: (Over radio) Ah, my bad, hot mic.
[Guerrero continues and follows the Instance crawling down the stairs until it reaches the end where it pauses.]
[The camera looks up to see a small room with two dark passages on both sides and a mural on the opposite wall.]
Dr. Yanez: (Over radio) That's… something. Can you-
[The Instance begins crawling toward the right corridor.]
Guerrero: Do you think the art is important?
Dr. Yanez: I would say so, but if you nee-
[Guerrero turns around and looks at his squad.]
Guerrero: Thorn, show the doctors around.
[Thorn nods.]
Guerrero: You three, go left. Mendez and I are gonna follow the poor bastard.
Beckett: Lucky fucker.
Thorn: (Chuckles)
Dr. Yanez: (Over radio) If you don't mind, we're going to switch to another channel.
Guerrero: Do your thing.
[Guerrero and Mendez follow the Instance into the passage and see it dragging itself down another stairway that leads in the direction opposite of the previous stairway.]
Mendez: Can't believe this thing is still bleeding.
Guerrero: Yeah, careful. Last thing we want is to slip into him.
Mendez: You believe Dr. Moore?
Guerrero: About what?
Mendez: That it doesn't feel pain.
Guerrero: Well, it hasn't really shown signs of pain, if anything.
Mendez: I guess. Hey, you ever seen Apocalypto?
Guerrero: I was actually watching it on the way here, lost connection like twenty minutes in though. Why?
Mendez: I don't know, Mayan mission, Mayan film, got me thinking about it. Heard it was inaccurate as hell, though.
Guerrero: Looked pretty accurate to me.
Mendez: Whatever you say, Professor.
[Guerrero and Mendez continue descending in silence for approximately 33 seconds.]
Melix: (Over radio) Hey, you guys getting this?
Beckett: (Over radio) Holy shit, those things are big, and are those feathers?
Dr. Yanez: (Over radio) Can you get a better look at that object in the middle?
Melix: (Over radio) I'll try.
Guerrero: Dr. Moore? Status update?
Melix: (Over radio) We're fine, boss. We just made it all the way down our stairs, we found a chamber and there's two gigantic serpents, at least ten meters long, and they're surrounding some kind of statue. Do you have an ETA until the bottom of yours?
Guerrero: No, it's still just a dark stairway.
Melix: (Over radio) Understood.
Mendez: Did she say ten meters?
Guerrero: Yeah.
Mendez: Goddamn.
Melix: (Over radio) Doctor, I don't think that's a statue.
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) Just stay out for now.
[Guerrero and Mendez continue to follow the Instance for a couple of seconds until a vaguely lit up room can be seen at the end of the stairs.]
Mendez: Think it's them?
Guerrero: I see a lit up room at the bottom of the stairs, is that you guys?
Melix: (Over radio) Could be, hold on, we're going to try something.
[The room suddenly does dark.]
Melix: (Over radio) Do you still see the light?
Guerrero: No, okay, ETA is 15-20 seconds.
[The room lights up again.]
[Guerrero and Mendez reach the end of the stairs where the Instance stops.]
[Guerrero looks up into the room and sees two gigantic feathered serpents laying in a spiral around something.]
Mendez: Oh, fuck no.
[The light previously lighting up the room now points in Guerrero's direction.]
Beckett: (Over radio) Cap?
Guerrero: Beckett? Are all three of you there?
Morris: (Over radio) Yes, sir.
[Guerrero looks toward the middle of the chamber and sees a humanoid figure on its knees with chains on both wrists that force its arms out and upward toward each side of the chamber.]
Guerrero: Okay…
Mendez: Yeah.. I don't-
[The Instance slowly begins crawling into the chamber.]
Mendez: Shit!
Guerrero: Dr. Moore, what's the plan?
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) Let it through, but stay back on the stairs just in case.
Guerrero: You sure you want blood near these things?
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) Yeah, just get a clear view if you can.
Mendez: I don't know about this one, sir.
[The instance slowly crawls toward the statue and over the giant serpents.]
[Guerrero slowly raises his rifle.]
[The instance continues to crawl toward the statue and over the giant serpents. The Instance almost touches the humanoid until it drags its legs over the head and mouth of one of the serpents.]
[Within a second, the serpent wakes up and wraps around the Instance, beginning to constrict it. Loud crunches and pops can be heard.]
[Guerrero flinches and slowly begins to back up.]
Guerrero: Dr. Moore?!
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) I-I don't-
Dr. Chali: (Over radio) WAIT! YOU HAVE TO KILL IT!
[Guerrero stops just before the view into the room is cut off and the Instance can be seen trying to squirm toward the humanoid.]
Guerrero: What?!
Dr. Chali: (Over radio) THE INSTANCE, YOU HAVE TO KILL IT, HURRY!
Dr. Yanez: (Over radio) LISTEN TO HIM!
Instance: Nu kowilibal!
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) For what?!
Dr. Chali: (Over radio) THE INSTANCE IS GOING TO-
[The Instance gets an arm free and reaches toward the humanoid with a bloody hand. It touches the nose and mouth of the humanoid just before the second serpent wakes up and bites the head of the instance, crushing its skull.]
Dr. Yanez: (Over radio) Did blood get on the object?!
Guerrero: I think s-
[The serpents stop and turn toward both stairways. Both sides freeze and stare at each other.]
[Suddenly a serpent lunges at Guerrero. He barely dodges, but the serpent adjusts and bites Mendez's leg instead, dragging him into the chamber.]
Mendez: AH! SHIT!
Guerrero: NO!
[The serpent begins to constrict Mendez.]
[Guerrero enters the chamber and fires three times in an attempt to deter the serpent.]
Guerrero: DON'T SPRAY, IT HAS HIM!
[Controlled fire from the rest of the squad ensues to no avail. Moments later, the second serpent bites and grabs Beckett.]
[Footsteps can be heard from behind Guerrero.]
Thorn: CAP!
[The serpents continue constricting both soldiers while under fire.]
[Gunfire illuminates the chamber and something behind the serpents can be seen moving ever so slightly.]
[Suddenly, the serpents stop constricting and drop both soldiers.]
[All gunfire continues but soon stops as the serpents begin examining the humanoid closely, completely ignoring all else.]
Guerrero: (Whispering) What?
[The chamber is now quiet.]
[Light wheezing and groaning can be heard from Mendez, while Beckett is silent.]
Guerrero: (Whispering) Mendez! Beckett!
[Guerrero and Melix slowly approach both unconscious soldiers and start slowly dragging them to their respective stairways.]
Dr. Moore: (Over radio) We're sending reinforceme-
Guerrero: (Whispering) No! Just have some medics up there, there's no point.
[Guerrero turns toward the stairway and signals to Thorn. Both men begin to carry Mendez before Guerrero is suddenly pulled backwards.]
Guerrero: FUCK!
[One of the serpents hisses in Guerrero's face before tightly wrapping around him.]
Guerrero: (Weakly) Help!
[The remaining squad members raise their weapons just before the serpent lets go of Guerrero and hisses in pain. Guerrero falls face first and struggles to breathe.]
Morris: IT'S ALIVE!
Thorn: CAPTAIN, WE GOTTA GO!
[Guerrero takes a few deep breaths and slowly turns around to look up.]
Thorn: CAP, C'MON!
[Guerrero fully turns around and sees the chained humanoid biting and ripping into the flesh of the serpent.]
[Guerrero slowly begins to crawl backward as the humanoid rips flesh from the serpent and eats it. The humanoid quickly goes in for another bite and grabs onto something that causes the serpent to spasm.]
[The second serpent desperately wraps around the humanoid while the humanoid's head thrashes within the first serpent and finally rips something out and eats it. The first serpent falls to the floor toward Guerrero.]

[The following footage has been cut for simplicity of archiving.]
[Thorn turns toward Morris and Melix.]
Thorn: GO, GO, I GOT THIS!
[Thorn rushes toward Guerrero and helps shove the corpse of the giant serpent off of him. Thorn then helps Guerrero up and leads him back to their stairway where they pick up Mendez and rush up the stairs.]
Guerrero: The fuck is that thing?!
Thorn: I don't know! They didn't tell me either! They just saw something on the wall, gasped, and started telling you to kill the Instance!
Guerrero: Fuck! I could've shot it!
[The sound of chains rattling and snake hissing can be heard in the chamber.]
Guerrero: Hurry!
[The duo carries Mendez up the stairway until they reach the room featuring the giant mural. Morris and Melix can be seen examining Beckett.]
[Guerrero and Thorn put Mendez down and start taking a breath.]
Guerrero: (Out of breath) He breathing?
Melix: Barely.
Guerrero: Alright, we're almost ther-
[The snapping of chains can be heard in the distance.]
Morris: What the hell was that?
Guerrero: GO, WE GOTTA GO!
[The remaining squad members quickly rush to pick up their fallen until they're interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps on stone stairs.]
Thorn: (Whispering) How?
Guerrero: Dr. Yanez, what is that thing?
Dr. Yanez: (Over radio) It's-it's a prisoner.
[From within the stairway that Guerrero and Thorn had taken, the footsteps can be heard getting closer and closer.]
Guerrero: Is it hostile?
Dr. Yanez: (Over radio) W-we don't know.
[Out of the stairway comes a bloodied humanoid covered in black everywhere except above the neck.]
[Both parties stare at each other in silence. The humanoid looks the squad up and down.]
[Guerrero steps in front of his squad and draws his pistol and combat knife.]
Guerrero: Take them up there. Now.
[The squad quickly begins dragging Beckett and Mendez up the final stairway. The view into the room is slowly cut off just before Guerrero steps forward.]
[The squad finishes dragging Beckett and Mendez up the stairs and into the first room where they spot Foundation medics and security through the entrance hole.]
Morris: Take 'em and get us outta here!
[Guerrero's squad begins escaping all while shouting and gunfire begins to start.]
[Thorn is the last member to climb the ladder and finally leaves the hole. Thorn goes back and kneels before the hole.]
[Gunfire soon stops and all that can be heard is a periodic cracking sound coupled with chatter in the background.]
[The periodic cracking from within SCP-8554 continues but now it is coupled with the sound of grunting and a hard material clashing with stone.]
[Guerrero can be heard crying out and the noise from the stairs soon stops.]
Morris: FUCK!
[Thorn turns toward Morris.]
Morris: You hear that, man?! He's fucking dead!
Melix: Then let's kill this thing!
[All armed personnel point their weapons toward the hole.]
[All personnel stand there for approximately 3 minutes until someone can be heard walking up the stairway.]
[The footsteps stop and from the stairway comes Guerrero's pistol, thrown to the floor. The personnel are quick to follow its movement but don't fire.]
[Soon after the pistol is thrown, the humanoid exits the stairway holding an unconscious, bloody Guerrero by his body armor, using him as a shield.]
Foundation Security #1: HANDS! SHOW ME YOUR HANDS!
Foundation Security #2: DROP HIM! NOW!
Foundation Security #3: HANDS IN THE AIR N-
[The humanoid throws Guerrero out of the hole and towards the personnel guarding it. This knocks away a handful of soldiers and creates a distraction for the humanoid to leap out of the hole.]
[Out of the hole comes a humanoid male covered in blood around the forearms and mouth, wearing what appears to be black armor. The humanoid looks around and pauses.]
[The humanoid then targets the nearest soldier, Thorn, with a right cross. Thorn dodges backward and attempts to line up his rifle with the humanoid's head.]
Thorn: C'MON! LET'S GO-
[The humanoid quickly grabs the rifle's barrel and rips it out of Thorn's hands. This is followed by a kick to Thorn's midsection that sends him backward into the wall of Structure-2B.]
[Thorn attempts to recover, but is immediately met with an uppercut to the chin.]
[Thorn falls to the floor, unconscious.]

Guerrero: Is the feed coming through?
[The following footage has been cut for simplicity of archiving]
[Footage shows Melix, Morris, and several other soldiers standing on the left side of the hole. On the right side of the camera, behind the ruins, more soldiers can be seen attempting to stand up on the main stairs leading up to Structure-2B.]
[Across the hole, on the right side, is the humanoid standing over Thorn.]
[Melix and several others begin firing their rifles at the back of the humanoid.]
Morris: GET OFF OF HIM!
[The humanoid quickly dashes to the left of it, behind some ruins. The humanoid then uses the ruins to circle around to the right side of the hole and appears right in front of Morris.]
Morris: SHI-
[The humanoid rips Morris' rifle out of his hands and punches him square in the chest, launching Morris backwards into the wall.]
[Melix quickly turns toward the humanoid but before she can fire, it lunges at her. Melix dodges to her left, and counters with left cross to its face that lands square.]
[A loud crack is heard and a slight smirk appears on the humanoid's face.]
[The humanoid then uppercuts Melix into the wall behind her.]
Melix: (Grunts)
[Melix looks down and grabs her core tightly.]
[A slight whoosh can be heard.]
Foundation Security #4: GET DOWN!
[Gunfire and shouting continues as the humanoid begins attacking the remaining soldiers.]
Melix: (Weakly) Fuck.
[Melix looks to her left.]
Melix: Mor- (Groans) Morris! You alive?
Morris: (Gasping) I-I can't breathe.
[Melix manages to slowly get up and crawl over to Morris. Melix reaches Morris and begins examining his chest.]
[Morris suddenly inhales loudly.]
Melix: It just knocked the wind out of you. Thank fuck.
Morris: (Out of breath) My ribs are broken.
Melix: Doesn't matter, you got to get up, let's g-
[Gunfire and shouting stops.]
[Melix turns around and looks in between the ruins just in time to see the humanoid throw a soldier down the stairs.]
[The humanoid turns around, jumps over the hole, and begins walking through the middle of Structure-2B. The humanoid shoots a quick glance at Melix and Morris while passing by.]
[Morris attempts to get up but fails out of pain.]
Morris: We gotta kill that thing!
Melix: No! We need to go! We need help!
[Morris grabs Melix's arm.]
Morris: We are the help!
[Melix turns and looks up at the humanoid that has now begun ascending SCP-8554. Melix turns back to look at Morris.]
Morris: We- (Groans) We gotta do something. It killed the Captain and probably Thorn too.
Melix: (Sighs) Get up and meet me up there if you can.
Morris: (Groans) Got it.
[Melix leaves Structure-2B and begins to follow the humanoid up the stairs. The humanoid begins walking faster and soon begins quickly going up the stairs in a manner similar to crawling.]
Melix: (Under her breath) The fuck?
[Melix attempts to match it's pace but fails, soon the humanoid reaches the top of SCP-8554, Structure-2A. Melix reaches Structure-2A only a minute later.]
[As Melix ascends up to Structure-2A, various cracking and snapping sounds can be heard.]
[As the ruins of Structure-2A come into view, the humanoid can be seen hitting and kicking apart the open box, seemingly in anger. The humanoid stands over the box for a moment before looking at Melix.]
[The humanoid then goes to the other side of Structure-2A where the other box is located and begins punching the top.]
Melix: HEY!
[The humanoid looks at Melix for a couple of seconds and disregards her.]
Melix: (Under her breath) This fucker.
[Melix draws her rifle and fires a shot at the humanoid's head. The bullet hits and finally gets its attention.]
[The humanoid dashes toward Melix and reaches her before a second shot can be fired. The humanoid takes her rifle and forcefully rips the magazine out of it, dropping the pieces to the ground after.]
[The humanoid then grabs Melix by the neck and raises her up. Melix begins to struggle before both parties pause.]
[After a moment, Melix gasps.]
Melix: (Heavily breathing) WHAT DID YOU DO!
[The humanoid drops Melix and begins walking away. Melix starts franticly grabbing her head.]
Melix: Y-You were-
[Melix grabs her head while groaning.]
[The humanoid ignores her and continues breaking the box.]
[Melix continues grabbing her head before slowly returning to her feet, she then draws her combat knife.]
Melix: I'M GOIN-
[The humanoid finishes destroying the box and reaches into it. The humanoid digs and pulls out a black axe. It then turns to face Melix.]
[Melix slowly squares up.]
[The humanoid stares at Melix before preparing to throw the axe. The humanoid then throws the axe straight up into the sky, causing Melix to dodge to her right.]
Melix: Wait, what?
[Both parties stand awkwardly as clouds begin to form in the sky and a thunderstorm begins. Rain drops as the humanoid cups some water in its hands and rubs its face.]
Melix: (Under her breath) What are you-
[The humanoid dashes toward Melix and punches her in the face with a straight left. Melix stumbles before countering with a two stab combination that the humanoid dodges as if expecting it.]
[The humanoid then enters with a feint jab and hits Melix with a cross to the body. Melix attempts to slip to her right but is met with a hook to the face.]
[Melix grunts.]
[Melix then jabs the humanoid and attempts a body kick. The humanoid catches the kick and punches Melix square in the chest, dropping her.]
[Melix gets up and adjusts. She then blitzes in with a three-point combination that ends with her pointing her pistol directly at the humanoid's chin and firing.]
[The bullet stuns the humanoid for a split second, just enough time for Melix to lodge her combat knife in its left eye socket. The humanoid flinches and she uses that opportunity to hammer the knife in further.]
[The humanoid lets out a small cry of pain and front kicks Melix, nearly sending her flying down the stairs. The visibly angry humanoid drops to one knee and pulls the knife out to no blood and prepares to throw it.]
[Just before it can, the axe lands directly in between the two.]
[Melix shoots the humanoid and quickly rushes toward the axe. She pries it out of the floor and lunges toward the humanoid. The humanoid catches the strike and returns with a quick right hand that Melix couldn't dodge.]
[The punch disorients Melix long enough for the humanoid to grab her by the vest, pick her up, and slam her into the floor.]
Humanoid: XUWI LA’!
[Thunder is heard in the distance.]
Melix: (Weakly) W-What?
Humanoid: Q’ATAL- STOP. THIS.
Melix: (Weakly) What did you say?
[Melix attempts to squirm away only for the humanoid to lift her up and shove into the floor once more.]
Humanoid: Do that again and I will slaughter you and your people.
Melix: (Weakly) Fuck you!
Humanoid: Heed my word.
[Melix attempts to reach towards the humanoid's face.]
[The humanoid raises the axe to Melix's head and drops it.]

[Footage shows Cpt. Guerrero's squad standing in the ruins of Structure-2B around Melix and Mendez who are planting C4 explosives on the floor.]
Guerrero: Is the feed coming through?
[The following footage has been cut for simplicity of archiving.]
[Footage shows Morris attempting to stand in the ruins of Structure-2B.]
Morris: Fucking rain, of course it starts now.
[Morris reaches for his chest.]
Morris: Melix?
[Silence.]
Morris: Dr. Moore, anybody, are you there?
[More silence, followed by the occasional sound of thunder.]
[Morris looks up at Structure-2A.]
Morris: Fuck!
[Morris finally manages to stand while clutching his midsection. He picks up his rifle and begins walking around the ruins.]
[Morris continues walking over rubble and debris until he reaches Thorn. Morris then takes a knee in front of Thorn and turns him over.]
Morris: (Whispering) Thorn! Buddy!
[Morris leans into Thorn and puts his ear up to Thorn's face.]
[Faint but audible breathing can be heard.]
Morris: (Sighs) Thank god. C'mon buddy, we need to go.
[Morris attempts to drag Thorn but is interrupted by the sound of wet footsteps behind him.]
[Morris quickly turns around with his rifle in hand but the humanoid swats it away, sending the rifle flying off of SCP-8554.]
[The humanoid then grabs Morris by the neck and slams him into the wall of Structure-2B. Morris tries to draw his pistol but is met with another slam, causing him to stop and cry in pain.]
[Morris looks down to the right of the humanoid and sees it dragging Melix's body. Morris looks back up at the humanoid and sees a black axe attached to its back.]
Morris: Just kill me.
[The humanoid drops Morris and switches its grip to the top of his vest. The humanoid begins dragging both Morris and Melix out of the ruins of Structure-2B.]
[Immediately after being dragged Morris spots something moving and looks up. The axe that was attached to the humanoid has now started to float towards Thorn.]
Morris: (Under his breath) The fuck?
[The axe then shoves it handle in between Thorn's body and vest.]
Morris: H-HEY! NO! LEAVE HIM ALONE! HE'S NOT EVEN ALIVE!
[Morris tries to pry the humanoid's hand open to no avail. Morris tries to draw his pistol again only for it to slip and drop out of his reach. Morris exhales in defeat.]
[Morris looks back at Thorn to see that he has now started to slightly float with only his feet being dragged across the floor.]
Morris: What?
[The humanoid begins descending down the stairs of SCP-8554.]
Morris: What are you gonna do to us?
Morris: HEY! IF I'M GONNA DIE, I WANNA KNOW HOW!
[The humanoid ignores him and continues dragging the soldiers. Morris looks around and sees the bodies of many soldiers, including Guerrero.]
[The humanoid continues descending all while shouting and faint hissing can be heard.]
[Eventually, the humanoid reaches the part of SCP-8554 that divides into two different stairways. The humanoid takes the stairway to its left.]
[Morris continues looking down until he notices something moving in the ruins of Structure-2B. He continues looking until the shouting and hissing become gradually louder behind him.]
Foundation Security #5: ITS GOT THREE OF 'EM!
Foundation Security Lead: GET READY!
[The humanoid reaches the bottom of SCP-8554 and stops. Morris looks behind him and sees dozens of snakes hissing at the base.]
Morris: (Chuckling) Oh, you're fucked. Those little guys are relentless.
[The humanoid steps off of SCP-8554 and steps on a snake, squishing it. The nearby snakes immediately back away from the humanoid, creating a circle that is at least several meters in radius. The humanoid walks forward and the snakes back away accordingly.]
Morris: I-I- Wha-
[The humanoid drops Melix's body and the axe does the same with Thorn before flying into the humanoid's left hand.]
Morris: Ah, shit.
[The humanoid quickly picks up Morris, turns him around, and puts him in a headlock with one arm. The humanoid raises the axe to Morris' neck.]
[Footage now shows Morris facing a jungle with three columns of military tents on the right side of a muddy dirt road, and in front of that road is at least a dozen Foundation security guards standing in front with rifles drawn.]
Foundation Security Lead: JUST DROP HIM AND WE WON'T SHOOT!
[The humanoid brings the axe closer to Morris' face.]
Humanoid: WHERE IS DOCTOR LUNA MOORE!
Morris: Dr. Moore? How-
Foundation Security Lead: HOW DO YOU KNOW HER?
Humanoid: WHERE IS SHE! I WILL SPEAK ONLY WITH HER!
Foundation Security Lead: NO, YOU WON'T!
Humanoid: BRING HER HERE OR THEY DIE!
[Both sides stare at each other in silence while thunder is heard in the distance.]
[The humanoid suddenly pushes Morris forward and kicks behind his knee. Morris kneels and the humanoid pulls Morris' head back, putting the axe right up against his neck.]
Humanoid: I PROMISE YOU, THEY WILL.
Humanoid: DO IT!
Morris: IF YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO KILL ME, DO IT FAST! I'M WET AND ITS FUCKING COLD!
[The guards stare for a moment before signaling. A soldier in the back walks into the third tent in the closest column and returns escorting Dr. Moore from the armory. She walks to the front of guards but stays just behind the security lead.]
[Dr. Moore has an unintelligible conversation with the security lead before speaking.]
Dr. Moore: HOW DO YOU KNOW ME?
Humanoid: UNIMPORTANT. YOU ARE IN CHARGE HERE, YES?
Dr. Moore: I AM. WHAT DO WHAT WANT?
Humanoid: TO NEGOTIATE.
Dr. Moore: NEGOTIATE WHAT?
Humanoid: I GET TO LEAVE AND YOUR SOLDIERS GET TO LIVE.
Dr. Moore: I MEAN, YOU ALREADY KILLED A LOT OF OUR MEN.
Humanoid: I HAVE NOT.
[The humanoid waves its axe over to Melix and Thorn.]
Humanoid: THEY STILL LIVE. SO DO THE REST ATOP THE TEMPLE. I SPEAK THE TRUTH.
Dr. Moore: EVEN IF THEY DO, I CAN'T DO THAT.
Morris: Gotta be fucking kidding me.
Humanoid: DO YOU WANT TO DIE? I OFFER A PEACEFUL SOLUTION.
Dr. Moore: LISTEN, WE CAN BE PEACEFUL, BUT YOU CAN'T LEAVE.
Dr. Moore: THERE'S NO NEED FOR BLOOD, LISTE-
Foundation Security #6: THERE'S ANOTHER ONE, IN STRUCTURE-2B, LOOK.
Foundation Security Lead: GET HER OUT OF HERE!
[The humanoid lets go of Morris and turns around. Morris breathes heavily before quickly crawling along the dirt road toward the guards.]
[Halfway to the security guards, Morris turns around and sees one of the serpents from the chamber leaving a trail of blood while rolling down the stairway of SCP-8554.]
Morris: What the hel-
[The serpent reaches the platform the divides the stairway with a splat.]
[The serpent slowly slithers down the same stairway the humanoid took before starting to roll again.]
[The injured serpent finally reaches the bottom of SCP-8554 and stops right in front of the humanoid. The humanoid cautiously backs up and grips its axe.]
[Morris turns toward the guards.]
Morris: DON'T SHOOT THE SNAKE, IT JUST WAN-
[The serpent begins making a strange noise. Morris turns around to see that the serpent has something in its abdomen.]
[The serpent begins to regurgitate.]
[Morris continues slowly backing up as the serpent regurgitates. Eventually, the serpent stops making noise.]
[The serpent slowly vomits up a brown, muscular man wearing a cotton vest in the fetal position. The serpent again begins to regurgitate and soon after, begins vomiting up a sharp black object.]
[Before the serpent can finish however, the humanoid dashes toward the serpent and decapitates it. It then turns toward the man and begins hacking at the man's head repeatedly.]
Morris: What the fuck?!
[Morris turns around and tries to crawl toward a nearby armory tent while gunfire is heard all around him.]
[Suddenly, a loud crack is heard and out of the right side view of the camera, the humanoid can be seen flying backward into the tents, hitting the armory.]
Morris: (Under his breath) Bitch.
[The guards divide their forces to both humanoids and hold them at gunpoint. Shouting is heard from the armory tent all while Dr. Moore and her team can be seen trying to escape from under the tent.]
Humanoid: NO! GET OFF OF ME, NOW!
[Gunfire soon erupts from the forces guarding the man.]
[Morris once again turns around and sees the man punching holes through the chests of the soldiers guarding it. The man then begins eating something and its face begins to regenerate.]
[The man finishes regenerating, looks directly at Morris, and smiles. On the man's face are two black lines that stretch across its eyes and down one cheek.]
[The other half of the guards begin firing at the man and in response it picks up Thorn, using him as a shield. Thorn is shot five times before the gunfire stops.]
Morris: NO! FUCK!
[The man continues holding Thorn as it slowly walks over to the serpent's head and begins digging in its mouth.]
Unidentified: (Angrily) Kumätzpatan.
[The man grabs onto something and pulls out a black glassy spear from the mouth of the serpent. The man then kicks the corpse of the serpent into the jungle.]
Foundation Security #5: HOW THE HELL?!
[The man throws Thorn to the side and attempts to throw the spear but before it can, the humanoid leaps with its axe in hand and lodges the axe in between the man's head and shoulder, right on its trap and collarbone.]
[The humanoid rips the axe out by slicing down and uses that motion to knee the man in the midsection. The man tries to counter with a stab, but the humanoid dodges and the spear gets stuck in ground. The humanoid uses that opportunity to slice the man's forearm in half and kick it into the steps of SCP-8554.]
Humanoid: JAWICHI' RI QAJAW AJ CH’O’J?
Unidentified: (Laughing) AT AJ CH’O’J?
[Gunfire erupts and the humanoid attempts to shield its face. The man uses that distraction to quickly grab a handful of snakes and bite them in half.]
[The man's arm regenerates and it tackles the humanoid deeper into the camp immediately after.]
[Morris watches as the anomalies throw each other around the camp, destroying multiple tents in the process. The remaining security forces attempt to fire on the anomalies but they moving too fast to track.]
[Morris stops following the battle and quickly turns to look at Thorn and Melix. Morris rushes over to Thorn and starts inspecting him all while gunfire and trees can be heard snapping in the distance.]
[Morris reaches into his vest and puts a tourniquet on Thorn's upper leg and tightens it. Morris continues scavenging Thorn's armor for medical supplies until he can no longer find any. Morris puts pressure on Thorn's remaining gunshots.]
Morris: MEDIC! I NEED A MED-
[Morris looks around to see dozens of bodies littered around the camp and only a handful of soldiers dragging their fallen. Morris tries to stand up but a sharp pain hits him in that moment. Morris clutches his midsection and cries out.]
[While on the ground, Morris spots the medical tent in front of the destroyed armory and starts dragging himself across the dirt road. Morris starts out in an army crawl but soon evolves to a crouch-style walking.]
[Morris continues to walk all while the anomalies fight and a thunderstorm rages on.]
[Morris finally reaches the medical tent's entrance and is met with three very stressed out medics treating Mendez, Beckett, and a dozen other personnel. One of them looks at Morris, surprised, and walks up to him.]
Medic #1: You bleeding anywhere?
Morris: N-No. J-Just. (Groans) I need pain killers. Please.
[The medic turns around and goes to the back of the tent and rummages around. The medic comes back holding an autoinjector and hands it to Morris. Morris stabs himself in the leg and exhales.]
[Morris' breathing and posture stabilize before he begins to speak.]
Morris: Oh, m-my buddy, he's alive, but-
Medic #1: What's he got?
Morris: Gunshots. Three.
[The medic goes to the back of the tent and rummages around. The medic comes back with two bandage rolls and an autoinjector.]
Medic #1: Just pack in his wounds, deep, as much as you can, for all of 'em. Wish I could do it myself but we're drowning here.
[Morris puts the supplies in his pockets.]
Morris: Y-yeah, thanks.
[Morris leaves the tent and starts running toward Thorn. Morris is nearly halfway to him before both anomalies crash right in front of Morris with the man being sent further back, right next to its spear.]
[The crash knocks Morris off his feet and the now heavily injured man throws its spear at Morris.]
[The humanoid attempts to catch the spear but misses and gets pierced through the left forearm instead, although still stopping the spear from hitting Morris. The humanoid drops its axe and tries to rip the spear out but the man gets to it first and forcefully rips it out of the humanoid's arm.]
[The humanoid grunts and immediately gets slashed in the face. Before the humanoid can respond, the man stabs the spear through its upper right leg and into the ground, immobilizing the humanoid.]
[The man drives the spear in deeper before backhanding the humanoid and turning its attention to Morris. In an instant, the man dashes toward Morris and quickly reaches for his chest.]
[Just before the man touches Morris, the humanoid's axe flies in and slices the man's hand off. The man groans and tries with its other hand but the axe flies around and lodges itself in the upper back of the man.]
Unidentified: (Angrily) Xapachikeumal ri pek?
Humanoid: GO!
[Morris turns around and starts running along the tents deeper into the camp, away from SCP-8554.]
[The anomalies can be heard beating each other before dashing into the jungle once more.]
[Morris looks behind him before running in between the tents. While there, he spots a security guard's body with a hole in his chest and stops to loot him.]
Morris: (Sighs) Sorry, man.
[Morris arms up and then sneaks in between the tents to make his way back to the front of the camp.]
[While walking, the sound of thunder and the clashing of weapons can occasionally be heard.]
[He finally makes his way to the front of the camp and peaks out to his right where both Thorn and Melix lay unconscious. Morris crouch walks the remaining distance and reaches Thorn.]
[Morris reaches down into his pocket.]
Morris: Don't worry, man, you're gon-
[Morris looks up toward Thorn and sees a fist-sized hole in his chest.]
[He stares in silence for a while.]
[Morris snaps back and immediately checks on Melix.]
[He frantically examines Melix and eventually hears her breathing.]
Morris: (Whispering) Goddamn it!
[Morris starts punching the ground until the sound of clashing weapons can be heard nearby.]
[Morris starts dragging Melix behind a nearby tree but in the process, he witnesses the two anomalies crash into the medical tent.]
Morris: Shit!
[He stops dragging Melix and starts running toward the tent.]
[Before Morris can make it, he trips and sees the humanoid get launched out of the tent, through the tent in front of it, and into the steps of SCP-8554. The humanoid recovers and tries to lunge back but is met with the body of a security guard flying towards it.]
[The guard splatters all over the humanoid and blinds it. Just before the humanoid finishes wiping its eyes, another body is seen flying out of the tent and toward the humanoid, this time it's Beckett.]
[The impact explodes Beckett's body and again blinds the humanoid. The man, now fully healed, dashes toward and kicks the humanoid into the steps of SCP-8554. The humanoid tries to get up, but while doing so, it is pierced through the abdomen by the man's spear and pinned down onto the steps of SCP-8554.]
Unidentified: OJ K’OLI’K JE JAS QAJAWE NABE KANOQ! UJ QONOJEL!
Unidentified: AT JARISAJ LE'
[The man walks toward SCP-8554 while the humanoid tries to pull the spear out. The man gets there first, steps on the humanoid's chest, and rips the spear out. The man then stabs the humanoid through the right forearm, pinning onto the steps.]
[The man now starts hammering at the humanoid's face while laughing. The humanoid uses its remaining arm to block but the man holds it down and continues beating the humanoid.]
Unidentified: (Laughing) JAWICHI' RI CHUQ’AB?
[The man continues beating the humanoid until the humanoid's axe comes flying out of the destroyed tents and lodges itself into the lower back of the man.]
[The man tries to reach behind and grab the axe, but the axe drives itself deeper into the man's back until it eventually rips through the abdomen entirely.]
[The axe flies out from in between the anomalies and into the shoulder of the man. The humanoid's arm is let go and it punches the man while moving to pull out the spear. It pulls the spear out and reverses positions with the man.]
Humanoid: JA'I' MAS!
[The humanoid stabs the man through the upper chest, pinning it down onto SCP-8554. The humanoid pulls the axe out of the man's shoulder and slams it directly onto the man's chest, throwing it to the side after.]
[The humanoid begins ripping at the man's chest. The man tries to retaliate by digging into the humanoid's open abdomen. The humanoid winces and reaches into the man's chest. It begins to pry at something all while subtle cracks can be heard.]
[The man now frantically begins ripping at the humanoid's abdomen as it begins ripping the man's ribcage open and soon reaches in. The man starts to jerk and flinch as the humanoid rips something out. The man ceases all movement shortly after.]
[The humanoid, now holding what appears to be the heart of the man, says something unintelligible and squeezes it right in front of the man. Immediately after, the humanoid collapses and rolls over onto the steps.]
[Morris remains frozen for a moment before looking toward the medical tent. Morris slowly gets up and walks toward the humanoid.]
[Morris reaches the humanoid and stares at it.]
[The humanoid, now lying down on the steps of SCP-8554, is covered in blood and has multiple puncture wounds along its left arm, upper right leg, and a giant hole in its abdomen. In addition to this, there are several deep cuts to its face and right eye.]
[Morris stops staring, grabs the axe and holds it with both hands.]
[Morris looks back at Thorn and then Beckett's lower half, and raises the axe.]
Humanoid: (Whispering) Chuq'abuk.
[Morris then looks back at the first crash spot. He hesitates before passing out and falling backward.]
[The camera now faces toward the sky causing rain to fall directly on the lens and occasionally causing the video to become blurry. The footage goes on like this for approximately 4 minutes before the sound of engines can be heard in the distance.]
[Soon after, the sound of many simultaneous footsteps can be heard.]
[Unintelligible shouting can be heard as a soldier comes into view from the top of the frame and kneels next to Morris. The soldier examines Morris and then looks looks off-camera to wave someone over.]

Subject: SCP-8554
I don't mean to question your judgement and experience, but are you sure about this?
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-8554 is to be kept in a Class 4 Superbeing Containment Cell modified to fit the following specifications:
- At least one panel in each corner of the containment cell is to be replaced with an automatic movable counterpart.
- Behind each automatic panel should be a specifically designed launcher loaded with Substance-8554, ready to fire at any given time.
- The cell's standard entryway must be replaced with a Class 4 Superbeing Vault Door.
SCP-8554-A must be contained in a specially designed cell within Site-17's anomalous object storage modified to fit the following specifications:
- The entryway to SCP-8554-A's cell must be a Class 3 Superbeing Vault Door.
- A motion sensor must be installed and active at all times.
In the event of an attempted containment breach, SCP-8554/A's cell is to undergo full lockdown procedures and be filled with Substance-8554.
For the sake of confidential Foundation information, physical contact with SCP-8554 is strictly prohibited.
SCP-8554 is authorized to speak with Foundation staff and request delivery of approved items to its cell.
Description: SCP-8554 is a humanoid male covered in what appears to be a black suit of armor; make or material is unknown. The only visible part of SCP-8554's supposed actual body is its head. The subject has short black hair, dark brown eyes, and light olive skin. Additionally, the subject stands at 1.94m and weighs 122 kg.
The style of SCP-8554's armor does not appear to take inspiration from any known civilization however, along the entirety of the left arm, upper left leg, and upper left chest are numerous faded markings of Maya origin, with the most prominent of these markings heavily resembling the Maya depictions of a Jaguar. Additionally, there is a set of untranslated Mayan hieroglyphs engraved on SCP-8554's upper back.
Physical contact with SCP-8554 is strictly prohibited as the subject possesses the ability to see and utilize the memories, instincts, and muscle memory of any sentient being that it touches. It also possesses the ability to transfer memories, instincts, and muscle memory between living sentient beings, with the most evident example including the domestication of a wild coyote with a single touch. It should be noted that this affect only happens at the discretion of SCP-8554 and does not occur every time physical contact is made. However, for the sake of Foundation confidentiality, physical contact between SCP-8554 and personnel is to never occur unless strictly authorized.
SCP-8554 has shown superhuman levels of strength, endurance, resilience, and overall physicality, with some of the most notable examples including:
- Withstanding bullets of all calibers.
- Punching through a plate of 40mm steel reinforced armor.
- Running at a speed of 93 k/m for an indefinite amount of time.
In addition to these physical feats, SCP-8554 has shown to possess enhanced senses such as hearing, sight, and smell.
SCP-8554-A is a black indestructible battle axe that features a completely straight handle, measures 121 cm in length and weighs 4 kg. Engraved all along the structure of SCP-8554-A is Maya iconography that depicts the Maya god, Chaac2 and other symbols associated with him, such as frogs and the Maya depictions of the four cardinal directions.
Although the make and material of SCP-8554-A are unknown, the properties and appearance of the material bear a strong resemblance to obsidian. This is especially evident when examining the blade edge of the axe, which roughly measures the size of an atom.
SCP-8554 has demonstrated the ability to completely manipulate SCP-8554-A, allowing the axe to levitate, make slashing motions mid-air, and generally function as an extension of SCP-8554.
SCP-8554 is cordial with Foundation staff and is fluent in Spanish and English. The subject also claims to be proficient in multiple dialects of the Classic Mayan and Nahuatl languages.
Discovery: SCP-8554 was discovered on 5/7/20██ in Campeche, Mexico, following a expedition mission into the anomaly that was previously given the designation of SCP-8554. The result of this expedition mission lead to the termination of the previous SCP-8554 anomaly and lead to the discovery of the current SCP-8554.
Addendum-1: Substance-8554 is a highly viscous and adhesive liquid specifically designed to assist in the containment and/or recontainment of SCP-8554. It is theoretically effective in immobilizing SCP-8554 for up to 7 hours, however it has yet to see usage against the subject. Currently, Substance-8554 has only been used during testing, but has been implemented in containment breach protocols.

SCP-8554: Chains…
Dr. Moore: Hi, 8554, I see you healed quite nicely.
[SCP-8554 looks at Dr. Moore.]
SCP-8554: How long was I unconscious?
Dr. Moore: Um, about a week and half. 10-11 days.
SCP-8554: Did you do anything to me?
Dr. Moore: I, uh, no, we didn't. All we did was bandage you, stitches wouldn't work on your body. We also took some blood for testing, just to let you know.
SCP-8554: (Silence)
Dr. Moore: Do you have any other questions?
SCP-8554: Where is my axe?
Dr. Moore: It's safely stored away, if the concern is that it's lost, it's not.
SCP-8554: (Silence)
Dr. Moore: Is that all? Because I want to ask you a couple of questions.
[SCP-8554 is silent for a moment.]
SCP-8554: About what?
Dr. Moore: You.
SCP-8554: Ask.
Dr. Moore: Okay, do you have a name?
SCP-8554: No.
Dr. Moore: Do you know how old you are?
SCP-8554: No.
Dr. Moore: Um, do you at least know where you were born?
SCP-8554: The city you found me in.
Dr. Moore: Anywhere in particular in the city?
SCP-8554: Just the city.
Dr. Moore: Okay, okay. How did you get under the temple?
SCP-8554: I was imprisoned there.
Dr. Moore: Well, can you tell me why?
SCP-8554: No.
Dr. Moore: Can you at least tell me about the serpents that were guarding you? Or the snakes around the temple?
SCP-8554: Seems obvious, no? They were my guards.
Dr. Moore: Yes, but aside from your guards, what were they?
SCP-8554: Bridges, messengers. You should know this, or was it the other one?
Dr. Moore: What do you mean?
SCP-8554: One of you knows this, you study it specifically.
Dr. Moore: Are you talking about Dr. Yanez?
SCP-8554: Ah, so I was wrong.
Dr. Moore: How do you know her? Actually, better yet, how did you know me?
SCP-8554: (Silence)
Dr. Moore: Hello?
[SCP-8554 is silent for a moment before looking around the room. SCP-8554 keeps looking around the room, but is now looking in certain directions, occasionally pausing while doing so.]
[SCP-8554 looks back at Dr. Moore.]
SCP-8554: Doctor, how much am I worth to you here?
Dr. Moore: What?
SCP-8554: How many men am I worth?
Dr. Moore: I don't know. What do you mean?
SCP-8554: (Silence)
[Dr. Moore looks back to the door on her side of the glass.]
SCP-8554: You better hope they are stronger than "The Minutemen". I actually liked them.
[Dr. Moore looks back at SCP-8554.]
Dr. Moore: What?
SCP-8554: Doctor, can I ask you for something?
Dr. Moore: S-sure.
SCP-8554: What happened to the man? The one I fought.
Dr. Moore: We don't- we don't know. When we got there, there was only a pile of blood next to you. I-I was going to ask you the same thing.
SCP-8554: And the spear?
Dr. Moore: Also gone. W-we couldn't find it.
SCP-8554: That is good.
Dr. Moore: Right.
[SCP-8554 is silent for a moment.]
SCP-8554: Are we done here?
Dr. Moore: I-I would still like to ask you some questions, if that's fine.
SCP-8554: It is not.
Dr. Moore: Okay then, if that's what you want, we're done.

Dr. Moore: You requested this meeting?
SCP-8554: I did.
Dr. Moore: What did you want to talk about?
SCP-8554: I would like to make amends for my behavior yesterday, I can tell I made you fear me. I am sorry.
Dr. Moore: That's… nice of you, but, um, is that all you wanted to speak about?
SCP-8554: No, I also have an offer for you.
Dr. Moore: An offer? Like a deal?
SCP-8554: Yes.
Dr. Moore: I'll hear it out, what is it?
SCP-8554: I want you to find something for me, in exchange, I offer my loyalty and peace.
Dr. Moore: Your loyalty and peace?
SCP-8554: I will not resist to anything and I will do anything you ask.
Dr. Moore: So… you're offering your ability to be cooperative?
SCP-8554: I am offering my service and peace for a favor, like last time. I know who you people are and what you do. I know this facility and I know what is in this facility.
Dr. Moore: That's not good, but what's your point?
SCP-8554: The way I see it, I could do a lot here. Could I destroy this place? No. But could I cripple it? That I have no doubt.
Dr. Moore: You're threatening us?
SCP-8554: I could just escape if that is better.
[Dr. Moore thinks for a moment.]
Dr. Moore: Wait, you were never going to escape?
SCP-8554: (Scoffs) With your tracking ability, I would have been found within the week, pointless to try. However, it is that tracking ability that I wish to negotiate for.
Dr. Moore: (Sighs) What do we need to find?
SCP-8554: I ask that you look for a jade spear.
Dr. Moore: You want us to give you a weapon?
SCP-8554: My entire body is a weapon, Doctor. I also told you to find it for me, not give it to me. Those are different things in this language, yes?
Dr. Moore: Even then, how can we trust you? How do we know that you won't go crazy once a weapon is in these walls?
SCP-8554: Doctor, I have a weapon in these walls.
[SCP-8554 points in the general direction of Site-17's anomalous object storage.]
Dr. Moore: How you do know where it is?
SCP-8554: I will tell you everything you want to know, all you have to do is agree to my offer.
Dr. Moore: Assuming we do agree, where do we even look? And what exactly are we looking for? A jade spear is incredibly vague.
SCP-8554: I will not tell you where to start looking, I know what you are capable of. As for what exactly you need to find, it is a long jade spear, nearly identical to the one I was stabbed with.
SCP-8554: The difference between the two is obviously material, but the key difference is the spear you are looking for has a lot of art on it, depicting many things. It is truly hard to miss.
Dr. Moore: And why do you want this spear?
SCP-8554: It was stolen.
Dr. Moore: When?
SCP-8554: I do not know.
Dr. Moore: Do you at least know from where?
SCP-8554: The same place I got my axe.
Dr. Moore: The box on top of the temple? Oh, don't tell me.
SCP-8554: That is where it was stolen from.
Dr. Moore: How?
SCP-8554: I do not know.
Dr. Moore: You're lying. Those things were indestructible to us. Only something with your level of strength could break it. You know.
SCP-8554: I truly do not, those boxes were especially made to… stop thievery.
Dr. Moore: And how do you know that?
SCP-8554: Ah, only if you agree.
[Dr. Moore thinks for a moment.]
Dr. Moore: I'll put in a word for you, but answer me this. What can the spear do?
[SCP-8554 smiles.]
SCP-8554: Only if you agree.
Dr. Moore: (Sighs) I'll try, but I don't think they'll like your offer very much.
SCP-8554: We all must compromise eventually.
Dr. Moore: Is that all you wanted to speak to me about?
SCP-8554: I have one more request.
Dr. Moore: What?
SCP-8554: I want these chains removed.
Dr. Moore: Right.

Dr. Moore: Hi, 8554, this is Dr. Yanez, but you knew that already.
Dr. Yanez: Hello, it's nice to see you in person.
SCP-8554: Why is she here?
Dr. Moore: Is there a problem?
SCP-8554: No, just a surprise. However, since we are all here, I imagine you thought about it?
Dr. Moore: We did, and they agreed, however, nothing's official until this interview is over and that's assuming you upheld your end.
SCP-8554: How do I know you will honor your end after this?
Dr. Moore: Trust goes a long way, just like we're trusting you're going to answer our questions truthfully.
SCP-8554: That is… fair. I suppose.
Dr. Yanez: Shall we get started?
SCP-8554: If you insist.
[Dr. Yanez reaches into the folder that she's holding. Dr. Yanez pulls a photo of SCP-8554's back and raises it to the glass.]
Dr. Yanez: Can you translate this for us?
SCP-8554: It is just a blessing, nothing important.
Dr. Moore: We would like to know what it says.
SCP-8554: It would not make sense, if I did it would be all broken. Just nonsense if I tried.
Dr. Moore: Nothing we won't fix.
SCP-8554: It would take time.
Dr. Moore: Alright, can you at least tell us how you got under the temple?
SCP-8554: I was imprisoned there.
Dr. Moore: Obviously, you said that already, we want to know why.
SCP-8554: It is a long story.
Dr. Moore: We have all day, it's kind of what we're here for.
SCP-8554: It is truly a long story.
[Dr. Moore and Dr. Yanez look at each other.]
Dr. Moore: Just tell us.
SCP-8554: Fine.
Dr. Yanez: There we go.
SCP-8554: So what is it exactly you wish to know about me?
Dr. Moore: Everything, preferably. What you are, who you are, how you got chained up, why you got chained up, why you know everything about us.
Dr. Moore: A deal is a deal.
SCP-8554: After this, you will start looking for the spear, yes?
Dr. Moore: We will.
SCP-8554: Okay, if that is what you want, I will you everything, from my birth to imprisonment.
SCP-8554: Around 1000 years ago, during the decline of my people's civilization, there was war, a lot of it. They fought over many things from resources to distrust. During these times of crisis, my people would turn to the gods, and they prayed hard.
SCP-8554: But prayers were not enough, and so the mass offerings had begun. As a result of this, the gods were star struck, never in a thousand lifetimes have they experienced something like this. As a token of their appreciation, and to ensure this supply lasted, they birthed the finest warrior my lands had ever seen, me.
SCP-8554: I was born out of a supposed "love" for the people, but of course, I was there to serve no mortal. I was told that I was to be the champion of my people, that I was to be unmatched, and that I was to be the greatest.
SCP-8554: To achieve this goal, the gods blessed me with the ability to master the skills of any warrior with just a touch. In addition to this power, I was given legendary armor and immense strength and along with that, a promise, that no weapon, present or future, was to pierce my skin.
[SCP-8554 points to the photo of its back.]
SCP-8554: To aid me in my destiny, I was given two divine weapons, a spear and an axe. Both of them, unbreakable and sharper than the eye can see.
SCP-8554: So, with all of this in mind, I begin fulfilling my purpose and I was very good at it. The gods loved the feasts I was bringing them and for a time, everything went as it was supposed to. That was until some gods got less than desired.
SCP-8554: You see, my people once prayed to certain gods in order to achieve victory, but then my people happened across the great crime of thinking. What purpose was there in praying to a god that might bless you with victory, when there was a warrior in your ranks that could guarantee it?
SCP-8554: And so their praise shifted. [Points to the symbols on its left upper chest] This left some gods without their supply of offerings, and this of course, left some gods angry. During this time, some gods began to scheme, and eventually, a god rises.
SCP-8554: The ruthless and feared Buluc Chabtan, the god of war, comes up to us from the underworld. I greet him with open arms, as one does with their creator, or at least one of them. I show him everything I have accomplished and he smiles with me. Little do I know, he has already begun poisoning the minds of my people.
SCP-8554: He sells them a lie, a tale, a falsehood, and makes them fear me. Convinced that I would turn on their city, my god and people, usurp my spear. I fight back, of course, and I win at first, that is until my guardians appear.
SCP-8554: In an instant, they descend from the clouds and wrap around me, crushing every part of me. I try my hardest to escape, but with the help of him, I lose. They strip me of my weapons and imprison me below the very temple I was gifted on. And to ensure I could never escape, they chain me below, like a beast, and set those serpents to be my personal wardens.
SCP-8554: For years, I sit below that temple hearing everything, even the fall of my city until eventually, I fall asleep. For 800 years, I waited down there and then you came. Even when I was freed, they couldn't risk me existing, so my guardians, the great messengers they were, summon a projection of him and that is what I fought.
[The room is silent for a while.]
Dr. Yanez: So, what's this about?
[Dr. Yanez pulls a photo of the mural under Structure-II and puts it up to the glass.]
[SCP-8554 stares at the photo in silence.]
SCP-8554: Fake. All of that is what my people thought I was going to do. Half of what is on there are things I cannot even do, although it is not entirely untrue.
[SCP-8554 points to two serpents wrapping around something in the photo.]
SCP-8554: Those are my guards dragging me below the temple.
Dr. Yanez: Are you sure?… They kind of look like they're dragging you from the sky.
SCP-8554: They are not.
[SCP-8554 points to a man in the photo.]
SCP-8554: And that is my accuser.
[Dr. Yanez pulls the photo back and looks at it.]
Dr. Yanez: Well, if that's the case, what do you make of this?
[Dr. Yanez points to the depiction of a man getting eaten by countless snakes.]
SCP-8554: The cor- (Clears throat) Man?
Dr. Yanez: Yeah…
SCP-8554: I do not know. I know what you refer to and I promise you that I do not know how. It is not something I have ever done or been able to do. If I could explain it, I would.
Dr. Yanez: Are you sure?
[SCP-8554 becomes slightly irritated.]
SCP-8554: I understand your curiosity, but I would never willingly make my people do something like that.
Dr. Yanez: Alright, alright, I'm just here to find out more.
Dr. Moore: We're getting heated here, let's just calm down and start again.
Dr. Moore: What's your name?
SCP-8554: If I told you my name, would you stop calling me 8554?
Dr. Moore: Probably, depends on how cool your name sounds.
[SCP-8554 chuckles.]
SCP-8554: For most of my time there, my people called me "Alawq'ij aj cha".
Dr. Moore: What does that mean?
SCP-8554: "Great lord of obsidian", named after my armor.
Dr. Moore: So your armor is made of obsidian?
SCP-8554: No, named after the color.
Dr. Moore: Speaking of your armor, does it come off?
SCP-8554: No.
Dr. Moore: So, it's your actual body?
SCP-8554: No, but it might as well be.
Dr. Moore: But it healed with you.
SCP-8554: It is a great armor.
Dr. Moore: Right…
Dr. Yanez: I just have one more question, if this is all true, why haven't I heard about?
SCP-8554: What?
Dr. Yanez: If you really were the figure you claim to be, how come there aren't any tales or myths about you? I think a warrior sent from the heavens would definitely be something to write about.
SCP-8554: I do not know, although, it is from my understanding that you have discovered most tales about my people, not all. I am sure if you keep looking, you will find me.
Dr. Yanez: I… guess you're not wrong there.
Dr. Moore: I also have a couple more questions, going back to your story, are you saying that the man you fought was your god of war?
SCP-8554: I do not know how to describe it in this language, but he was more of a "message" or a "projection".
Dr. Moore: So it wasn't really him?
SCP-8554: No.
Dr. Moore: What happened to him after you fought?
SCP-8554: He died.
Dr. Moore: Well I know that, I meant what happened to his body?
SCP-8554: It disappeared.
Dr. Moore: How do you know that?
SCP-8554: You told me.
Dr. Moore: No, I didn't.
SCP-8554: I asked you and you said you could not find his body, therefore his body no longer exists.
Dr. Moore: What? How are you sure of that?
SCP-8554: Doctor, I ripped his heart out and showed it to him. He is not alive. I may not know what happened to his body, but he is far from the living.
Dr. Moore: And we don't have to worry about him coming back?
SCP-8554: No.
Dr. Moore: Are you sure?
SCP-8554: Yes.
Dr. Moore: Just making sure.
Dr. Yanez: Wait, if it was a "message", then how was it talking to you?
SCP-8554: Because it was his likeness.
Dr. Moore: I have another question. When they stripped you of your weapons, can we assume that they put both weapons in both boxes?
SCP-8554: That is correct.
Dr. Moore: And both boxes were equally durable?
SCP-8554: Doctor, I truly do not know who stole it. You are right, only someone as strong as me could have opened the box and I do not know who that could have been.
Dr. Moore: How are you this knowledgeable yet know nothing?
SCP-8554: You think I lie? You are asking me thing I have never witnessed!
Dr. Moore: Fine, fine, but tell me, what does the spear do?
SCP-8554: What?
Dr. Moore: Don't play dumb, the axe clearly obeys your commands or something along those lines. I'm guessing the spear doesn't, or else it would be here with us. So what does the spear do?
SCP-8554: (Silence)
Dr. Moore: Hey! You made a deal.
SCP-8554: (Sighs) The spear makes the wielder faster. That is why they took it instead of the axe, it allowed him to match my speed.
Dr. Moore: Is that all it does?
SCP-8554: Aside from being unbreakable, yes.
Dr. Moore: Okay… now onto the important questions.
Dr. Moore: That whole "mastering skills with just a touch" thing, is that how you know about us? It isn't just skills is it?
SCP-8554: Technique is one thing, the experience and muscle memory is another.
Dr. Moore: Okay, yeah, but when did you even- Oh my god, you did it to Melix.
SCP-8554: I also did it to her captain if that helps.
Dr. Yanez: An MTF captain? Oh, that's so much information. I think that's more than I know.
Dr. Moore: Shh! I get it. So you know everything they know?
SCP-8554: Unless they learned a lot since, then yes.
Dr. Moore: Shit.
Dr. Moore: Just for the record, do you mind explaining what exactly you know?
SCP-8554: All of their previous deployments, most of the layout of this site along with nine others, a vague location of most sites, all their battle tactics, most of your Task Forces, and a lot of "Items".
Dr. Moore: (Sighs) Is that my fuck up?
Dr. Yanez: (Shrugs shoulders) Probably not.
Dr. Moore: (Sighs) Doesn't matter now, I'm still getting yelled at for this.
Dr. Moore: Can you do that to anybody?
SCP-8554: I am not sure, care to try?
Dr. Moore: Yeah… I'll pass.
SCP-8554: Will you starting looking now?
Dr. Moore: I'll notify them, but mind you, it's not a guarantee it will be found, chances are that thing is in a museum or someone's personal collection by now.
SCP-8554: Maybe for any other organization that would have been a valid excuse.
Dr. Moore: I mean it. Also, in the meantime, I'm going to be conducting tests on you and per our agreement, you'll cooperate, yes?
SCP-8554: I will.
Dr. Moore: Well, I'm done, you got any more questions?
Dr. Yanez: No.
Dr. Moore: Alright, this interview is over. Thanks for being cooperative.
SCP-8554: Mm.
<End Log>
Addendum-2: As of 26/7/20██, the Foundation will honor the agreement with SCP-8554 and begin passively searching for [REDACTED]. If and/or when [REDACTED] is found, SCP-8554 is to be notified and the object is to be contained at any Foundation site with the exception of Site-17.

Hi Yanez, I thought about what you said and while the agreement will still stand, I would like to know if you could send me any information you have on Maya mythology and the city of Calakmul.
Thanks in advance, Luna Moore

[Footage shows Dr. Moore, Dr. Yanez, and SCP-8554 sitting in a room divided by bullet proof glass. In the middle of the room are two halves of a table, divided by said glass.]
Dr. Moore: Alright, this interview is over. Thanks for being cooperative.
SCP-8554: Mm.
[SCP-8554 stands up and walks to the door located on its side of the room. The door soon opens and SCP-8554 is escorted by Foundation security.]
[SCP-8554's footsteps can be heard going further down the hall until they completely fade away.]
[Dr. Yanez exhales in relief.]
Dr. Moore: Don't worry, 8554 also freaked me out the first time too.
Dr. Yanez: That's not it.
Dr. Moore: What do you mean?
Dr. Yanez: I don't know if you could tell, but 8554 was lying out of its ass.
Dr. Moore: Oh, definitely, I don't think half of what it was saying was true.
Dr. Yanez: I think it lied about way more.
Dr. Moore: Like what?
Dr. Yanez: Honestly, probably everything, but what I do know for certain is that, that axe doesn't belong to 8554, or maybe it does and 8554 is lying about what it is.
Dr. Moore: Elaborate.
Dr. Yanez: You see, that axe might actually have stories about it, I'm thinking it's the axe of Chaac, remember?
Dr. Moore: Yeah, I remember your little lecture during examination, but what makes you think that?
Dr. Yanez: First, the engravings.
Dr. Moore: Didn't you say the engravings could've been an homage?
Dr. Yanez: Yeah, that was until I found out that 8554-A was supposedly unbreakable.
Dr. Yanez: Second, when I was watching the MTF vlogs, I noticed that one of the first things 8554 did with that axe was throw it into the sky and immediately after that, it started raining. Coincidence? Probably not. Now? Definitely not.
Dr. Moore: Why didn't you say something back then if you knew the potential origins?
Dr. Yanez: Because I wasn't sure, it literally didn't click in my head until now. Even then I wasn't going to tell 8554 that I knew it was lying about everything. Would you?
Dr. Moore: I mean, 8554 did say it was given the weapons.
Dr. Yanez: I could see that but, you don't know the actual significance of the axe. To put it in perspective, that's like Thor giving up his hammer or Zeus giving up his thunderbolt.
Dr. Moore: (Sighs) My god.
Dr. Moore: You're sure about this?
Dr. Yanez: That or 8554 isn't what it says it is.
Dr. Moore: You think we should confront it?
Dr. Yanez: (Silence)
Dr. Yanez: I think we should maybe hold off on the agreement.
Dr. Moore: You plan on telling that to 8554?
Dr. Yanez: Well, it seemed alright about the idea.
Dr. Moore: Everything seems fine until we're stains on the wall.
Dr. Yanez: Didn't you say it had to uphold its end of the deal?
Dr. Moore: That's just something I said hoping it would make a difference, they told me to accept the deal regardless.
Dr. Yanez: So we're just going to let it lie and use us? Just like that?
Dr. Moore: Well, until we can do something about it, yeah. I know that sounds bad but listen, if we find that spear, chances are we can also use it, just in case.
Dr. Moore: If that spear is anything like the one that "message" was using, then we have something against 8554. Until then, I'll pitch to the Foundation about countermeasures.
Dr. Yanez: What if it does get that spear and just does whatever it wants?
Dr. Moore: Then the search itself gives us time to prepare. I know what you're feeling, y'know I nearly shat myself when 8554 asked me about how many men it was worth.
Dr. Yanez: Do we just let it think we don't know?
Dr. Moore: Right now, that's probably the best way to handle this.
Dr. Yanez: (Sighs) I hope you're right.
