Special Containment Procedures: SCP-8086 is to be contained within a temperature-controlled aquatic chamber located in Site-██. The chamber must house a pool with the dimensions of 10m x 6m x 3m, filled with purified, non-chlorinated water. The temperature should always remain at 16°C.
The pool structure is constructed from high-grade reinforced concrete, coated in a waterproof and corrosion resistant lining. Refer to Addendum 1-A for procedures in the event of structural degradation.
Description: All instances of SCP-8086 resemble ███████-branded dive toy squids. Thirteen instances currently exist, designated SCP-8086-1 through to SCP-8086-13. SCP-8086 is incredibly agile in water, with all instances being able to reach 50KPM. When attacking, SCP-8086 latches onto the arms, legs, and other extremities of nearby individuals. SCP-8086 will wrap its "tentacles" around the victims body part with a constricting grip. When attached, SCP-8086 releases an unknown neurotoxin which disrupts the host's nervous system, shutting down all bodily functions and resulting in death within minutes. SCP-8086 is exceptionally difficult to remove from a host when the SCP has attached itself. Personal are to be considered lost if SCP-8086 has attached itself onto a limb for longer than 10 seconds.
SCP-8086 thrives in aquatic environments; however, when optimal water conditions are not met, SCP-8086 will enter a agitated stage, it will migrate itself to another water source meeting the right water conditions, if a obstacle is present, SCP-8086 is recorded to release a corrosive substance capable of eroding any material. It will do this until all 13 of its variants has reached a water source to its likings.
note: SCP-8086 does not exhibit any facial expressions, the only part of the SCP to move is its tentacles.
Addendum:
NOTICE FROM THE ETHICS COMMITTEE
As per [DATA EXPUNGED] vote, all further testing of SCP-8086 that contain D-Class Personnel are cancelled.
— Eric Barnes, Committee Chairman, Ethics Committee
Recall process (█/█/██): In the event of SCP-8086 breaching, a thorough search of the site must be conducted to locate the breach point from which SCP-8086 escaped. At this point, MTF units Beta-2 and Gamma-6 are alerted of the event and dispatched to the nearest body of water to Site-██. Both MTF units are to begin canvasing the area in hunt of SCP-8086. When the anomaly is sighted or linked to reports of deaths consistent with the effects of SCP-8086, both MTF units are to be dispatched to the location immediately. SCP-8086 is to be lured into a 10 M x 11 M net by a human, preferably the next Class-D ready for disposable at Site-██. Raw beef should also be added gradually in case SCP-8086 does not respond to attempts of recontainment.
SCP Review Notes (From Dr. ███████): SCP-8086 lies dormant, resting at the bottom of the containment pool until it is "hungry". SCP-8086 likes raw beef, and humans are only to be used in the event of breaches.
Addendum 1-A: In the event of structural degradation, water from the containment pool is to be pumped into a backup pool for the duration of the maintenance. During this, only personal of L4 or higher are permitted to enter either pools for security purposes.
Recovery of SCP-8086 (█/█/██): SCP-8086 was found to be in a remote freshwater lake approximately ██ kilometers from Site-██. MTF Beta-2 was dispatched following reports of unusual aquatic behavior from local fishermen. The anomaly was captured in a net and transported to Research Site-██. But following Breach 8086-A, SCP-8086's Research Director was replaced and it is now housed at [DATA EXPUNGED].
Breach 8086-A (█/██/██): When recovered and brought to [DATA EXPUNGED], Dr. ████ was put in charge of research into SCP-8086. However, due to low security precautions. SCP-8086 was breached, it managed its way into Site-██ water infrastructure. E&T Director ██████ managed to reroute water back into SCP-8086's containment pool and conditions of the pool were brought back to normal. Dr. ████ was heavily reprimanded and containment procedures have since been reevaluated.
