Object Class: Zeno / Shekhinah
SCP-4191-JP.
Special Containment Procedures: Since the access point to SCP-4191-JP cannot be relocated from its discovery site, the entire office building in question has been cordoned off. Subsidiary Observation Outpost #4191 has been established, with a minimum of one security officer assigned to monitor the location at all times. Any occurrence of irregularities must be reported immediately via the hotline to Site-10.
Description: Discovered in Houston, Texas, in 1996. A maintenance worker access passageway in the underground parking garage attached to an office building disappeared, and the area beyond the door now connects to this area. The door on the opposite side was confirmed to lead into a concrete wall.
SCP-4191-JP is a space of unknown volume. The ground is covered with grass, beneath which lies ordinary soil. No abnormalities were detected in the soil composition. Identical plants resembling rubber trees are arrayed almost uniformly throughout the area. The trees themselves exhibit no paranormal characteristics.
Progressing further into the area, several particular conditions can be observed. Among the cases observed to date, those particularly noteworthy are listed below:
- Completely withered trees, often found fallen. Exceptionally rare examples may have flowers placed near them.
- Trees equipped with speakers playing random music box melodies. The melodies change occasionally and rarely switch to a recording of the 1980s All Things Considered.
- A dense cluster of trees in one spot. Muffled voices can be heard from an interior space enclosed by the trees, though their content is unclear. Attempts to cut down the trees revealed the presence of numerous items of clothing packed inside. The source of the voices could not be identified.
- Saplings, often with hats placed on them.
- A treehouse that seems to be supported by multiple trees. The structure has no visible seams, potentially suggesting it developed naturally from the trees. Inside the structure were several Spam cans with an expiration date of 1989; some had been opened and were left in a state of advanced spoilage.
- A utility pole. Its hollow interior was lined with shoes.
- Trees with human face photographs nailed to them. These photographs match those of individuals who had been reported missing in the state in the past, though some of them were later found alive and in good health.
- A television (Zenith Y1926W, 1982) and a video cassette recorder (Panasonic PV-1270, 1981) positioned in an open spot. The ends of the wiring were embedded underground. At the time of discovery, a recorded tape of Sesame Street was inserted into the VCR. Notably, the surrounding trees were curved toward the television.
After traveling approximately twenty miles south through the forest, the trees become sparse, and eventually are replaced by numerous humanoid entities. These humanoid entities have their feet buried in the ground and remain standing motionless in an upright position. They continuously track the explorer’s movements with their eyes. Their internal structure has been confirmed to still resemble that of trees; research is ongoing.
It is currently unknown whether similar scenery extends in other directions.
