User: Male, 34 years old
Subject: The user's son, currently living with his stepfather and mother
Result: Visitation was granted one month later

Item #: SCP-4184-JP

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: All fifty produced copies of SCP-4184-JP have been recovered and are currently contained in a sleeve folder along with a desiccant in a low-risk item containment locker at Site-8184.

Efforts to identify and locate SCP-4184-JP-a are ongoing. The conduction of enticement experiments involving individuals with a high probability of encounter are currently pending.

Description: SCP-4184-JP is a postcard featuring a photograph of the Lynn Floating Bridge1. When placed under a pillow before sleep, SCP-4184-JP induces a dream in which the user stands at the same vantage point as in the photograph and sees a person they currently wish to meet most approaching from the opposite riverbank.

The distance between the user and the subject varies depending on their relationship and the circumstances, and becomes closer as the day of their potential meeting approaches. If the subject is deceased or the likelihood of a reunion is extremely low, the distance does not close, and the user is awakened prematurely by the swaying of the bridge or its sinking into the water.

When the user awakens from sleep, the subject appears in SCP-4184-JP at the closest distance seen in the dream. The subject and their proximity reflected in SCP-4184-JP are updated each time it is used, and return to its default state once the user meets the subject in reality.

The subject's approach rate is not constant; cases have been observed where the user's proactive actions trigger acceleration, or intentional third-party interference results in the distance increasing instead. While several users interpreted this object as a novelty item that allows them to meet their loved ones faster the more they use it, it has been confirmed that this perception stems from the increased motivation and behavioral changes prompted by dreaming of the subject, and is not an inherent anomalous property of the object itself.

Addendum 1: During the containment and experimentation with SCP-4184-JP, multiple cases have been confirmed in which entities unknown to the user appear in their dreams. Although these entities cannot be precisely identified as they typically maintain a considerable distance from the user, they share the common characteristics of having distorted outlines and dropping their body parts while approaching, which has led to their provisional collective classification as SCP-4184-JP-a. Several users reported witnessing SCP-4184-JP-a emerging directly from the water and climbing onto the center of the bridge before initiating approach. The creator of SCP-4184-JP, currently detained by the Foundation, has vehemently denied any knowledge of SCP-4184-JP-a and insists that its appearance was not intended.

Addendum 2: Profiling surveys have identified certain shared patterns among users who experienced dreams involving SCP-4184-JP-a. Analysis indicates that the more of these patterns a user exhibits, the more likely they are to encounter SCP-4184-JP-a in their dreams.
