An SCP-3155-JP-α instance washed ashore on the coast of Chiba Prefecture, inactive.

Special Containment Procedures: Upon confirmed occurrence of an SCP-3155-JP event, Mobile Task Force と-7 ("Waterfront Quarantine"), specifically organized to counter extradimensional entities, is to be dispatched immediately. Recovered SCP-3155-JP-α instances are to be transported to the Department of Anomalous Biology at Site-81AM and contained within Class 5 or higher containment units as specified by HMCL supervisors. Entry into containment areas without adequate protective gear against hostile organisms is restricted.

Countermeasures against dimensional invasion by SCP-3155-JP-β are ongoing, including investigation of SCP-3155-JP-β and its originating dimension, by a dedicated research team jointly established by Site-81AM's Departments of Practical Occultism, Dimensional Anomalies, and Anomalous Biology. Following a proposal by Senior Researcher Satani, the team's current research focus is progressively shifting towards attempts to confirm the status of SCP-3155-JP-β.

Description: SCP-3155-JP is an anomalous phenomenon observed occurring every 7 days, 17 hours, 11 minutes, and 6 seconds in the vicinity of the Miura Peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, and its surrounding land/water areas. SCP-3155-JP events are characterized by elements such as blood, roars, and flesh fragments, and in most cases begin with a phase-overlapping of an indeterminate area approximately 2.3 meters above the ground surface.

Upon occurrence of SCP-3155-JP, a roar-like sound exceeding 120db emanates from the phase-overlapped space while a massive quantity of viscous red liquid overflows and pours down onto the surrounding area. During this period, the affected space is believed to function as a portal based on Hermann-Stratos Interdimensional Gateway Theory. Subsequently, biological tissue suspected to be part of an organism begins to protrude from within the space into the baseline dimension.

However, this emergence is extremely slow, and SCP-3155-JP events terminate before the tissue can protrude sufficiently into the baseline dimension, often due to the instability of the phase-overlap state. As a result, the biological tissue is sheared off at the edge of space and falls to the ground as soon as an event concludes. These flesh fragments generated as byproducts of SCP-3155-JP events are designated SCP-3155-JP-α.

SCP-3155-JP-α instances remain active independently even after the SCP-3155-JP event concludes. They exhibit hostile behavior toward nearby creatures and undergo morphological changes where their tissue surfaces develop textures resembling the functional similarities of mollusk radulae, enabling them to actively attempt predation on said creatures.

Notably, the cell division and proliferation of SCP-3155-JP-α's bodily tissues are significantly accelerated when [CLEARANCE LEVEL 5 REQUIRED] contained within them absorbs human (Homo sapiens) blood; this has caused several cases of catastrophic chain reactions when SCP-3155-JP events occurred in densely populated areas (see 'Incident-Alpha18' and other similar cases).

Addendum: It is currently believed that SCP-3155-JP is a phenomenon originating from a specific colossal anomalous entity (designated SCP-3155-JP-β) from outside the base dimension. This theory — that SCP-3155-JP emerged as an aftereffect of SCP-3155-JP-β's attempt to invade the baseline dimension, with its detached and sent-in fragment being SCP-3155-JP-α — gained significant traction based on the discovery circumstances of SCP-3155-JP described below.

In 1987, the Foundation raided the residence of business tycoon Wakakura Munehito, prompted by multiple disappearances of women in and around Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is believed that Wakakura, who was deeply interested in occultism, had become engrossed in anomalous rituals related to Western black magic at some point. Evidence discovered within his residence indicated that pedophilic human sacrifice and orgy parties involving cannibalism were frequently held there.

When Mobile Task Forces raided the premises, Wakakura and his supporters were in the midst of performing a ritual aimed at manifesting an anomalous entity called 'Baphometh' into the baseline dimension. Immediately after the ritual site was stormed and they were apprehended, Wakakura and his supporters were killed by their bodies being violently twisted by an unknown external force. This is presumed to be the result of the ritual being interrupted in an incomplete state due to Foundation intervention.

A document transcribed below was left at the site. The red text was written in blood matching Wakakura's genetic information, though the handwriting does not match his.

I offer unto the God of Calamity

Baphomet.png

The blood of pure maidens, now fulfilled
The flesh and bones of a goat as your vessel, now fulfilled
The freedom of my soul, now fulfilled
The wealth that reshapes human lives, now fulfilled
The unceasing flame, be fulfilled further
The knowledge that illuminates this world, now fulfilled
The millennial throne, be fulfilled further

Heed my invocation of demonomancy, by ancient covenant
I am he who sought thee, Baphometh, I shall answer

Within hours of this incident, the first SCP-3155-JP event was observed. As similar events continued to occur thereafter, the Foundation designated this anomalous phenomenon as an SCP object and commenced containment efforts. Dr. Demono (then serving) of the Department of Practical Occultism at Site-81AM proposed the hypothesis that the ritual was performed with insufficient procedural steps and offerings, thereby adversely affecting the time and scale required for the anomalous entity SCP-3155-JP-β, also referred to as 'Baphometh,' to manifest into the baseline dimension.

Genetic analysis of SCP-3155-JP-α suggests that SCP-3155-JP-β possesses similarities to both humans (Homo sapiens) and goats (Capra aegagrus hircus) among known biological species, and that its physical body can potentially reach a height of at least 3000 meters. Although its actual form remains unobserved, the total mass of SCP-3155-JP-α recovered to date strongly indicates that SCP-3155-JP-β is an extremely large entity.

Annual statistics from Site-81AM indicate that both the duration of SCP-3155-JP events and the volume of SCP-3155-JP-α generated show a slight but consistent increase each year. Given the anticipated severity of damage when SCP-3155-JP-β fully manifests in the baseline dimension, SCP-3155-JP remains classified as a Keter-class object of the highest priority, with fundamental countermeasures continually being explored to date.

Update (20██): On 20██/██/██, a typical SCP-3155-JP event occurred off the coast of Shōnan, though the loud, roar-like sound normally accompanying it was not detected. Over the following two months, the volume of red liquid released during SCP-3155-JP events began to decrease dramatically, and subsequently recovered SCP-3155-JP-α instances were found completely inactive. Autopsies confirmed these instances had lost all capacity to function by the time they manifested in the baseline dimension due to severe tissue decay.

In response to these developments, Site-81AM Director Shiranaka convened an emergency meeting involving the dedicated SCP-3155-JP research team. The following is an excerpt from the meeting log.

Site-81AM: Third Conference Room

Dir. Shiranaka: Now, have me hear your report. Has anything been discovered about the change in the anomaly's properties?

Sr. Rsr. Satani: On behalf of the dedicated research team, I will state the findings. Firstly, the recovered SCP-3155-JP-α instances showed no signs of becoming active even when given human blood, unlike previous ones. Additionally, various putrefactive microorganisms such as Pseudomonas were detected within the tissue. As we reported beforehand, their body tissue appeared to be in a state of decay, but it seems almost certain that this is not a form of temporary mimicry or dormancy.

Dir. Shiranaka: So what are the implications?

Sr. Rsr. Satani: Well, the most noteworthy point is that these microorganisms showed no particular differences from those we are familiar with. This suggests either that the extradimensional environment where SCP-3155-JP-β exists has formed an ecosystem highly similar to our baseline dimension, or that microorganisms from our side have propagated there due to repeated SCP-3155-JP events, or possibly —

Dir. Shiranaka: You're as long-winded as ever. Look, I didn't summon you urgently just to confirm such trivialities. I want to determine whether this is an omen of good or ill for us. For decades, we've been plagued by those demonic pieces of flesh invading from another dimension, accompanied by roars and overflowing blood… But now, the roaring has stopped, the blood has dried up, and the flesh pieces fall in a rotten state. It's fair to say the entire situation has changed.

Rsr. Itsuki: Allow me, Itsuki from the Department of Practical Occultism, to add one point. No significant changes have been observed in the SCP-3155-JP phenomenon itself.

Dir. Shiranaka: What do you mean?

Rsr. Itsuki: SCP-3155-JP refers to a portal opening to an extradimensional space due to phase-overlap. It was initiated by Wakakura's ritual and is still active; we've confirmed that the duration per cycle continues to increase even now. The clearly identifiable changes only concern the previously simultaneous occurrences of the roar, the overflowing blood, and the flesh fragments known as SCP-3155-JP-α.

Sr. Rsr. Satani: That's precisely the point! Assuming the roar, blood, and flesh were not directly related to the SCP-3155-JP event itself, these changes can be explained.

Dir. Shiranaka: What's the big surprise here? SCP-3155-JP-α and the blood were just parts of that demon, and the roar was simply what it emitted, wasn't it? …Wait, if that's the case, does that mean SCP-3155-JP-β is currently unable to roar?

Sr. Rsr. Satani: Exactly! Just as Dr. Demono hypothesized, the ritual's failure forced SCP-3155-JP-β to invade this world gradually over many years, rather than fully manifesting all at once as intended. Given the current situation, it seems this was an unexpectedly fatal miscalculation.

Rsr. Itsuki: As seen in the discovered document, SCP-3155-JP-β had already agreed to an esoterically binding contract. It likely couldn't stop itself. So it kept shoving its colossal body into the intermittently opening portal, which it had no way of passing through, only to get sliced to pieces. Those severed flesh fragments are SCP-3155-JP-α instances.

Dir. Shiranaka: Hold on. Then what about that overflowing blood?

Rsr. Itsuki: Bleeding from the wounds, I'd say. Dimensional rifts can be quite sharp.

Dir. Shiranaka: …And the roar?

Rsr. Itsuki: It's just my guess, but it must have been unbearably painful. Think of it like having your body sliced off inch by inch from your fingertips. It wouldn't be surprising if the demon screamed.

Sr. Rsr. Satani: The screaming and bleeding have ceased, and the flesh pieces are beginning to rot. The reason they could wriggle freely until now was undoubtedly because they were severed while still fresh. Now, here's the catch: if the microorganisms discovered in SCP-3155-JP-α instances are indigenous to the other side of the portal, the massive bleeding likely had some detrimental effect. And since the wounds were constantly exposed to the dimensional boundary, the demon could have been infected by pathogens originating from our side. There are various possibilities, but the root cause is almost certainly the years of gradual dismemberment.

Dir. Shiranaka: [Sighs]

Sr. Rsr. Satani: Basically, SCP-3155-JP-β is most likely already dead.

As of writing, SCP-3155-JP events continue to be observed while no active SCP-3155-JP-α instances have been recovered. Unless evidence of SCP-3155-JP-β's survival is obtained by the end of the provisional period as decided in the meeting, its Object Class is scheduled to be reclassified to Euclid upon revision of this report.
