Description: SCP-1538 is a brand of bottled body wash soap marketed as “FACTORY BRAND ODOR REPLACING BODY WASH”. All individual instances of SCP-1538 are uniformly orange in colour and display the brand name, instance title and ingredient list, appearing to have these details stencilled onto the bottles post-manufacture. These bottles do not display any anomalous properties. SCP-1538 instances will always be encountered on appropriate shelving in various convenience stores; store records will not list any shipments of SCP-1538 being expected or received.
When an individual uses the contents of an SCP-1538 instance to bathe, the individual’s scent will change for a period of 24 hours to a predetermined scent dependent upon the title listed upon the SCP-1538 instance. The scent induced by an SCP-1538 instance can only be hindered or masked by the application of a different SCP-1538 instance’s contents – until the conclusion of the 24 hour period, the induced scent will be predominant over all other applied scents. The majority of SCP-1538 instances cause additional anomalous effects that persist as long as the predefined scent of the respective SCP-1538 instance does, after which all changes induced are typically reverted.
