SCP-076-ID

rating: +6+–x

written by Enachia

To all personnel of the Multiversal and Extradimensional Archival Committee,

No one can know what the future holds, despite what we commonly call "fate." If we could foresee what is to come, we would not only know how the world will change, but also how we might save the millions, or even billions, of lives that inhabit it. We are still far from prepared for whatever comes next—whether it is years, months, days, or even mere seconds away. Knowledge is power, and information will be our foremost weapon and our strongest bulwark in our efforts to make the world we inhabit a better place. Their sacrifices and contributions will not have been in vain, because we are the ones who will carry the torch of life onward, in the name of humanity. We will always secure it, contain it, and protect it.

— Stephen W. Foster, Director of the Multiverse and Extradimensional Archival Committee U-1045.

The interior of SCP-076-ID Reading Room.

Special Containment Procedures: Pursuant to the Memorandum initiated by the Foundation's Multiverse and Extradimensional Archival Committee, information regarding the existence of SCP-076-ID may only be disseminated to a select number of representatives of the Foundation's Records and Information Security Administration in each universe.

As an addition to the existing Memorandum of Understanding, in the event of a K-Class scenario occurring within a given universe, Records and Information Security Administration personnel aware of SCP-076-ID's existence are required to enact Procedure Alexandria by recording relevant information regarding the scenario and evacuating vital information and personnel to SCP-076-ID until further notice.

Rooms leading to SCP-076-ID are to remain closed and concealed from all Foundation personnel at all times. Access to SCP-076-ID may only be granted while Procedure Alexandria is in progress.

Description: SCP-076-ID is an extradimensional library located within its own dimension, unbound by linear universe or any specific universe in general. Based on manuscripts and journals containing knowledge and research on various anomalous phenomena that indicate a threat to their universe of origin, SCP-076-ID is believed to have originated from a universe that experienced a K-Class scenario.

Currently, SCP-076-ID is inhabited by several members of the Records and Information Security Administration from various universes previously destroyed by K-Class scenarios. These personnel manage all incoming and outgoing information across existing universes.

SCP-076-ID can be accessed through a door that was formerly a storage room at Site-86. As of November 20, 2019, the area accessible through the door had been converted entirely into a library. The interior architecture of SCP-076-ID features a non-Euclidean structure in its main lobby, with staircases, hallways, and floors arranged in abstract geometric forms. However, the direction of gravity corresponds to the architecture itself, allowing individuals to navigate the interior safely.

The library structure is divided into several sections, including:

  • Main lobby
  • Eight archival rooms
  • Four reading rooms
  • Two meeting rooms
  • Two lounges
  • Various unassigned rooms

Additionally, four (4) exit doors located within the library lead to Site-86 across different universes.

Addendum 076-ID.1: Recorded K-Class Scenarios

Universe K-Class Classification Sequence of K-Class Scenario
U-1933 XK-Class End-of-the-World Scenario The dimensional gateway where SCP-001-CLEF is located opens wide, causing identical entities to arrive and begin obliterating not only its containment area, but all territory they reach. The Foundation is unable to counterattack this scenario, due to the thousands of SCP-001-CLEF instances that have spread across the world. The RAISA Director and two O5 Council members are successfully evacuated to SCP-076-ID.
U-110 SK-Class Dominance Shift Scenario The Emergence of the Daevite Empire and Race spreads across the world. This is due to the Foundation failing to fully acquire and destroy every copy of SCP-140, resulting in the rebirth of the Daevite Empire in the modern world. Despite extensive efforts to track down and destroy SCP-140, these attempts ultimately fail as the Daevites thwart Foundation operations while conquering three-quarters of Europe.
U-4994 CK-Class Reality Restructuring Scenario A universe in which SCP-239 is not under additional containment procedures due to opposition from the Ethics Committee. However, this has a detrimental effect on its containment, leading SCP-239 to rebel of its own accord. Dr. Clef's attempt to decommission SCP-239 receives approval from the O5 Council. Reality becomes increasingly unstable as SCP-239 grows more aggressive and begins destabilizing reality on an uncontrollable scale, beyond the control of both SCP-239 and the Foundation.

Addendum 076-ID.2: Following the Foundation in U-40911 becoming aware of the library's existence, efforts were made to contact Foundations across various universes to discuss the extradimensional anomaly accessible through Site-86—and to consider that the library serves as a collective anomaly across multiple universes, given that SCP-076-ID is not bound to any single timeline.

A proposal by O5-7 of U-105 suggested utilizing SCP-076-ID as an archival and record-keeping space for information regarding all anomalies existing across other universes. This proposal was deliberated with several other O5 Councils from various universes, ultimately reaching a consensus to establish the Foundation Multiverse and Extradimensional Archival Committee—which consists of representatives of RAISA and the O5 Councils from each participating universe, utilizing SCP-076-ID as:

  • A preservation space for information related to anomalous objects, phenomena, incidents, and events occurring across all universes, with the primary objective of recording K-Class events that threatened the stability or normalcy of previously affected universes.
  • Distribution of such information to Foundations in other universes as a preventative measure against anomalous phenomena or events that threaten the respective universe, preventing it from suffering the same fate.

Selected members of the Foundation's Multiverse and Extradimensional Archival Committee are responsible for managing and overseeing all incoming and outgoing information within SCP-076-ID. For personnel whose original universes were destroyed by K-Class Scenarios, all accommodations and basic necessities are supplied through SCP-███ to minimize the use of SCP-076-ID's interdimensional doors and maintain secrecy regarding its existence.
