Special Containment Procedures: SCP-005-ID is currently stored within a standard item containment locker in Wing-3 at Site-77. Personnel with Level-3 clearance or higher are permitted to conduct testing with SCP-005-ID, provided that their requested items are reviewed by Dr. Alvin beforehand. Approved items are to be recorded and placed into SCP-005-ID no later than 09:00 PM.

All instances of SCP-005-ID-1 manifested alongside other items must be retained within a storage locker in Archive Room C1 at Site-77. Attempts to establish communication with SCP-005-ID are currently pending approval from the Site Director.

Description: SCP-005-ID is a brown paper bag measuring 9 cm x 38 cm x 40 cm. The paper bag features a pair of white handles at the top, and the phrase “Mme. baget punya” (Mme. baguette's) written in marker ink on both sides. SCP-005-ID has proven to be waterproof and indestructible through any conventional means.

When placed with its top opening unsealed, a 50 cm baguette1 will manifest inside SCP-005-ID at 06:00 local time every morning. Surveillance footage shows no individual placing the bread inside SCP-005-ID; the bread manifests instantaneously, and its appearance goes unnoticed by observers at the moment of occurrence. The bread exhibits no anomalous properties and is safe for consumption. A folded piece of white paper (designated SCP-005-ID-1) also manifests alongside the baguette and any other requested food items within SCP-005-ID. The contents of the letters display the writing style of a woman in her 40s. Messages conveyed through these letters typically consist of questions regarding daily life addressed to an individual named Kirana. To date, no records exist regarding this individual.

Subjects may request any type of food item from SCP-005-ID, provided the request is written on a slip of paper and placed into SCP-005-ID prior to 00:00 (midnight). The maximum allowable weight for requested food is 3 kg. The requested food item will manifest wrapped in plastic or butcher paper alongside a baguette at 06:00 every morning, accompanied by SCP-005-ID-1 situated at the very bottom of the bag (refer to Test Log for a record of requested food items and the corresponding contents of SCP-005-ID-1).

Addendum 005-ID-1: Discovery Log
SCP-005-ID was acquired in mid-2011, following rumors circulating within a densely populated residential neighborhood in ██████, Medan, North Sumatra. These rumors referenced a “bread house”—an abandoned home situated at the dead end of an alley, filled with hundreds of “French loaves” in various conditions, ranging from fresh loaves to moldy ones. Dr. Alvin, a Foundation agent embedded within the local police department, subsequently swept the interior and surrounding grounds of the property.

Following cleanup operations, Foundation agents located SCP-005-ID at the very bottom of a stack of baguettes. It was secured along with all items inside the residence and turned over to Dr. Antoni, Head of Anomalous Item Research and Containment at Site-77. All involved parties and local residents within a 1 km radius of the discovery location were administered Class-B amnestics, while all photographs of the “bread house” circulating online were discredited as digital manipulations. Initially, Dr. Antoni classified the paper bag merely as “Anomalous Item 77-005.” However, following further testing, it was upgraded to SCP status and designated Safe.

The following is an excerpt from one of the letters designated SCP-005-ID-1 recovered during initial containment. Dr. Alvin noted that all recovered letters conveyed a distinct tone of "anxiety" and "concern."

Kirana, how are you, sweetheart? Are you doing okay? Mama just wants to know how you're doing. Mama made your favorite bread again today. Mama doesn't want anything from you, sweetie… Mama just wants you to be able to enjoy my cooking again. Just write down whatever you'd like to eat and put it in this paper bag before midnight, and Mama will make it and send it to you. Please, Mama just wants to make you smile again…

Addendum 005-2: Test Log-005-A
Foreword: (11/11) Following Dr. Alvin's discovery regarding the brown paper bag capable of producing a baguette every morning, as well as the letter appearing alongside the bread stating that users may request any type of food by placing a request note inside the bag, we are interested in conducting further testing on this anomalous item. Personnel with Level-3 clearance or higher are permitted to submit their requested food items to Dr. Alvin, to be subsequently gathered and placed inside SCP-005-ID. -Dr. Antoni

Addendum 005-2: Dr. Antoni's Note 005-3

(02/13) I believe the few tests we conducted on Anomalous Item 77-005 are sufficient to explain how this object functions. Reviewing the contents of the letters emerging alongside the item indicates that this letter, or whoever is sending it, possesses an awareness of the time in their surroundings. Considering all the findings from the above tests, I have decided to reclassify this item as an SCP object and designate it as Safe. Next, I will carry out procedures to transfer the item to a containment locker in Wing-3 of Site-77. Testing involving the object will remain permitted under the supervision of Dr. Alvin.

Addendum 005-3: Dr. Antoni's Note 005-4

(04/13) Two months have passed since SCP-005-ID was upgraded to SCP status. Several personnel conducting tests have noted improvements, including larger food portions as well as higher-quality food items being requested. We will continue to monitor and record any further changes that may still occur.
