It was a fun few years. I came away from it with a lot: improved storytelling ability, working knowledge of HTML/CSS, and proficiency in Wikidot's ins-and-outs — for all that's worth! In exchange, I think I left behind a good bit; there's a setting here, characters, stories involving them. I have seen people say they are fans of "my work". I am glad to have created some joy.
But there is some hesitation. I do not think I comported myself perfectly here. I was a child (in mind, if not in body), and so I behaved as a child. I blundered, I misspoke, and I inserted myself where I did not belong. I was very annoying, in a word. This is forgivable, I think, and hardly the grossest offense.
Still, there is more trouble with my recollection. I have seen people say they are fans of my work, but that feels very distant and abstract. My work is not a part of me, and if it ever were, it belongs to a Nagiros who exists in the past as a different creature altogether. You may as well compliment a spontaneous mirage of colors which has appeared in the air of my home.
So, I have concluded that it was a fun few years for these two reasons: one, because I realized that my love of storytelling thrives in private, and two, because of the friends I found here. For as much as I loved to impress the digital other, the physical other just imparts such greater joy. To lean across a table, to sweep ones arms, to flash a grin before a grand reveal: all this is divine! It is utterly divine, and thanks to this site, I have so many others to share in it.
If you read this, I imagine you to be one of only a single-digit number — I am not famous, my author page is of little import, and this message is somewhat hidden! Allow me to exploit this strange intimacy at the end of things, then: the halls in which you walk are beautiful. They will restore all that you give to them. Appreciate them, cherish them, and stand in awe of them. No place is quite like this!
Kind regards,
Nagiros
