Welcome to

First off, this is NOT an official SCP Wiki contest. This contest is run by SCP Declassified staff. However, the Site Staff has graciously given us permission to post an announcement page on the main site. Many thanks for that!

Here at SCPD, we believe practically anything can be an SCP. We have SCPs about everything from a vibrator that disintegrates anything on contact to We Are Number One to Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf. So, we've decided to push that to its limits!

The basis for this contest is going to be heavily inspired by Cliché-Con 2019. As with Cliché-Con, consider this a challenge. Can you take the weirdest, most bizarre parts of our internet culture and turn them into a real SCP? I bet you can!

So, what is a meme, you may ask? This should be fairly self-explanatory but memes have existed on the internet practically since its inception. Internet Memes tend to be culturally pervasive images, ideas, stories, fragments that get passed around almost like a virus, changing meaning and mutating beyond its original intent. Generally, they are meant to be humorous but that is not always the case.

For this contest, use your best judgement, and if you really are unsure, feel free to message WoedenazWoedenaz

Additionally, keep CC BY-SA 3.0 in mind as not all memes are okay under this license. Writing about them is likely acceptable but using an image of them might not be. If unsure, it is best to ask the SCP Licensing team and/or contact Elenee FishTruckElenee FishTruck.

Contest Rules

  1. Your SCP must have at least one meme as its basis (yes, you can have more than one.) It must be featured prominently in the article. If you are unsure, message WoedenazWoedenaz either via PM or Discord.
  2. A memetic-based SCP does not count as a meme-based SCP. The SCP can, of course, be memetic in nature but that, alone, does not count.
  3. Your article must be a main-list SCP, not a tale. This also means it cannot be a -J or -EX.
  4. You are allowed to make minor edits after the posting period is over, ie. minor formatting, grammar and spelling mistakes, anything that does not change the bulk of the article.
  5. Your article must be at least +20 to be considered for the prizes.
  6. The article must be newly written and not based on something previously written or sitting in your sandbox.
  7. After posting the article, make an author post explaining what the meme you used is (even if it is obvious within the article.)
  8. Only ONE article is allowed for entry.
  9. Collaboration is allowed in teams of a maximum of TWO. If you collaborate, that counts as both collaborator's ONE article.
  10. Act in good faith. Do not take unusual or extraordinary actions to spur on votes for your's or any competitor's article. This includes:
    • Mass PMing users on any platform asking for your article to be read or voted on.
    • Using your platform as an "influencer" to funnel your fans towards your article.
    • Downvoting all competitor's articles or trying to encourage others to downvote competitor's articles.
