Event Log#: EE-MNY0505
Status: Concluded
Overview: Extranormal Event began at approximately 5:55 am on May 5th, 2025, in Manhattan, NY. Members of the folk rock band, Window Weather, gathered at the intersection of Worth and Baxter and began an unannounced performance. The impromptu show drew a small crowd with only a few in attendance being familiar with the band's prior work. This may be as much to do with declining album sales as the spontaneity of the performance. A summary of the event is as follows:
- The band introduced themselves and played 4 previously unreleased songs.
- The band stopped to address the crowd. Speech lasted approximately 15 minutes consisting mostly of esoteric poetry and metaphors.
- Band began playing an untitled final song.
- An inversed plume of "bright smoke" is seen falling from the sky onto the band members.
- Song abruptly stops as the smoke rapidly rises and re-enters the atmosphere. No trace of the band members or their instruments is left on location.
- Snow begins to fall. Witnesses describe individual flakes as having 5 points as opposed to the standard 6-fold structure.
- Snow continues for 25 minutes before dissipating.
While the exact nature of the event is unknown, the following evidence along with witness testimony serves as an approximation of the event.
Addendum 01: Initial evidence gathered from the scene was limited. Snowflakes recovered were shown to have a melting point of 12.78°C1 and trace amounts of human DNA. Investigation confirmed the 5-fold radial structure. All samples were put into cryogenic containment for future study.
Information contained in the documents from individual members led to a follow-up sweep of the area. At equidistant measures from the location of the performance, new evidence was uncovered.
The following items match information contained in the documents found during investigations of the individual members:
- A jar containing 3,125 jelly beans
- A Yahtzee roll consisting of 5's.
- Chess pieces glued to a chessboard. The pieces are the rook, bishop, knight, king, and queen. Confiscated footage shows the arrangement reflects that of the band members during performance.
- A Buffalo nickel in a 10-gallon fish tank.
- A severed human hand. Fingerprint and DNA analysis have not confirmed an identity.

Addendum 02: Witness statements differ in both variety and scope regarding the event. However, most accounts describe the first 4 songs as unremarkable, feeling unfinished or rushed.
Several witnesses remarked that lead singer, Eddy Pelquint, appeared to be bleeding from his right hand but could not be sure due to it being wrapped in a thick scarf.
Deviations in testimony begin when describing the address to the crowd. Quotes regarding its nature are provided below:
- "An incoherent sermon."
- "An audio acid trip."
- "The profound abundance of the stars tickling you."
- "I could hear it in my nose."
- "It was like hearing the feeling when you know you've forgotten something."
Footage during this time period was severely distorted or lost suggesting possible electromagnetic interference.
Most accounts describe the final song as, "being played from all around" despite the band possessing only a small PA setup. Witnesses described the "bright smoke" as manifesting, descending, and then reascending back into the sky. Weather conditions prior to this were clear. However, individual accounts further deviate regarding the details of the event.
Several witnesses claimed nothing happened. The band simply left once the smoke cleared. Video footage refutes these statements. Testimonies are equally diverse with regards to the "bright smoke." Descriptions range from it being horizontal to, "a tornado doing its morning stretches," to, "God just dipping its fingers in the paint of our world."
Due to their incongruence, witness statements regarding this period are to be considered inadmissible. Despite this, corroboration of statements do indicate the song's performance matches the attached documentation. See Addendum 03.
Due to immediate concerns for normalcy, low-dose amnesticization was enacted for those in the immediate area.
Addendum 03: Further investigation into the studio and dwellings of Window Weather's members revealed details as to the aim and scope of Untitled's performance.
The performance was held at the center point of what used to be the 5 Points intersection in Manhattan. The city has since cleared and restructured the area.
Evidence Submission: EAS-12
It appears the keyboardist, Ellie Tamsen, was the designer of the performance. While each member decided on a "totem of belief," she gave the others direction with regards to their totem.
Below is a profile of each member with relevant notes and supplementary evidence included. (Note: all five members of the band called this song by a different name.)
Role: Drummer/Percussionist
Most of McKinley's notes revolve around trying to get the piece to fit a 5/8 time signature at 125 bpm.
His totem was the jar of jelly beans to which he referred to as "the proof of math."
He called the piece Doo-Willy (The Trance Continues).
Conclusion: It is assumed the event described was some sort of Fifthist ritual. To what point and purpose remains unknown as does its connection to other Fifthist sects. Surveillance of the area and further investigation are ongoing. Reproducible research regarding the event is currently not authorized.
Following the event and subsequent news reports, Window Weather's album sales rose by approximately 625%. Whether the members truly achieved some sort of transcendence or merely created an elaborate hoax to boost record sales remains unknown.
