[SCP-8679] — When I was a child, I had a fever dream
It was then that I demonstrated the union of the old knowledge of biochemistry and the new knowledge of gods and spells.[16 May 2025 14:20| 15 Comments] [+46]

My first article for EN, as well as the first entry I submitted to my first contest, IntCon. Essentially, it's a screw format in which the discovery of a now-destroyed biochemical weapon intersects with the story of its creator's life, only to collide at the end, where it becomes clear that the narrator is recounting his life story to a dream entity in order to allow his ghost to remain safe in the Curcarsi dimension.
It's my most voted article so far (and that says it all) and perhaps the one I'm most proud of, as I really appreciated being able to do a discreet, non-intrusive lore-dump for the reader, while also introducing them to the magical world of my GoI, Febris Farmaceutica/Pharmaceuticals.

As perhaps almost no one knows, 8690 is merely the second version of a draft with a much more distressing vision and a more "standard" format in terms of logs and addenda. However, the opinion that it was much more similar to an AWCY? article than a VKTM in expositional and conceptual terms led me to this "extreme" reinterpretation: an article purely focused on the anomaly in terms of what it is and what it does, allowing the message of social criticism (the '90s nostalgia sold in the media are empty vibes that erase or sugarcoat what that decade was really like, in addition to the usual fact that it's a purely US-centric vision) to be directed at the reader with the irony of the GoI.
Did it work? Did it not work? I honestly couldn't say, and the comments section, like the voting section, is a battlefield. I did my best, and that's what matters. (Note of 13/09/2025: I'm still listening to Vaporwave lel).
[SCP-8163] — Fragmenta

The most terribly painful topic of my Foundation career (including -IT). Oh Lord.
So. A clairvoyant's sphere breaks, people receive partial visions, people start dying following an interpretation of those images, disturbing ending. It was supposed to be a simple story based on the ambiguity of the sphere's nature, the visions, and the deaths: was it all intentional or simply a malfunction due to the damage? Did he cause the deaths, did he simply foresee them, or were they just coincidences and self-fulfilling prophecies? Who knows, and that's what I wanted to convey.
Now, I take responsibility as an author and can acknowledge my mistakes and how much I still have to learn, but (and I say this knowing how sensitive I am when I'm hurt) perhaps this article didn't deserve all the criticism and negativity it received, as well as the indifference.
But you know, this game is hard to play, but this is a lesson to learn: I'll improve as an author and next time I'll do a better job and live the contest experience with a healthier mindset!

Without a doubt, my best article (so far).
Written for Dumbcon, I explored and analyzed every narrative element I could use to push myself and improve myself.
It's a harrowing and painful story, and I tried to make it as realistic as possible. I won't deny that there were moments when I had to pause while writing to collect myself emotionally.
I'm extremely proud of the result, the ending, and the reactions it elicited from readers.

I feel so tired, so alone, so tired, so alone…
