SilverWind and I have been working on this for quite some time! Hope you all enjoy the read.
Many thanks to Crayne, Devereaux, DrMann, Athena_Grey, DocHatts, and Soulless for helping out during the initial and intermediate editing stages; and Cimmerian (idk if I spelled that right…), Cryogenchaos, Eskobar, and Dr_Leonard in chat during the final touch-ups.
Let me know if I forgot anyone. A lot of nice people gave helpful feedback. :3
Hm, perhaps it is my sleepiness, but I feel like I've seen this one already on the site as a successful mainlister, somehow. ..
Or perhaps it was just an idle daydream. Regardless, I remember enjoying it, though I feel the first addendum would have been a better ending than the second one.
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
I remember there being another "play on multiple meanings of 'foil'" entry before…
Yes, there absolutely was. I thought this was a rewrite of it while I was reading (I remember the other article having some problems).
So, with Juan's help, they could be the worst poet duo ever.
Or the best :P
It's certainly better than the original article, but I can't say I like it.There's not enough focus on SCP-2907, which means it grabs very little of my attention, and SCP-2097-2, which is apparently the real focus of the article, reminds me too much of SCP-2598 and Zyn's own Rain God skip.
You have that God that uses a cloud for advertisements. I think he refers to that one.
I imagine there was some appeal in the idea of her servant/lackey hovering over the heads of her supplicants, watching from (admittedly, not much) higher up.
Also, since this is getting off topic, if you'd like to discuss 2255 any further, it should take place in its corresponding discussion thread.
when he says lake of youth is he referring to SCP-006 or am i just dumb. and this +1
Fear the ponytail!
Ha. I forgot about 006. You're probably right, though.
Did you really name his prior friend "Johnny Cowboy"? Really?
Giving bearhugs to the unsuspecting since 1872.
Sorry, I know this is a big necropost, but as a spanish speaker I need to point out that no, isn't 'cowboy', but 'knight'.
Vaquero is cowboy.
Juan Caballero has been reincarnated, apparently.
(Just a coincidence. Or IS IT?)
I will agree with "A Random Day" post above, there is not enough focus on the anomaly of SCP-2097, and SCP-2097-02 didn't have enough personality (besides describing itself as related to a Mongolian deity) to hold my interest.
The texts described in the Containment Procedures are not well explained (is it to fake Juan's presence? Also, he could comment something on the Mongolian ones, since the entity apparently participated in their History). Also, to be true in character in my opinion, SCP-2097-02 should not only speak in poor English, but in poor English from the 1500s as taught by a Spanish.
It is just too random for my taste, sorry!
