(account deleted)Did anyone else notice the Coke advert during the 2009 Super Bowl XLIII? Where the insects steal the coke bottle, including a swarm of butterflies who work together to form a decoy image of a bottle. Did anyone else think of SCP-408 when they saw this?
Perhaps there are wild colonies of the same species and one of them has got work in the TV industry?

1. To be clear, I don't mind having an SCP be linked significantly to a particular in-universe character, it's more about Kondraki just grabbing a guy of not-insignificant authority and making him his assistant.

Is there a way to spread the word on this SCP without sounding like a overexcited fanboy? 'Cause I just know that's how I'd sound, because I like this SCP a lot and it's underrated so I know I'd try to shove it down others throats, and I don't feel like being suspended for longer than I've been a member. Plus, It'd probably stop people from reading it than encouraging it. Ah oh well, the things I must pay for my youth….

Write a tale about it, discuss it with the people in the IRC chatroom, draw some art with it as a subject, write a poem, mention that it's one of your favorites when asked. If you really like an SCP and feel like you're bursting with uncontrollable zeal over it, it's a better idea to put that energy into making a work of your own honoring it, than telling everyone else OMG IT'S AWESOME (because there's no guarantee that others will feel the same way about it). This SCP has been around for some time.
That said, I'm rather fond of it as well, seeing as it was pretty much the deciding reason that led me to join the site.
Also, there are a few other interesting butterfly SCPs out there that are pretty recent, including Mechanitis pyrotechnica, Mourning Cloak, and Avernus Vine. Happy reading!

I'm guessing SCP-408 has some sort of telepathy, and gave Dr. Saghai PTSD by showing him fucked up personal images or something.
if they can make any image they could make a memetic agent. And if they have been around long enough to know about SCP-682 they probably would have learned about memetic agents too.
