My entry for Cliché Con 2019. No chance that I'll actually win, but I thought it would be fun to enter anyways. I'm entering under the cliché anomaly "Spooky scary murder monster(s)" since I've always had a soft spot for monster SCPs - even if so few of them are done well - and they seem to have largely fallen out of favor.

EDIT 7/3/2021: Beforehand, I put an explanation for the anomaly's backstory here. I've regretted it ever since. If you're still looking for it, it's under the author commentary on my author page.

I thought this was a clever story, and I also have a soft spot for monsters. I like the idea of an imaginary monster made real, un-made, then re-made and determined to stay alive.

I didn't make the connection about the -1 being the one to rip off -2's arms and legs because of how protective -1 is of -2 in other contexts. As it's written now, it's little bit a mystery how -2 ended up so horribly mangled. But I like it the way it is.

You use this so much. And I totally understand why. Clinical tone is tough and that phrase just comes naturally when you're trying to keep it. However, it really bogs down the beginning of your SCP. I highly suggest giving the first few paragraphs a once-over and ironing out the repetition.

Otherwise, this is a rather interesting story. I can't help but wonder what the full extent might be but I'm also not sure I want to know, I rather like the mystery! Maybe I'll read your explanation dropdown up there but not right now. :P

Analysis indicates nearly all of SCP-3631's organs have been replaced in this fashion

Should the 3631 here be 3631-2?

The timeline is kind of unclear. It took me a long time (and reading the author's notes) to figure out that -1 was originally captured by itself, without -2. Another thing to help all connect the dots would be to find a way to put -2's age in somewhere or maybe mention that the accident happened when he was a youth. I spent a long time thinking -1 just needed a human for an important long term function like incubating eggs in him or something.

I'll be the first to admit that this article is a complete mess. It's on my todo list to clean this up - and possibly codify the backstory into a tale - once I've got some other projects out of the way.
