I was just wondering if anyone was keeping track of how many SCPs there are on this site. My estimate would be about 300-350. Part of me is rather proud to be a part of that.
I'd say far more than that.
Not sure for certain though.
SCP-500, the Panacea, is the 317th identified SCP (318 if we count Evolution's Child and the Pet Chair separately). Counting the Joke SCPs at the end, the total is about 350, so there's definitely more than that.
I just did a check, and I make it 438 completed entries on the scp-series page alone, that's not counting the incident reports/experiment logs.
God damn.
Thanks for checking. No doubt that was kind of a pain, but it's good to know.
Wasn't really a pain:
gary@sharlene:~/Desktop$ curl http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-series | grep 'scp-.*SCP-' | grep -v "ACCESS DENIED" | wc
% Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current
Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed
100 89635 0 89635 0 0 72948 0 ::— 0:00:01 ::— 100k
438 2432 26269
The first number on the last row is the line count, i.e. 438. (I double checked without the | wc bit, pasted into a text documents and got a line count).
Im making tales now, i don't have plans on posting them.
(General note, the discussion is about what number of SCP articles the site is up to now, not asking "what are you up to now". Also, the thread was last active in 2008. Please remember to check timestamps on threads!)
