A pleasure to meet you all and join you in this amazing group! I am Damon Asgard, I'm 19 and a college student living in California. Have been a big fan of creepy pastas for ages, which is what lead me to find this site in the first place. I am really excited to work with everyone here, get some advice and hopefully be an active member of this group!

Of course, I am still new to SCP(I've only been actively reading for about a month) so I'm just in the gathering information, advice, etc stage right now.

So right now, just reading guides, studying SCP's and Tales, and brewing a few ideas in the back of my head for later.

Welcome to the site, Damon Asgard! It's great to hear that you're interested in writing for the site. Remember, it is highly advised that you receive critiques on your drafts through the forums or through chat before posting them. I would recommend that you lurk for a while, and, read through the SCP articles (trust me, it's the best way to improve your skip writing skills) and have a read through the guides, in order to try and get a feeling of what the site is like. Additionally, feel free to stop by chat to speak with other members of the community. Glad to have you on the site!

Hi there!

Good on you for reading the guides. :) I'd also recommend reading through the pages about Object Classes and Security Clearance Levels to get a feel for how things run in the Foundation. The "Information" dropdown list at the top of the page is pretty handy.

If you're looking at tales, I recommend reading the In His Own Image series, since it's a great look into the psyche of a member of Foundation personnel. Or you can read standalone tales like Reality Check, which is slice-of-life and about a talking sword. The Top Rated Tales page is your friend. :3

Also, since you're interested in writing for the site, make sure to create a sandbox page for yourself. Any drafts you write up should be placed there and shown to the IRC chat and/or the drafts forums for feedback prior to a mainsite post.

The chat is a great place to hang out at and meet fellow Foundation personnel. You can get a feel for the real-time critique given there, and also toss around ideas with others. Furthermore, if you've got any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to PM me or another staff member.
