I maybe shouldn't have rushed the posting of this, but I was starting to tweak it obsessively, so I figured I should post now before I started messing it up. Plus I really wanted this slot before it was taken :p.

You know, at first I was like “oh, ok I’ve seen this trope before” with the whole “we never found people past such such year therefore the world must have ended”, but this doesn’t use it as a reveal. Takes it more as a starting point and plays it out from there, which is something we don’t see a lot of. Usually “the world is going to end” is the climax, so it’s refeeshing to see an exploration people dealing with an inevitable demise.

I think the intention is to never really say what it is beyond being very bad.

It's really refreshing to see a wiki article that focuses less on the apocalypse and more people dealing with its inevitability. The characters also felt very rounded out, even with how short the article was, and the interactions all felt genuine too.

I don't think I can really describe the type of beauty I find in this. It's melancholic while also not sad at all, just… accepting. They both know that they can't really do anything about it, and that's ok.
