I like this one, and the pictures are pretty damn cool. I think I'd like to hear how the clockwork and the fleshy bits interact, and if the infected can hear the clicking inside of them, and is there any physical benefits to it if it could be controlled. Also, what does a 100% conversion look and/or act like? Maybe where they found it could be good.
Why were all of the pictures removed?

how would this interact with SCP-500? I'm guessing it'd probably stop further clockworkization (IT'S A WORD, I SWEAR) but not fix the damage that's already been done?
I wonder about this as well. It pretty much cures everything else (including SCP-008) so my gut says that it would cure this, too.
I'm trying to show that this thing could be everywhere…i mean, think about how many people seem to just float through life, just walking by, or doing their job day in, day out. How many people do you know, without a doubt, don't have the virus?
This is probably my favorite of all the SCPs. Kudos.
I positively love this SCP, but… wouldn't it actually be pretty easy to detect using a standard metal detector?
Also, if it were particularly widespread, I'd think we'd be seeing more insects / birds / lizards / etc. around with visible signs.
Not trying to nitpick or discourage, just some thoughts that came to me on the subject.
You may be able to pick it up on a metal detector, but i think with it being made of carbon and such, it would probably not register in any serous way. Now, if some parts had already been replaced with metal components, then it would be very easy.
That is true…but then, sick animals typically withdraw and hide while they try to recover. Plus, there's no guarantee that a subject will survive the process, and while they are changing, they are very weak due to the pain and all the alterations, and make easy prey. The full gestation can take a while as well, so unless it's a very fast-acting strain, a insect may die before it shows any symptoms.
No problem, i like answering questions!
Would SCP-808 be able to control creatures that are fully converted, or are they more mechanical than electronic?
I'm thinking SCP-808 would not be able to control them…there's no real electrical system, just clockworks. Now, if you added something electronic into the mix, then she may be able to, but that's true of normal humans as well.
For some reason, I'm thinking that this and [[SCP-229]] would be inimical to each other's presence. SCP-217 has no electricity, and I'm envisioning wires getting stuck in clockwork.
What if, say, some sort of generator was attached to an infected individual, and 229 was introduced with 808 attempting to interact with it?
Please note that this is a horribly bad idea for reasons that seem rather obvious. I just figured I'd bring it up and see what happens.
I'd be interested to hear about the effects on the nervous systems of infected subjects. Clockwork doesn't have anything that could make up an animal nervous system, so medically they shouldn't be able to see, hear, etc., but as I understand the article their senses are intact.
Microscopic clockworks create a basic nervous system, with small timing gears, valves, belts and so forth. this is all very delicate, and it's easy to cause a lot of damage to the senses of advanced subjects with just a simple push. Also, the senses are very dulled down, with awareness and response times declining rapidly as infection progresses.
Still, a in-depth analysis would be interesting to add…
As (literal) creatures of habit they probably don't require a whole lot of sensory feedback anyway.
I kind of imagine that the "brain" is actually mostly in the form of one long clockwork Turing engine running through the spinal vertebrae, rather than the head itself, which mostly just collects and interprets sensory data.
The complexity is a issue too…removing what appears to be a gear that controls arm movement actually shuts down the ability to speak. Everything is so spread out and complex, any data takes a long time to work out, hence the ease of confusion and inability to adapt…

What does it mean? Did you mean O5? (Because I've found an "0-5"/O5 typo on another page and it got me thinking)
