This gets my upvote, not necessarily because I find the object itself that interesting, because it's not that far removed from "ye olde creepy mask what does things", which is pretty well-tread ground. What I did like was the level of detail in constructing the underlying story, and the general notion of some crazy group that fucks with the goddamn sun. I like the sort of ominous nature of what exactly "resurrecting our Radiant Father" entails, so I guess in a way my upvote is given in expectation that you'll bring this home in a satisfying manner.
I do have to say, I found the "routine human immolation tests" mention in the addendum document a little pointlessly grimdark, even for my tastes. Even at the Foundation, I don't imagine people are generally that flippant about burning people to death.
Otherwise, this was executed well, and I found myself entertained. Good work.
