I think you're looking for a word other than predestination.

I dunno, on the one hand, I like this enough for an upvote. It's interesting, I like the fivers, and I liked Molly's awareness of everything around her. On the other, it reads like a bog-standard Fifthist item (Smoke? check. Weird talking? Check. End of the world stuff? Check.), and it doesn't add much to the Fifthists as a group. Plus, the writing came across as more than a little wonky, and not in a "oh, this is intentionally off phrasing" kind of way. I'm kind of interested to see where this leads, but I'd suggest getting more eyes on it next time.

I dunno. "This secret passage happens to lead to a chamber of spooky cultists which will now aid me for some reason", it feels pretty contrived. Also, for someone as weird and reality-warping as your protagonist here, she doesn't really do a whole lot in this one. My mind might change I suppose as this progresses, but as of now this feels like a sort of bland tale with Fifthists shoehorned in.
