My running idea for an SCP is an entity that can only stand darkness, and burns when exposed to light. Entering another living creatures shadow “steals” it’s shadow and turns it into an SCP-XXXX-1. After a week, it loses physical form and becomes SCP-XXXX-2, which has the same properties, but cannot transform others.

For the record, adding in a story doesn't always guarantee that the draft or concept will be improved. It's one of a couple ways for improvement, but by no means the only way nor a way that always works.

SCP isn't monster of the week or just weird objects, it's a story in a weird format.

We have plenty of SCPs that are weird objects that do well solely because they're weird or unsettling or emotionally relatable/enjoyable in a way that no one has thought of before. It can definitely be done, but not super often.

Although interesting, this is too similar to SCP-017. I would try not to do anything related to a shadow killing/taking other shadows. I'd rather try something like: "Sentient shadow that isn't being cast by anything" or "A space where shadows are unable to be cast and some other weird stuff happens" or "An object that makes your shadow have a mind of its own".

Those are some shadow-related SCPs I'm sure haven't been done yet. I hope one of those concepts seems interesting to you. Good luck.

Davey, the effect of a creature can be similar as long as the story isn't. This person just needs to make sure their story is different than SCP-017.
