A place for my stuffheavily inspired by the movie "The Gate" and would have been a lot worse and more of a ripoff if not for Dr Yucatan
Firstly, how the hell does this only have one comment? Read the articles, people.
This edged juuuust into downvote territory for me. The idea of varying degrees of depersonalization through taking some weird pill, combined with the body horror (nice pic, by the way) is a solid one, and I liked this article in general concept.
There are some execution issues, though. I don't care for the containment; I'm not sure how much value the Foundation would get out of a general anti-knockoff drug awareness campaign. That would require a pretty big outlay of resources, since this is an international phenomenon, without more than an incidental benefit in containment. Also, the "SCP" initialed front company. I used to sort of brush this aside as a personal gripe, but the more I think about it the more I'm convinced that this is an incredibly stupid practice for an organization that is generally accepted to care at least somewhat about secrecy. This is going to start factoring into my voting.
I don't like the SCP-500 reference. There's not more than a tenuous connection (which is sort of even acknowledged in the denial) and therefore no real reason for it.
Finally, the interview strikes me as clutter. We're not really finding out anything new about the skip, and the flippant tone undercuts the only other potential source of impact it could have (a personal narrative adding an immediate emotional dimension to the otherwise clinical document).
The good news is that this strikes me as extremely improvable. With some tweaks and revisions this could be really good.
NOTHING EVER IMPRESSES YOU, DAD, GAWWWWWD!~!!!
I'm strongly considering removing the interview, actually.
Fun fact: the one in the picture isn't a dead body. It's a cake.
This… I… no. No. THIS CANNOT BE CAKE! CAKE! Nooooo…
*sobs helplessly
Just googled the image, and it IS cake
… Wonder how it tasted :D
Interesting concept described well. End of the interview is maybe a little lolFoundation, but my big question is, why Keter?
it is essentially a counterfeit medical substance problem, and anyone working for pharma will tell you that there are places on this planet where it's next to impossible to manage this problem.
Foundation's "normality enforcement" is global, and there are places where containing this is almost impossible.
one small problem with this SCP
"Analyses found no legitimate chemical components"
Is this saying that there were no chemicals inside the pill?
Does this pill contain another form of matter?
Because that would contradict this statement.
"analysis of the pills' contents show that each capsule is apparently filled with objects ground into powder and filled into capsules, including glass, quartz, plant matter, volcanic ash, sugar, bone meal, and owl pellets. "
Holy shit.
I was just reading that comic, it reminded me to check on this comment XD
Coincidence?
You're on to something shady and hidden with thie SPC
I'm stupid
