Author Commentary!

This is based on the life and work of an actual person who today is considered a brilliant engineer, but also a crazy-ass psuedoscientist. It was so weird, and his work was so odd, that I figured the guy deserved a decent SCP article, because let's face it, how many people who don't live near Homestead, Florida have heard of this guy?

Oh, this is the Coral Castle guy? Hell yes! Even better than Nikola Tesla. :D

I like the addition of the corpses to the milieu, I like the interview (I kind of figured that they would have each gone to one pole, but hearing it didn't decrease the impact), and I really like that the doctor brought back the hot dog.

Two things. First, I'd specify "Miami-Dade County, Florida", for professionality. Second, how the hell did the doctor understand the Latvian enough for them to transcribe it?

Added 'Florida' for the sake of professionalism. Also, it is rather round about, now that you mentioned it… might fix it later if more people object.

I'm not sure I cared that much for the random moment of spookiness in the interview, which seems kind of jarring (and not in a good way) when considered against the rest of the article.

Other than that, though, I liked the level of detail with which this was written, along with a proper dosage of weirdness that held my interest and overcame the tiredness of the "science that works when it shouldn't" thing that we see around here from time to time. Upvoted.

EDIT: Ugh. That title is awful. Please consider changing it to something less stupid.

I know it's awful, but I'm horrible at titles. Perhaps you have a suggestion?

Polar Opposites, Magnetic Curse, the Hotdog Machine… all titles I think would be more fitting, if only because the title makes this article seem more of a joke then it is. You've got my upvote though, loved the transcript.

Yeah, this one was pretty cool. One comment, though: why bother redacting his name, when I was able to search for 'Latvian sculptor 1887' and find it out?

It's a little process called "Tangential Learning". I redacted the name specifically so people would try and find it out, and educate themselves about the subject presented in this article. You've just proved that it works. :P

I really don't get the second apparition place in the story, but nobody else complained about that so maybe I'm just stupid. The rest of the article is pretty good, upvoted.
