I like it. Would it be possible to get a picture?
drop it into a metal box only big enough for it to fit, and not big enough for it to turn. hm hm hm….
Yeah, it's not amazing, and it's poorly written in places.
Experiment 0012: Observation is going well, we have managed to develop a system to record and analyze the shifts in the cube almost as quickly as they occur. No correlation between shifts and any world events found yet.
First, no experiment has been performed here. The bigger problem, though, is that it's written in the present tense, so I assume it's written as a direct report immediately after the 'experiment', and therefore the last sentence makes no sense whatsoever. Why is the researcher commenting on the connection between the cube and 'world events' if no connection has yet been discovered?
Experiment 0048: We observed a six segment alignment today on the 1st side. It was noted and passed without incident. Two hours later, a research assistant returned from the break room with news that a tsunami had occurred in the Indian Ocean and caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and extensive property damage. No correlation is currently known, but we will make note of it.
Here, as well. What prompted the researcher to connect those two events? If 'no correlation is currently known', then why is it being mentioned? My microwave broke down on the day of the Indian tsunami, I didn't note that connection in my diary. The researcher is basically saying "we have not yet discovered that these two events are linked, but we will discover that in the future."
Experiment 0172: A six segment alignment was recorded this morning on the 'local' side. As a safety precaution, Site ██ was evacuated. Two hours later, a containment breach occurred, but resulted in no loss of life due to the evacuation. Object determined to predict events, not cause them. 1st side designated as 'global'. Upgrade to Euclid status requested.
I don't understand. The conclusions drawn bear no relation to the events observed.
"The conclusions drawn bear no relation to the events observed."
I agree. There seems to be very little science being applied to this SCP. If its effects weren't so overwhelmingly dramatic, then you could get some experimentation done with it. SCPs are always more interesting when experiments can be run on them. 682 is one of the deadliest things under Foundation containment but they experiment on it all the time!
I don't get why you take issue with the Tsunami. The researcher’s are just covering their bases. For gods sake man, they work with things that could end the world, who knows what is linked to what. Other then that, I get where you are coming from, and can understand your issues.
Sorry to say that, but current version of the object is really worse than it was earlier. Too much unnecessary details, odd calculations and "████████". And, of course, some moments in text made me cry:
We ask that future team members with access to the chamber keep their hands clear of SCP-090.
I imagine: new team members suddenly break into 090 contaiment cell after the midnight just to grope or play with a Keter class object. How unprofessional. If that's so, they're kids, not Foundation staff.
████████ was eliminated and his/her assets seized by the facility at the time of acquisition.
Guess, "seized by Foundation"
"The request for a predictive supercomputer (████████) has been placed on hold indefinitely, so all data parsing is currently under jurisdiction of ████████ personal computer"
My 343, Foundation is too slow (or too greedy), to provide a supercomputer for a Keter. Sounds like 090 is not a Keter and just causes uncontrollable flatulence in exposed personnel with every object's realignment.
Downvoted, until all this weak places will be fixed.
I admit I don't recall what the old version was like, but the new version feels like a chaotic and uninteresting mess (and doesn't look like a Keter to me.)
I kinda liked the old version. But this new one is a muddled mess. It's unclear what it does, there's too much expunged, and the formatting and writing are poor. Plus, all the black boxes are the same length. That seems very odd.
This new version is confusing enough to earn my downvote.

Wasn't this thing sitting at zero just yesterday? How'd it get so much higher without anyone commenting favorably on the new version?
Page reverted as per agreement with bright.
Look, I'm going to come right out and say it, as the author of both versions of the article, the old one was not good. If people don't like the new one, that's one thing. But to say the old one was better than the new one? That's adding insult to injury. I could live with the page just being deleted, but I'm not going to stick around a site with my ancient schlock flapping around in the breeze.
I thank you for considering my rewrite.
Sorry you feel that way, but people obviously did feel that the new version was not an improvement. Even if you don't like the writing quality, the article is still well-regarded. Feel free to leave and not come back, if that's what you so choose, but you can always turn those efforts to a new SCP instead.
Giving bearhugs to the unsuspecting since 1872.
But to say the old one was better than the new one? That's adding insult to injury.
The old one is much better simply because it didn't redact half the page. Plus, you wrote the new version in a drastically less scientific tone. With way too many words. And unrealistic, unnecessary dialogue (no dialogue appears at all in the old version).
There are some egregiously dumb things in the old version (Indian ocean tsunami… sigh), but overall it gets the concept across better simply by being shorter and cleaner.
It may be true that you are now a better writer, but I find it strange that you never even asked why everyone thinks the old version is better. Very few writers improve by ignoring all feedback.
EDIT: Still downvoting this version for the egregiously dumb shit.
"Full item completion has been hypothesized to cause an unparalleled disaster to occur."
wait what? There's no basis for that.
Full item completion will probably make six pretty pictures, i see no reason to believe anything more would happen
