That last bit needs some [expletive redacted] to fix the tone.
I like this, it's quite interesting. Would a person suffering from an addiction that is not substance abuse based see anything? Like a card collector finding himself in a card shop, or a MMO player finding himself in some kind of gaming den?
As a side note, I came here to see if someone had put something ironic as 666.
Personally, I'm actually sorta glad this didn't turn out to be some Number of the Beast gimmick.
This sucks so much I don't want to even bother trying to rewrite it.
(Let's see if that starts the downward spiral!)
Sold me on a downvote. Is this actually one of far2's or one of his bringovers?
EDIT: Second one. Anyone know who the original author is?
This just seems…. Eh? It's a Tibetan artifact that was discovered while exploring a Native American legend, and if you're a current or prior drug user you hallucinate about some place where you've previously done drugs and/or an analog for said situation. And also maybe coffee counts as a drug.
There's no compulsion, no condemnation, no threat, no….. Interest. This just seems like an elaborate anomalous object, if even that.
The only reason I don't think this should be taken out of slot 666 is that I suspect people are going to start writing up jeudio-christain SCPs in an attempt to stick them in this slot as they watch it sink, and that, after that, this slot will be taken up by some devil thing. Ugh.
I've already got a lovely Lucifer SCP self-insert lined up for this slot.
What is with newbies killing old SCPs? God damn. I actually love this one. SCP-666 deserves something benign, not a devil cliche.
