I have a couple questions, if anyone can answer them:

If you affix an object to 104, and wait for 104 to move, will 104 have the object on it when it reappears?
If you affix 104 to a wall, will it move? If so, will it bring any of the wall with it?

No, it will just disappear and reappear, and not take the item with it. it doesn't really "move", just sort of "blips" from place to place, so i don't see it taking the wall or anything with it.

So what does SCP 104 DO after it touches a person? Just sit there? And can't it easily be defeated by moving every seven hours? It comes 1 foot closer every hour, so as long as you're not a heavy sleeper you can toss it/kick it/walk away and it'll teleport to the 7 foot distance.

It does nothing. It just touches you, and stays there until you move, in which case it starts following you. I need to do an edit as well, I think, as it appears I was unclear about the distances. If you move more than ten yards away, it will blip to within seven feet of you. If you are inside that ten yard radius, it will keep blipping one foot towards you every hour.

I guess the thing I was shooting for with this was paranoia. This thing will be with you forever, until you die or come damn close. Work, school, dates, anywhere, this thing will be with you. How do you explain that? It could start to work your nerves after a while.

This is one I tried hard on, but I feel I missed the mark. I wanted to make a Safe item that was still creepy and unsettling. If people think it’s a good idea, I’ll run an edit on it and see if I can’t make it a little more interesting.

Eventually it will pass through your system, and unless you keep the poo with SCP-104 in it around you at all times, it will blip back whole and undamaged.

What happens to 104 if you've smashed it, blasted it, whatever; while it's unimprinted? Would this effectively neutralize it?
If not, when imprinted, will it follow whole or in pieces?

What criteria must something meet in order to be imprinted? Could a flea be imprinted? What happens if a subject is imprinted, and then infected with SCP-217?

How does 104 react to imprinted subjects skydiving? Or in the vaccum of space?

1: If you destroy it while unimprinted, it would be more or less disabled. However, if you were to touch any of the shards, it would imprint on you. Then, if you moved too far away, it would blip back to you, whole and undamaged.

2: So far, it appears to only imprint on humans. No other mammals, not even higher apes, appear to trigger it, but testing is ongoing. If someone is imprinted, then infected with SCP-217, SCP-104 will continue to follow them until they are approximately 75% "converted" by SCP-217, at which point it will unimprint.

3: It still follows them, no matter what. they could be in a situation where SCP-104 is immediately destroyed the instant it appears, and it will just keep appearing, over and over again.

Does it imprint on the body or the spirit/soul?

I wonder what would happen if somebody tried to imprint it on Dr. Bright or Kain Pathos Crow…Or perhaps one of the human-looking-but-not SCPs.

It appears to be the physical body. Not a easy task, but if you were able to ditch your physical body, it would stay bonded to it while you went on to…whatever. A extreme example, but possible.

Also, considering it isn't harmful you really don't need to be killed/near-killed to release it.

As its workings or effects aren't understood yet, I think Euclid is the best choice for class. And as the imprinted SCP-104 follows someone around indefinitely, unimprinting is essential to keeping it contained. Unless you imprint it on someone and stick him/her in the cell with it.

Actually, I love how you're probably shot on sight if you've imprinted, under the guise of 'unimprinting'. Euphemism of the century.

Anyone found to be “imprinted” by SCP-104 must submit for “unimprinting”. Failure to do so within 24 hours of exposure will result in termination.

SCP-104 can only be “unimprinted” if the subject is killed or enters a near-death like state.

So either personnel accidentally having been imprinted on are put in what amounts to a coma or they're killed. With my delicate sensibilities, I'm choosing to believe the latter. ;)

It states that you need to *enter* a near-death state, not that you have to STAY in one. You could probably get put into a medically induced coma for a few days, your vitals next to nothing, brought back up (hopefully) and eventually recover. At least from the exposure to 104 that is.

I said nothing about personnel staying in the coma. It just seems to me that, unless said personnel is of value to the Foundation, terminating them would be the easiest way. Obviously, anyone of use will probably be put in a coma-like state and revived after SCP-104 has unimprinted.

Not enough to this, either. Could be a lot more important, as the idea has some interesting potential.
