Hi Dr Gears,
i'm curious:
1) Is it alive?
That is, is this a life form that eats victims or a machine that shreds people without gaining anything from it?
What would a mass spec analysis of a sample of it reveal? Is the isotopic ratio similar to that commonly found in metalic elements used by living things? Ie: Is the metal coming from the metal micronutrients (eg Iron from heme in the blood of its victims?)
Recommend using two armored D class personnel to obtain a sample: One to cut the sample off with bolt cutters, and the other to secure the sample if the first D class gets ensnared.
2) Are separated fragments would be able to grow if given victims?
Could a separated fish hook "eat" a mouse? would it grow more barbs?
What is the minimum sized amount of sample required to make a functioning ball of sharp?
If the amount is small enough, it could be weaponized - lob a small ball of sharp into an enemy base, wait until it eats all the personnel.
if both questions one and two are "Yes" it would be a very exciting development.
A third proposal is to run a sample of it through SCP-914 on either 1:1 or "Fine" setting, but I'm not sure if I'd get approval.
Best Regards,
thekit
