On a serious note, though, I found the description to be a bit confusing. I get that 180 steals a person's identity and then can "project" it on another host, but I'm a bit lost on just how this effect works in practice.
Yeah, this aspect was exceeding confusing to me too.
I'm lost on how the majority of SCP effects work in practice.
I think just clarifying who is "grafted to" and who has their identity stolen at the time when stealing occur would be a much needed improvement. At the moment, this is almost impossible to tell.
I think this is how it goes.
person one puts on the hat. there is a chance person one's identity will be "sucked" into the hat
the hat is put on person two or thing two. Thing two appears as person one wearing the hat to everyone else. Person One still looks the same, but no one can remember them.
I like the idea, but the article is marred by a few technical mistakes with spelling/grammar.
I thought of a really good practical joke involving getting Able to wear the hat, but upon reflection it could really only end in tears and bleeding.
That seems to be how most things end, with Able. Usually more of the bleeding than the tears.
Perhaps this item would be better off if cameras were immune to the effect? You'd figure that something which steals identity and interferes with object recognition wouldn't affect the physical realm.
I do think the writing could be a little more scientific, I like the idea but as it is written it is somewhat confusing. I was eventually able to figure it out, as they mentioned above, but it could probably be clearer.
Also, the section at the bottom about the high school student who eventually joined the foundation doesn't need to be in this article at all. It seems too self-insertish, even if it doesn't mention the person by name. It is also unrelated to the article. Stating that it was discovered by a high-school student that determined the effects and sought out the foundation is one thing, going on to say how he rose so high and is now known as 'blank' is entirely another.

Well, yeah, I think that's a problem of the original idea. Or are you saying the edit made accentuated this problem?
Overall, I'm not sure what to think about this one. It's got a sort of interesting concept, but I'm certainly not awed.
I'm confused as to how it changes hosts.
Person 1 wears it, is now the "host," and has his identity stolen.
Person 2 wears it, looks like Person 1.
Person 3 wears it.
Does Person 3 become the new host, or does Person 3 look like Person 1? If it's the latter, then what does determine the new host?
