SCP-4001 became my #1 favourite SCP after I discovered it today.
This tale became the 2nd best Tale I have ever read, surpassing The King Is Dead, SCP Foundation: The Movie & How 173 Got to Site-19 (Still doesn't surpass Incident 239-B - Clef Kondraki) in my top fives Tales.
For added feels, I listened to this iconic theme whilst reading. Let's just say that listening to Tears in Rain while reading a potential tear-inducing tale is kinda a bad idea.

Now that I re-read the tale I wonder if this library shouldn't have been a 001, because It has potential. Like, a lot. A lot of lots.
Thinking that are so not special that people in the past had their Foundation and their nuclear disaster Is creepy, but makes sense, from a certain PoV.

Unrelated to that, I couldn't help but notice some connections to SCP-1427. Given that the name of the species here is different than the one discussed in SCP-1427, I doubt the author intended for them to be related. However, between the general connections in terms of time period and also the idea of nuclear fallout, I can't help but headcannon some connection between the two.
Perhaps Homo nobilis is a translation of what they called themselves while Homo descensus is what we named them. I could just be reaching way too far here, but it's these small connections between unrelated things on the site that often elevate the reading experience for me.
