SCP-4102's anomalous nature did not manifest until 18██
This coincides with the arrest of notorious conman George C. Parker
It makes not a lick of sense to blackbox a date but then, as an aside, tell readers when a thing happen s anyways via high-profile incident anyone can look up in a manner of seconds. When info-sec falls apart this bad, verisimilitude crumbles, and I'm unable to remain invested in the story.
Having finished, things definitely take a turn for the interesting with -2, but unfortunately, there's far too much cruft here that makes this more of a grind than it needs to be. -1 is given an inordinate amount of detail and abilities for what it does, most of this can be done away with and pared down.
Why does it need to have super speed and manuverability when they can't document it disappearing? Can't it simply break line-of-sight and vanish? Why does it need to have magic powers of compulsion and attraction when it's already empathic, persuasive, and targeting vulnerable people?
Aside from that, the first interview acheives nothing. The story grinds to a halt so readers can be told, again, what -1 is capable of.
This has definitely got potential, but it needs work.
