Should this not be a Euclid?
Should this not be a Euclid?
Why? It doesn't hurt anyone, and there is little need for security to contain it. Its about as dangerous as the worlds greatest toth brush.
The World's greatest Tooth brush doesn't have a 12.5% chance to cause a severely painful death by rupturing every single one of your internal organs and turning your DNA into a garbled pile of mush.
Heck, I've even Seen Some Keter Classifications that are more safe than this.
This is definitely a Euclid, science couldn't explain why it contains the energy to rearrange an entire organisms DNA and existing protein structure. Plus the "Chances" mean it cannot be "Unerringly Predicted."
Even though it is non-sentient and immobile, if SCP-113 were to get out it could be very dangerous if used as a weapon, repetitive contact over approximately 30 seconds possesses a 56.487…% chance to outright kill the target, and the immense pain and trauma caused the neural pulse could easily keep them incapacitated for the duration of the torture.
(I recognized its been 5 years since the last comment, yet that doesn't change the fact that its potentially dangerous and random considering its given properties [since the edit], and yet it considered safe.)

That's not what Euclid means.
There's no reason for this not to be safe. We can just put it in a box and forget about it and nothing will happen. There's 0% chance of it breaking security on its own if we lock it up and have someone watch it.

More to the point, this applies to every single SCP on the site. That's why they're SCPs.
And… yeah. "Dangerous" doesn't mean "not Safe". "Safe" doesn't really mean "safe" literally, it means "easy to contain" (and therefore, to the Foundation, safe by comparison). A nuke is Safe; nukes are easy to contain. Relatively speaking, of course.
Class Safe doesn't mean "not dangerous", but "easy to contain". Afterall, if you put SCP-113 in a secure box and just forget about it, it won't cause harm.
On the other hand, Euclid means that if you again put it in a box and forget about it, you can't predict what will happen. That's why sentient SCPs are often Euclid - you can't easily predict what they'll do.
SCP-113 is a rock. It's predictable and it won't break free if you leave it alone. Therefore, it's safe.
A little confused as to why this is on the mass-edit pile.

If I have time tonight, I'll see if I can edit this one. My ideas:
1 - Make the process extraordinarily painful
2 - Have a decently high failure rate (say, fifteen percent?)
3 - Get rid of the guy/girl who borrows it frequently for personal use
I've edited and cleaned it up somewhat. I figure I could get a bit more vicious with the side effects if people would like, but I'm pretty happy with it now. Thoughts? Opinions?
And does anybody know where the original author is?
Honestly I don't like this version that much. Now it's more of a "stone that inflicts damage when you touch it" which has a side effect that it might also change your gender.
Are men so hard to find that we need to use this with that damn blue statue? Really?
the item emits a low-energy wave that travels through the body
…wave of what?
Note that there is a significant risk of [DATA EXPUNGED] after multiple exposures.
Wow! It's fucking nothing!
