Just wondering, now that 076-2 is sort of an anti-evil guy, shouldn't the containment protocols be adjusted a little?
Uh… yeah. I don't think Abel's even in his box anymore except when he's completely obliterated.
Okay, so that's every Tuesday and alternate Sundays, but ignoring that…
"Possible introduction of SCP-076-2 to SCP-682 is being considered."
This should perhaps be removed, in light of recent works on the subject.
I'm having trouble locating those works… Perhaps a clearer reference should be considered within the main page?
1) Please check the dates on posts - you're asking someone that hasn't posted anything in two+ years.
2) Cross experimentation on SCPs was rampant for a while. You couldn't swing half a cat without hitting something. I imagine that he was referring to various stories that have disappeared since.
Actually, there is a story where Able and 682 fight (Able quite enjoys it). But that "swing half a cat"… ugh.
It still bugs me that they refuse to accept a retcon of his name into "Abel" just…because. I've never seen a reason why it would be "Able" instead, and no one seemed to question it for some reason. So, poor spelling wins out in the end (is how I've always seen it). Ruins a potentially great character for me.
I allways thought that. By the way, why didn't they named abel? I'm kinda new
Did you mean 'Why didn't they name it Abel?' When you said "why didn't they named it Abel" You forgot "named" would be past tense and that doesn't make sense in this context you also forgot to put 'it' in which was poor grammar and you forgot to capitalise 'Able' which is a noun please correct these issues
Actually, they were introduced, and able conjured hundreds of weapons during that fight but eventually lost. I will find a link to the page I got this from.

*Accually - Incorrect spelling, forgot capital.
*Able - Able is a noun
Researcher Harvey, first of, you are replying to a comment made on 2014, on which is necropost.
Second, you should not critique the grammar of another user. Its rude.
Actually, you spelt actually wrong. Additionally, don't necropost.
~🌸~Flower Power~🌸~
Has anyone considered introducing it to SCP-343? Or SCP-173?
Is anyone else a bit bothered when they see his name spelled wrong?
Yeah, seriously. It's ABLE not ABEL. One is a guy from the Bible. The other one is a psycho murdering SCP.
You are a Great Person for pointing that out (No sarcasm)
People keep spelling it both ways.
I have no idea why…
Probably because people see it as a biblical reference. I mean, come on, Cain and Able?
We don't have "cane." That's something old people walk with.
Also, fucking christ is this a necropost.
You want a necropost? I'll give you a necropost.
Also, it really feels like it's turned into a defensive "IT'S ABLE BECAUSE WE TOTALLY MEANT TO NAME HIM THAT" kind of thing. Maybe that's the joke and I'm not getting it. Maybe I need to catch up on my sleep.
No, actually we DON'T want a necropost.
And you want to know why it's Able and not Abel? Because IT'S NOT A FUCKING BIBLICAL REFERENCE. You know what that "Abel" guy did? Got killed. That's it.
Well, you could consider this excerpt from the Mobile Task Force Omega-7 Incident Log
SCP-076-2 has however, shown that it has great knowledge of human anatomy (although in a highly violent context), military tactics of open warfare, metallurgy, and, strangely enough, the care of livestock.
Abel was a farmer of livestock. Why else would he know how to care for livestock?
Yeah, I agree with you. I do see how this could be a biblical reference. Abel is bitter because he was killed, and decided to become a killer. Cain, on the other hand, was sorry about killing Abel, and maybe the whole reason that Cain kills plants is because of a curse. After all, he was a plant farmer. And you know what else. God said nobody could hurt Cain. And we can't, can we?
I am a Christian he did more than that all though I am not going to go into it.
We also have God. SCP-343.

Has anyone noticed how 076 hates 073, whose name is "Cain"? There is a bible story in which a man named Cain kills his brother Abel, so maybe 076 is Abel's vengeful spirit, while 073 is Cain's guilty spirit. But i think I agree with DrClef that his name should be spelled Able, because he is ABLE of a lot of destruction.
Reverted edit. Seriously, Able's task force being Omega-7 and the fact he's wearing an exploding collar are hardly sensitive enough to merit blacking out.
Sorry. I was trying to be funny. I hope the rest of it succeeded.
[edit]never mind
When I read this, I was quickly reminded of Alucard from the Hellsing manga. Seemingly invincible, working for the organisation, and relishes a challenging fight… Also the description of 076-2's clothing sounds similar…
Sorry if this is off-topic or pointless, I'm new.
Common comparison, eh. Not sure that the guy you're talking about wore a lot of armour though.
But, at least you didn't out-and-out assume 076-2 to be a vampire.
Able reminds me more of Gilgamesh from Fate. Physically, anyway, and its interest in the Epic of Gilgamesh sure doesn't help.
Considering Able's Sumerian origins and his tendency toward beating the fuck out of anything that moves, if Able isn't Gilgamesh then Gilgamesh is probably a sort of folk hero for Able.
There are some interesting parallel's between Gilgamesh and Able. I wonder if Able would react similarily if the Foundation could find someone to fight Able for a few days without dying.
EDIT: You know, that could be Able's intention when he formed Pandora's Box: he's attempting to recreate key sections of the Epic. His efforts towards training Pandora's Box could be a sign that he doesn't believe there's an appropriate Enkidu out there, so he's attempting to create one himself.
So, if SCP-076 (I am not touching any of his nicknames with a 30 foot long pole) was trying to use Omega-7 to recreate pandora's box, that would mean he was using the foundation to get what he wants. That doesn't make sense, why turn on the SCP foundation, he could keep using the foundation as long as SCP-076 doesn't start killing the wrong target.
I LOVE YOU FOREVER.
BEST APRIL FOOL'S - EVAR.
It's too bad it didn't last. Some Iris/Elba slashfics would have been marvelous.
Just for kicks, I ran Able through a Mary Sue litmus test site. He scored a 42 (plus or minus five), putting him squarely in the realm of mid-level Suedom. I don't know what value this information has, except maybe as a quantifiable measure of the Able Line.
