Tentacles, man. I actually did it. Thanks to Djoric for aiming me in this direction. A fair amount of this was crafted from feedback given by Randomini, MrCarbon, bluesoul, thedeadlymoose, Anborough, Slate, Pemander, and otherpeoplebutthislistisgettinglong.

You know what's fun? This is a GOI skip. Most people haven't gotten it in the first read.
SCP-1569 was designed and bred by the folks at the Shark Punching Center! The "fist superimposing a sunburst" is their logo! Also the thing punches other things, and hates sharks. Or at least the operator did. Who knows how this particular shrimp and operator ended up in the SCP reality.
I am really, really done with the whole Shark Punching Center thing. It ceased being funny about ten SPC-themed articles ago.
Except this article is not funny, and was not meant to be funny, and was not trying to be funny. And this is a good thing.
Well, you're right about the "not being funny" part, that's for sure. If it's trying to play the SPC thing completely straight, then it's a completely inane exercise in formally adapting a site in-joke into an article. I happen to disagree about that being a good thing.
While people have the right to vote under whatever they feel it's good and bad in an article, I think downvoting an orthewise good article for having a rather harmless reference to an old gag is just a way to show that we are trying to impose our particular opinion over an article and its Author's vision of the skip. This is not, in any way, a complain towards anybody's standards and critique, but a way to point something I consider slightly pityful. I've probably done it myself before and being or not aware of it.

It's not just a reference. The entire article is built around the Shark Punching Center being an actual thing that we're supposed to take seriously. Which is completely ridiculous.
SPC-related crap makes me that much more likely to downvote an article. The fact that I went with neutral should tell you what I thought of it, minus the shark stuff. Honestly, it's pretty great as-is and didn't need to have the unfunny-or-maybe-it's-no-longer-supposed-to-be-funny-and-actually-it's-an-alternate-universe-I-don't-know thing that is the SPC shoehorned in.
The description of 1569-1's internals is a little confusing. There's a good deal of repetition that could be taken out, not to mention the storage organ can't be identical to the one in 1569 unless it's been sized down; don't want to leave something like that up to assumption.
I recommend starting addendum 02 off with the D class entering the carapace. The way it's structured made me question whether he was in there. And I'd also say the last note about what happened to him, beyond administration of amnestics, is superfluous.
But other than that, this is kind of a neat idea. One part Giant Animal, one part cute, one part Builder Bear. All Shark Punching CenterWait, this is actually from the Shark Punching Center? I'm not sure how to feel about that, being the only person on the site who still thinks the SPC is funny.
I upvoted this before I checked the comments and even though I hate the SPC there's no way I'm going to change my vote because of that.
I do feel the whole SPC things detracts a lot from any article though, it's never going to secure upvotes but will almost definitely secure at least a few downvotes.

This left me wondering who that guy might be, from some sort of underwater civilization that can use biological vehicles, that blew my mind with all unanswered possibilities.
Then i come here and it's just Shark Punching Center.
Glad that the article itself is good enough to stand on it's own if this SPC garbage gets removed one day.

I read this last night and didn't really like it enough to upvote, but I think I've now changed my mind. I only really have two substantial criticisms; first, the whole SPC thing. It's not explicitly mentioned in the article, only here in the discussion, so that's not too bad, but it still irks me. I think this would be a lot more interesting if it were just some vessel of inexplicable origin, instead of having a clear purpose. Secondly, and this is more superficial, the containment procedures are really short. I mean, bulking them out any further would just be padding for the sake of padding, but it still seems like too little. Maybe add a bit about cleaning procedures? Overall, though, I like this, so +1.

That's a guild in Magic: the Gathering and that really distracted me from the article. xD
That's exactly what I thought of too. The main reason I upvoted was that I chose to think that the symbol was the Boros rather than the SPC, and the thought that the Legion had some sort of weird shrimp-soldiers hidden away somewhere cracked me up.

I upvoted before I reached the comments. It was just so insane… a shrimp vehicle. I liked the touch on saving the D-Class for re-use in further experiments.
I liked the SPC reference, personally. I'm not sure if it was the driving force behind this or not, but I think anyone who downvotes just for that is being dense.
