If the Doom Slayer (or the Doom Marine, whatever) from the Doom series would be contained by the Foundation, what kind of Special Containment Procedures would the Foundation take to contain Doomguy?
And who'll win, SCP-682 or Doomguy?

Yeah, Doom Slayer is extremely strong, but I suspect the battle would end in a stalemate, or just wouldn't end at all. Doom Slayer fought demons without pause for millions of years and 692 just straight up can't die.
If you're REALLY stretching it, then the Crucible may be the only weapon to defeat him, as only Titans can be destroyed by stabbing them with it and keeping it in them. Now, 682 probably isn't a Titan, mind you, but it may be the only viable option. Even if Slayer has the BFG and Unmayker, 682 would just adapt and fire it back at him. (Though it would be really cool to see him shove the BFG in his mouth and fire just like he did to the spider mastermind in doom 2016 lmao)
Now, I ask the more fair battle: Who would win? SCP-096 or The Doom Slayer? That seems like a much more fair battle, no?
it's 2021 now. And while we were clueless in 2018, the solution arrived the last year. Call Korone.
Make him a personnel and give him a task of updating Impse to every ports (SNES, Genesis, etc.) and sequels of Doom, including fan mod (just to be safe). That should do it.
That wouldn't really work too well.
Probably similar to the way that the demons did. Keep in mind that he only broke out because of the UAC fucking up.
682 would win. Conventional weaponry and plasma are the only strings to Doomguys bow, and I doubt a chainsaw helps much either. That won't do it.
Even when empowered by The Seraphim? I mean he killed a Titan-sized Demon and I don't think 682 was powerful than that giant demon. If Doomguy kills it, what about 682?
682's gimmick is that it can't be destroyed via conventional means.
Or unconventional means, for that matter.
Seraphim probably wouldn't help much. Per testing logs 682 is immune to God (343). Presumably, divinely-derived powers wouldn't "see" it either.
So if 682 would replace the Doomguy in all DOOM series, would he kill all of the Demons including the bosses? How long would he be able to do that and how much collateral damage would he do to Hell.
Hmm……
Well. There's a chance that those hellspawns won't trigger 682's hate like humanity do. In that case, 682 would only fight back whatever attack it first then wander around, doing whatever it would naturally do in such environment.
What would 682 do in hell? Nap? Eat demons? Shriek mindlessly into the abyss? Somehow teleport back to Site-19?
Somehow teleport back to Site-19?
It always appears to find a way, especially after crawling out of SCP-1437.1
I don't exactly think 343 is a god, more a reality bender with a god complex.
But with the log, I guess even a reality bender cant kill it.
As for oblivion? Delay that, we have more work to do.
The "hell" and "demons" of Doom aren't canonically the actual bible vacation spot either. Just an alternate dimension that looks and acts close enough that the name is useful.
Plus: If a reality-bender (of sufficient power) thinks they are God, then they are God.
Depending on mechanics of their ability, they may retroactively always have been God. Becoming the objectively true original creator of the universe, starting five seconds ago when they decided so.
But god would be able to destroy 682 should it be his creation.
Yes?
As for oblivion? Delay that, we have more work to do.
He might try to destroy it but fail.
He might understand something about 682 that the Foundation don't, and thus won't destroy it.
He might does something else to neutralize it, or make a long-term containment procedure. He might pacify it.
Not to mention that if 682 is his creation, that 682 might be completely different entity altogether than thus he won't destroy it.
In short, who know?
I defer to the great theological scholar, H. Simpson:
"Can God nuke a burrito so hot even He can't eat it?"
At the level of deity, near deity, and absolute forces (like a lizard defined as unkillable); common sense breaks down HARD.
It's really all down to semantics. Does "omnipotent" mean "able to do anything" or "able to do anything that is possible"? Does making 682 never have existed count as "destroying" it? If God or god-like thing destroys 682 utterly and beyond question for any definition of "destroy" you care to use; but then 682 comes back. Does that count?
Well as seen in Doom Eternal Doomguy doesn't need to destroy or even kill to defeat something, so assuming 682's energy can be absorbed by the crucible Doomguy could just stab 682 with the crucible and snap the handle off thus locking 682 into a practically permanent state of having no energy like he did to the Icon of Sin.
Knowing 682 the lizard would probably evolve a chitinus layer around the blade and shed said layer freeing itself so Doomguy wouldn't defeat 682 forever but for quite a while.
I always headcanoned that doomguy was a tough marine, but not indestructible. He can use demon soul orbs and such because he's physically been to hell himself, but all the times he gets killed just don't count - that's part of the gameplay but not the story.
If that's the case, the Foundation would probably end up neutralizing him by blowing up the building he's in or carpet bombing the whole neighborhood or whatever. It's hard to believe the demons never think of trying anything like that. It wouldn't be hard (by Foumdation standards) to bomb him with sedatives then encase him in lead or something. As soon as he runs into a door that uses a password instead of a keycard or giant red button, he's boned anyway.
Maybe, though, doomguy survives so much because divine intervention is on his side. That's why there's so much guns and ammunition and chainsaws on the mars colony and and so many medical supplies in hell. Or maybe doomguy's existence is itself his own personal torment - he's a prisoner the whole time, hell gives him just enough supplies and sense of victory to keep him moving through an eternal cycle of rage and agony. Maybe the eternal rage and agony thing is true, but he's such a badass that that's his heaven. In any of those scenarios, no procedures will help. Every single Foundation personnel gets painstakingly shot/beaten/mauled/blown up one by one.
I have played way too much Doom in my life or maybe just enough
Ahhh…
Would he be a Keter or Euclid Class though?
If that's the case, the Foundation would probably end up neutralizing him by blowing up the building he's in or carpet bombing the whole neighborhood or whatever. It's hard to believe the demons never think of trying anything like that.
That's exactly what the demons did to the Doomslayer, though:
''Yet as the mighty Titan fell and dread engulfed the armies of Doom, the demon priests of the Blood Temples laid a trap to capture this scourge of Hell. Insatiable, even by the vanquishing of the Great One, the Hell Walker sought prey in the tombs of the Blood Keep. And blinded by his fervor, the lure drew him in. The priests brought down the temple upon the Doom Slayer, and in his defeat entombed him in the cursed sarcophagus.''
Don't know about the Classic Doomguy though.
Are we talking Classic Doomguy or the Doomslayer?
There's enough of a powerscale difference between the two that this needs to be specified, IMO.
HHAHHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAH!!!!!
Why are you laughing I'm serious
Well because of the accuracy of your post. I find it funny haha.
I'm so stupid, why haven't I thought of that.
You're not dumb. No one pointed out the connection before. Quit knocking yourself. Just grab a weapon and rip and tear until the work is done, yeah?
rip and tear until the work is done
I want to get one of those big inspirational cursive wall stickers that says this
Oh my god I can't believe you actually did it
This is seriously going on my wall
You're confusing him with SCP-777-J
Doomguy and 682 both have narrative inevitability. The story is never about him losing/dying (those are your fault and get retconned), it's about him just fucking slaughtering all the demons. Using Doomslayer as a reference point, sure, he's been contained by demons at the start and UAC accidentally release him when they also accidentally unleash hell, but he does get out, and his narrative of being a badasss gets even stronger. Maybe he's contained/knocked out at the end (hard to say), but that's only true until the next game comes out.
(I kinda think the 682 mathcup depends on whether or not 682 is considered a demon in this scenario. If yes, Doomguy might find some really gross way to kill her. If not, hell, he might get a mission from her after everyone else is dead.)
So if you're keeping him contained at a Site (whether it be in a sarcophagus, at the bottom of a shaft, or recruiting him into a combat MTF), it's really just a matter of time until the Site gets overrun by demons, killing everyone else there, and he gets out to kill them. There's plenty of demon/hell/extradimensional-based SCPs that the Foundation might be exploiting (edit: SCP-2336, SCP-3667, SCP-2791, SCP-738, SCP-1844) or that could breach for that to happen.
That would be cool if he became a combat MTF
I get the feeling that he'd be horrible at teamwork, though.
MTF-999 Codename "Literally Just Doomguy" was dispatched to go stop a containment breach at Site-19, and while the containment breach was stopped, we did not tell him to contain any of the SCPs. Everyone at Site-19 is dead. Goddamnit Doomguy
Oh right, that.
''Doomguy, you're supposed to put the things back into the cages, not tear their spines out. We have this conversation every breach.''
"For the last time, I rip and tear, not secure and contain."
Tbth, I think he's completely nonverbal. If he's human, or ever was, he's probably got some sort of mental condition that's rendered him mute. The silent violence makes for fun gameplay but he's probably a very broken, very scary person.
So he'd just respond to scolding with a grunt while seeking something that 1) threatens human existence and 2) can be destroyed via his brand of violence.
Unless matched up with equally violent broken people (looking at you, Hank Wimbledon), he'd be a literal nightmare to work with. He's like a slightly more containable nuke.
There are some deeply thought-out and surprisingly compelling fan theories out there that Doomguy, Master Chief, and Link are all the same guy. Either literally or in a spiritual/reincarnation/multiverse doppelganger sense.
All three are (usually) non-verbal heroes that show up when there is an existential threat to life as we know it, make use of whatever weapons and tools are present in the environment, and heavily favor green outfits.
It makes for a really badass yet sad meta-story. The hero who always triumphs over evil, knowing that he will soon be thrust into the next battle, and the next, and the next. The accumulated combat trauma robbing him of the ability to connect to normal people, till he eventually just stops talking altogether.
I like to think of Master Chief as the son of Doomguy, with Samus Aran being the mom =]
In universe, he's a kid that got kidnapped by a descendant organization of the CIA.
All fictional characters are the same and it's all Gilgamesh fanfic, change my mind.
Sorry to double post, but one idea I've been playing with in my head is Heroic Damnation. Basically, some sort of villain sins beyond redemption; their punishment is eternity as a doomed hero, forever defending the same people they once subjugated, forever failing in this task. I could see DOOMGUY meeting such criteria.
"Santa's Slay" starring WWE wrestler Goldberg handles that idea well, surprisingly enough.
WWE movies occasionally have a surprising degree of depth.
Since we're talking about WWE Movies anyway, who wants to see John Cena as the Doom Marine? XD
EDIT: That would be cool. The Demons wouldn't see him anyway.
No, no. Doomguy married Samus, and had baby Masterchief, who then proceeded to create a pet for himself at a young age, which eventually became 682.
I think that maybe just keeping Doomguy around as a vague threat would be enough to keep most sentient SCPs from misbehaving. I don't care what you are, a giant man with a shotgun and a chainsaw that's strong enough to rip people apart with his bare hands is going to be terrifying. Even as a reality bender I wouldn't want to mess with him, since he could probably find some way to find reality it's self, kill it, and become a reality bender just for the sake of murdering me before I can erase him.
SCP-6666
Class: Keter
Special containment procedures: THE MUTHUFUCKIN' DOOOOOOMGUUUY is to be contained in a dimension where he can kill things for, if not all eternity, at least a while. If he gets out, transport him to a different one, quickly, or the rage of hell will descend upon you.
Description: SCP-6666 is an entity that is solely driven by hate and a desire for the destruction of demons. While not the best problem-solver, the Unchained Predator more than makes up for it by use of pure destructive force. The Walker of Hell is many times stronger, faster, and more durable than normal humans. Additionally, from seemingly nowhere, SCP-6666 can pull out a variety of weapons, ranging from pistols to shotguns to rocket launchers to SCP-6666-1, the Big Fucking Gun 9000. This items pure awesomeness has made it difficult to study, but a scientific consensus has been established that it is "fucking badass" and "kills shit like a motherfucker."
Addendum: the DOOOOOOOOOOOOMslayer is the sole member of MTF Tau-666 "Literally Just Doomguy,1" an MTF that focuses on the complete annihilation of demonic threats. SCP-6666 can be pulled out of whatever dimension he's in at any time to counter whatever demonic threat threatens the foundation. God have mercy on their damned souls; The Doom Marine will not.
This has been an official Lucky Co. post
This reminds me a of a thread from years ago, SCPs for cross-overs that could never fly on the main list.
Best entry was a mash-up of 682 with Bowser. Had an interview where one "Dr. M" got taunted with that one breach where the reptile…let's say "assaulted" the Italian doctor's fiancée.
I think I'll try to find that thread sometime soon. May be time to bring it back.
PROJECT Crossover!?
They made it a hub?
…I think I need to go lay down.
Lad. It's been a thing for years. Quit acting surprised.
I went walkabout from the wiki for most of the past decade. And was an increasingly sporadic reader for years before the cut-off.
There is a lot of common knowledge I haven't caught up on yet.
Before I checked out, that thread I mentioned was a thing specifically because of the general impression that crossovers, even as bit of joke, would never get traction as actual wiki posts.
So I am honestly quite surprised, pleasantly so, to see that the idea got enough traction to become a fixture.
Threat ID: KTE-1993-Black- "DoomSlayer"
Authorized Response Level: 5 (Immediate Threat)
Description: "DoomSlayer" is a humanoid with superhuman abilities of level 6. The KTE can only feel anger, and apparently can only alleviate it by killing everything that can cause minimal damage. The KTE has an extradimensional backpack in which he can put (as far as can be seen) dozens of weapons and ammunition.
Rules of Engagement: It gives me a lot of lazy to investigate and then translate it into English, someone else write this.
History: Apparently, the KTE came to this reality when the Sons of the Scarlet King tried to invoke an unknown entity. When the GOC arrived, all the members of that sect were dead, several limbs had been torn off and then beaten with their own limb. Since then, massacres against groups of the Sons of the Scarlet King have been investigated.
Beaten with their own limb.
It sounds like an Angry Marine instead of Doomguy himself XD
Who do you think was the donor for the Angry Marines' geneseed?
I want to see a GoI of this, in the format of The Serpent Hand's.
It's those guys who kept on complaining about Matt Ward…and Doomguy.
