Is there a reason why "Dogs of war" caused you to downvote?
In all seriousness, I didn't downvote based strictly on the title, although it's corny and makes me suspect that you started with the title and wrote something to justify it. I downvoted based on a mix of issues with the article (there's too many random elements for a cohesive narrative) and my own personal tastes when it comes to WWI stuff.
I actually came up with the title last minute. Can you elaborate on what you mean by random elements?
Can you elaborate on what you mean by random elements?
Well, for starters, why the hell is this thing in Tennessee? Seems an anomalous WWI battlefield would actually be where WWI occurred, unless there's a reason it isn't, which isn't given in the article.
Why dogs? I mean, I can think of narrative reasons to do so (though I don't necessarily agree with said reasons), but why in the story does this happen? And then it's actually humans too at the end, which undermines any internal consistency this may have had.
You're using some powerful imagery (at least to me), and from my standpoint, it's not amounting to anything more than "well here's some stuff that's happening for some reason".
On a side note. I changed the name.
I looked up battles, and dogs were used as guards and message transport during WWI, and were indeed used in France. It being in Tennessee is part of the anomaly, because it is not normal.
Come on, I already told you to space those paragraphs out. >:I
I'm still not seeing what's supposed to be happening here, other than a perpetual WWI battlefield. No vote.
Spaced the paragraphs out. If this goes negative, I'm retracting it and adding more connections with a story.
Didn't quite get what was going on, but I still like this for being so darn weird.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
Seemed like some things were blocked out just to be blocked out. No vote yet.
I discussed with others quite a bit on blocking things out. Blocking out the amount of years was for a shock factor, and so was the corpse of SCP-1652-2. It is to give your mind a bit more to work with. It could be anywhere from 10 to 99 years of decomposition with SCP-1652-1. Either way, if you think about it, neither one is very pleasant.
I have no idea why this is happening. As far as I can tell it's a semi-random collection of ideas. I think there's a story somewhere in here, but it's impossible for me to find. The effects and concept don't make up for this. Am I missing something? I mean, it seems like there's something more here, but I'm unsure what, exactly, it is.
Downvote, because I want to see this improved.
If you wouldn't mind, might you upload your files locally? The first image appears to be broken and the second and third are hosted off-site, which they probably shouldn't be IIRC.
The first image is linked directly from this site, so I'm not sure why it's broken, unless it was removed from the visual records. Can you explain how to store the other two images locally? I'll fix them as soon as I'm not on mobile.
Edit: Looked at the first image and it's working. Nothing seems to be wrong with it.
The whole thing is a little too random for me. For example, why only dogs? I mean, there would have to be a whole lot more people than dogs on a WWI battlefield. It just seems a bit random that this field is spitting out dogs from a WWI battlefield, especially ones that seem happy to return to the batttlefield.
Also, why is this Euclid? It doesn't seem like it harms anybody; it just produces things that were already harmed.
No vote for now.
The dogs were part of the anomaly. It WAS Safe until an actual person came out of it, which meant they need to revise how they treat the thing.
