So I've lived in Ruralsville all my life but I recently moved to a city and now I miss the stars. It's all very sad and sweet.

Short and to the point. I like it. Wish there could be more but I can see why there isn't.
+1 good show.
God damn I love 'wonder of the cosmos' stuff. It's short and sweet and I like it very much.
Ain't nothing like a bit of Pangloss to make things seem brighter.
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
I am a little puzzled by one thing - you state that the doorways lead to 100-cubic-meter volumes of "outer space", then say that they "freely mix atmosphere with Earth". One of the distinguishing marks of space, however, is its notable lack of atmosphere of any sort.
Are the instances in vacuum, or is there breathable air inside - so far?
The doors lead to the enclosed areas, which are air-tight to the surrounding space and contain atmosphere which can freely pass through the door.

Yes, the idea is clear and understandable, at least to me, but I have to admit that it can by quite ambiguous on the first read, until you get to the finish. I, too, had the first impression that "volumes of outer space" refers to actual vacuum delimited by some arbitrary barrier. Maybe it should be "volumes IN outer space"?
Anyway, +1

That's some gooooood editin'.

I feel like you could have done something a little more interesting with this. You have all the building blocks here but do nothing with them.
I feel the same. It almost feels unfinished to me. No vote for now.
Thirding (with a downvote). It's a nice thought, but nothing more than that, and certainly not of the caliber I've come to expect from Pangloss.

Fourth, though I'm refraining from a downvote since I like the reference to Heimdall and I don't dislike what's here. I don't even think it needs much more, but it's just a little on the thin side for me to upvote.
I respectfully disagree. This is weird enough for the Foundation to contain, simply because it would show people that there's more to the world than they imagine - which can lead them into investigating ideas that do turn out very badly.
Not every SCP has to involve XK-class End-of-World scenarios. Sometimes they're just something wonderfully strange and bizarre, like a door that used to lead to a closet but now suddenly leads to a transparent observation lounge in deep space.
None of those are actual criticisms that I had. My complaint isn't that it's not weird enough, it's that there's not much more to the article than "door to a place where you can look at some stars". I desire more narrative. That doesn't mean "tack on a bunch of weird shit plz". At all.
And I'm vaguely annoyed that you're characterizing my comments as "it's not dangerous enough lol". If you'd like to "respectfully disagree" with me, please read what I actually wrote.
I agree with these young fellows. Could have easily been presented with a little bit more shabang. I'm just left hanging here with a little bit of interest and no punch to quench it.
When I finished writing, I did ask around looking to see where to expand but I'd said all I wanted to say and honestly couldn't think of anything that wasn't filler or wouldn't distract from the thing of it.

Mobile Task Force Pi-4 (aka "Stellar Constellation Prize")
In the interest of the upcoming MTF cleanup, I should mention that "usable" and "cool" names are fine, but "clever" ones make far less sense, which is why "They're on our side, sir!" is being renamed.
Whenever you come up with a MTF nickname, ask yourself if you can insert said name into the following sentences:
"Call the [insert name], we're going to need backup."
"The [insert name] came in and handled it already."
"This looks like a job for the [insert name]."
If it doesn't fit… you might want to consider something that's more conversationally usable.
Also, that is a really pathetic looking starfield. You should come find me on IRC, I could make you a better one in 15 minutes.
'Stargazers' comes to mind.

Yes, yes! A thousand times yes!
I <3 Pangloss, it makes the foundation universe less darky and terrifying to make it more beautifuly and magical :3
I think random doors that lead to the vacuum of space appearing in the middle of populated areas would be Very far from "Safe," especially since the Foundation might not find them immediately to slap an airlock on them. This is feels very unfinished and rather naive to me. Basically, it just reads as "space is pretty" to me.
The 'room' is pretty much safe, it has atmosphere and won't kill you. The foundation is slapping airlocks on them because the foundation is made of paranoia (for good reason). And anyways, Paingloss is _supposed_ to be a bit naive.
All seven continents? With higher chances of appearing more dense urban environments? Is there a big city in Antarctica that I'm forgetting about? Did I miss something?
Oh, +1, love the idea.
Well, a low probability doesn't eliminate the possibility.
