It's been what? Like 3 months or so? Well… hopefully this will be worth the wait. Season 2 of End of Death HERE WE COME!

Also, cool trivia thing, if you convert each digit of 4514 to a letter based off of its position in the alphabet, you'd get 4 = D, 5 = E, 1 = A, 4 = D. So really this is SCP-DEAD. :P

I'd like to thank all my critiquers: UraniumEmpire, DrChandra, Veieidaheimer, Croquembouche, Othellothecat, A Random Day, Trennderdios, and AnnRKiss.

Also the code for that little HTML collapsible is stolen from Kalinin's SCP-2888, so thanks for that!

Update: ok I ended up scrapping kal's code for a sexier version Croquembouche wrote, so thanks to both of you for the idea and implementation respectively.

Here's to the fear of forever. This is just the beginning, and the near is not nigh.

This is pretty slick - at first the reader suspects that there's some kind of cognitohazard in play affecting the Foundation in-universe, and then the message at the end (which neatly manages to avoid being an explanatory note thanks to its in-universe context) provides a nice twist ending that completely recontextualizes the piece. A good example of crosslinking and hopefully a sign of things to come.

Yeah, it's somewhat baffling and a complete blindside if you're not already familiar with omega-K, but is also a nice introduction to the canon… the weirdness builds gradually but at a nice pace, e.g. with the age (and then seniority) of the test subjects climbing ever higher…

I like this but I ruined the reveal for myself before reading the whole thing because of that flashing text. Beyond the fact that it's super annoying, I was drawn to click it before reading the rest of the article and then saw the link to the end of death thing, so I knew what was going on from the get go. Obviously not your fault, but I really dislike that flashing text.

Beyond that though, this is a pretty clever entry into the end of death series. I found some of the wording in the O5 note to be a little awkward (and fairly informal), but I did like the "it's not our job to change it back line". Overall, +1 from me.

Wonderfully executed twist and lead-in. End of Death was my favorite out of the Doomsday contest, and this has me pretty hyped for more.

I was originally going to downvote due to the similarity to the shard of glass that kills you, but the ending puts this SCP in a context that it can function incredibly well in.

I actually talked to CWW shortly after this went up when they pointed out the similarities as well. I uh… kind of forgot that other piece had existed when I wrote this, but luckily the twists are different enough, even if the core concept shares similarities.
