There was one XXXX left. But now it's gone c:
Thanks once again.
But hold up while I try to make the image work. >:c
Thanks to those who looked at this in chat!
The image source… It's all over the Internet. But I think it's from here? I can't really verify it.
And sorry Jelly Roll, I have no regrets
The image that's used in this article comes from here and is cc-compliant with the SCP wiki's license (CC BY-SA 3.0).
Mm Mm Good
There are some XXXX's left near the bottom of the transcript.
This is weird and simple and I like it.

I liked it a lot more until the log. Then downvoted. It works perfectly fine as leaves that reattach themselves… but loses a lot with the 'talk like regular people in traffic'
Admin, SCP Wiki
Leaves that reattach themselves comes off as boring! The log adds so much more character and story. Without it there isn't a hook as it just becomes "leaves that reattach themselves" or a thing that does a thing.
The endless cyle of falling and reattaching leaves had a sort of creepy fairytale vibe to it, which I liked a lot; but the absurdist/slapstick nature of the addedendum has a completely different emotional impact, and the two impressions don't mix well at all. In that regard, I'm with Bright.
Also, while thing-that-does-a-thing has fallen out of favor, it's still a perfectly valid style of article if it's done well. I assume the reason it's discouraged is the same reason that humanoids etc. are discouraged for new members: because it's hard to do well, and easy to do poorly. Without the addendum this wouldn't have quite enough content but it would still have been most of the way to an interesting, well written TTDAT.
Yeah, I agree. I was ready to upvote this before the wildly off transcript. It really ruins the nice fairy-tale mood the earlier part builds up.
Safe; Fully Contained, Instances Secured.
I have an issue with this. And well, I second Bright (that log was not satisfactory). -1.
Your vote is justifiable, but I would like to ask; what do you find wrong with the details in the object class?
I have some issues with it:
- It doesn't really feel like an Object Class thing. I think if I had to include this information in the article, I would drop it in the Special Containment Procedures. It just feels more relevant there.
- "Instances Secured" and "Fully Contained" are also redundant. If all instances are secure, there's no way for it to be not fully contained. If it's fully contained, that implies that none of the instances remain unsecured.
- Living things have a tendency to pass on traits to their offspring. If the cause of this is genetic (or epigenetic), then this is not fully contained. If there's straight up just another somewhere, it's not fully contained. They don't know this stuff yet. Which means that they should have a full sentence explaining that, not a few words in the Object Class that sound more authoritative than they really are.
- They don't do enough to distinguish it from other articles, because probably more than half of the things on the site are fully contained.
- From a narrative standpoint, it's only interesting when the thing isn't contained.

All good points. I'll remove it for now, but will edit it for later.
(Though I was thinking the tree didn't pass on its traits to its offspring, but I should've thought about that)
Important-ish reply: After waiting a bit, I'm glad to see the way I wrote this got the right reaction. That is, by being mysterious and then slapping the reader with weird stuff. Of course not everyone would like it; it totally and utterly breaks the mood of it. Just goes to show how anomalies aren't always what you expect.
I felt the log added to the SCP . Saying to the reader that the foundation not only contains evil malevolent entities but also the mundane seemingly harmless. The known existence of any sort of magical or abnormal my cause the public to question "things" more. Making the foundation's work be more difficult to carry out.
I think the log adds some personality to the SCP, I mean look at those leaves, everyone of them is like a person living in a community (which is the tree). All of them have their own personality and their own place in 1580.
This +1 comes because the SCP is a great idea, it's well written, I like it and because the log made me lol.
